    Star Movies gets ready for ‘Fast and Furious 6’ world TV premiere

    MUMBAI: For its Fast and Furious 6 premiere, Star Movies has put together a high voltage promotional campaign which will see a double premiere on 20 July at 1pm and 9pm. 

      
    Star India English cluster general manager Kevin Vaz says, “So far we have premiered 6o titles. Because of our association with major studios like NBC, Universal Studios, Fox and others we get access to all the premieres and we ensure to open with high octane titles for our audiences.”

     

    When asked why the channel decided to telecast the movie during the 1:00 pm slot, Vaz says “Our core audiences are in this slot. It is also good sampling opportunity and for the convenience of our viewers we will be double premiering it. Earlier we also premiered Life of Pi, Breaking Dawn and A Good Day to Die Hard during the same slot.”

     

    As part of the marketing campaign-‘India’s Fast 6’ six fans will get an opportunity to experience an electrifying ride Fast and Furious style in the super sports car SLS-AMG at the Budh International Circuit, Delhi. For this, viewers need to participate in a contest by logging on to www.Indiasfast6.com through their Facebook or Twitter accounts. They have to then complete a set of tasks leading to the ultimate one-clicking a selfie with the movie in the background while it is on air.

     

    As a countdown to the world premiere, the channel aired the previous five installments of Fast and Furious every Sunday, with the first installment airing on 15 June.

     

    Promos are also on air on sister channels like Star Movies, Star World and Fox Life. The channel has partnered with Jet Airways, PVR, Smaaash and goibibo.com for the premiere. Star Movies will engage with its audiences on Twitter, wherein participants stand a chance to win limited edition Fast and Furious collectibles like sports car and pen-drives every day. Using the #FastBid, they can bid for merchandises.

     

    As part of its future premieres Vaz says, “Wolverine will air on 15 August followed by other titles like Thor, Frozen and Captain America later in the year.”

    MUMBAI: Jet Airways has launched its mobile application designed exclusively for Android smartphones.

    The mobile application will allow the airline’s guests to book tickets, check the flight status, manage their JetPrivilege account and get special promotional offers. The mobile application is now available for free download from Google Play.

    The Jet Airways mobile application leverages the Android platform’s features and design, making it an easy-to-use tool for passengers through their journey.

    The application offers a convenient booking and secure payment process allowing credit card transactions accompanied by the ability to save and access booked itineraries.

    Other features include real time flight status check, with the option to search using flight number, airport or route, registration for receiving real time flight status notification, and the opportunity to avail special offers and news updates.

    Disney kicks-off Jet Set 2 campaign

    MUMBAI: Disney Channel has kicked-off ‘Jet Set 2’ on-air contest in partnership with Jet Airways. The kids broadcaster has roped in Pepsodent as a powered by sponsor.

     

    The month long campaign will be driven primarily through Disney kid’s network comprising Disney Channel, Disney XD, Hungama and Disney Junior. The campaign will also be promoted on social media through Facebook.

     

    The contest kicked-off on 13 April and will run for a month till 12 May. It is open to children aged between 4-14 years. The contest will culminate with 30 families being awarded the grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

     

    Disney UTV executive director and Disney kids network business head Vijay Subramaniam reckons that the ‘Jet Set 2’ campaign has helped brand Disney to convey its core message of “great storytelling”.

     

    “The ‘Jet Set 2’ campaign has all the elements that the brand Disney stands for. This year we have added new ingredients like referral bonus and loyalty bonus to add to the excitement,” says Subramaniam.

     

    In order to participate in the campaign, children will have to spot an animated Jet Airways aircraft with Mickey, Minnie and Pluto’s picture which appears on the Disney Channel throughout the campaign period.

     

    Children can then accumulate points each time they spot the aircraft by giving a missed call to a toll-free number flashing on the screen, absolutely free of cost. Children spotting the animated plane the maximum number of times will earn maximum points.

     

    The contest had last year generated a record-breaking six million entries. A special Jet Airways aircraft, branded with Disney’s favorite characters, flew the winners to Disneyland Hong Kong.

    MUMBAI: Disney Channel India and Jet Airways Monday unveiled a Disney-themed aircraft wrapped with images of Disney’s Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto at Mumbai International Airport marking the culmination of the Jet Set Go on-air campaign.

    The Boeing 737-800 from the fleet of Jet Airways, India’s premiere international airline, will be in the air beginning 10 July.

    The Disney Channel’s ‘Jet Set Go’ campaign generated a six million entries that were submitted from all over India, with 37 families being awarded the prize of an all-expense paid trip to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort where they will be able to meet all of their favourite characters.

    “At the heart of Disney DNA is our passion for telling the world’s best stories and providing unique experiences for kids and families. Jet Set Go is one such initiative which has seen a phenomenal response from all corners of the country,” said Disney UTV Executive Director – Disney Kids Network Vijay Subramaniam.

    “We‘re delighted to welcome the 37 winning families to the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and help make their dreams come true with magical Disney experiences. They‘ll be joining the growing number of Guests who visit from India. In the 2011 fiscal year, the Resort experienced an 8 per cent increase in Guests from India over the previous year, with over 70 per cent indicating the intention to revisit in the future,” said Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Director, Marketing Wendy Chu.

    Jet Airways consolidates & rebrands low-fare products under JetKonnect

    MUMBAI: As part of a strategic rebranding, Jet Airways will consolidate its low-fare service products under the JetKonnect brand.

    The rebranding exercise aims to simplify the group‘s service proposition and enhance brand recall.

    Effective from 25 March, Jet Airways Konnect and JetLite will be rebranded as JetKonnect. This will enable guests to avail single superior in-flight product in the full service (Jet Airways) and low-fare (JetKonnect) categories, the company said. Additionally, from 26 March guests to jetlite.com would be automatically redirected to jetkonnect.com.

    Jet Airways (India) and JetLite (India) will continue as distinct business entities operating under their own airline operating permits.

    In an attempt to achieve brand consistency, JetKonnect will be the dedicated low fare service with a mixed fleet of Boeings and ATR aircraft to operate on metro, tier II and III routes.

    A gradual rebranding of the JetKonnect brand would be manifest on letterheads, the JetKonnect website, boarding passes, tickets, stationery. Signages at all check-in and ticketing counters will have dual branding reflecting the existing Jet Airways and the new JetKonnect logos. Difference in fares between the premier Jet Airways and JetKonnect will also be reflected on the website and all visible communication avenues.

    Jet Airways chief commercial officer Sudheer Raghavan said, “The decision was made to streamline our product portfolio and offer our guests a single superior in-flight product in the full service and low fare categories respectively, drawing synergies from the Jet Airways mother brand. The launch of brand JetKonnect is the culmination of a well coordinated effort. We are confident that this initiative will be well accepted by all our guests. The Jet Airways Group is continually looking at opportunities to optimally deploy and cross-utilise common resources of Jet Airways and JetLite wherever possible and this rebranding exercise will help further in synergising the airlines‘ collective operations.”
