Star World to air Jimmy Kimmel Live on 20 April

MUMBAI: The beautiful Emily Blunt appeared on the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! promoting her upcoming fantasy film, The Huntsman: Winter’s War. During her chat with popular host Jimmy Kimmel, Blunt spoke about her special Frozen connection, her little admirer, riding an imaginary animal and her panic attack during her husband’s on-stage fashion disaster.

The show will air on 20 April 2016 at 11 pm.

With her character Freya, the Ice Queen in her upcoming film strongly resembling Elsa from Frozen, Kimmel pointed the striking similarities out to the actress, to which the actress revealed he wasn’t the only one. She said, “Charlize’s son was on set a lot and he’s obsessed with Frozen so he really thought I was Elsa,” Blunt said. “And then he got really disappointed because he saw me in my sweatpants one day with the white hair on, and he just looks at me and goes, put on your dress. Like, he was really bummed about it. Put it on now.”

But that’s not all, according to Kimmel, the actress looked like a lump on a golf cart while shooting for the film, all thanks to the imaginary wolf-bear! Thecharacter Freya rides a wolf-bearinto battle, but since it actually doesn’t exist, Emily was required to ride a green contraption to give the same effect.

Blunt had to mimic a swaying movement while riding side-saddle in the golf cart, which she hilariously replicated for Kimmel. She revealed, “So I’m just like this on it, driving at a glacial pace towards the other actors, and I just remember coming towards Jessica Chastain and she was like this, trying not to laugh ‘cause she knew if she made me laugh, the whole shot would be ruined,” Blunt said. “You’re talking about 50 horses, 100 extras. The reset takes an hour.”

Blunt also spoke about a panic attack she got thanks to her husband’s recent fashion disaster while onstage for his play. She told the host, “John came out for his first scene, and his suit jacket was tucked into his pants… like, really tucked… wedged… I heard myself say, oh my God, no. And I just knew that everyone was gonna see… everyone’s gonna get the right angle at some point… I was panicking.” The actress felt a sense of gratitude towards the savior Hank Azaria, her husband’s co-star who came behind and removed the jacket before too many audience members noticed. “

  • Benedict Cumberbatch exits Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak’

Benedict Cumberbatch exits Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak’

MUMBAI: Benedict Cumberbatch has exited Crimson Peak, the Legendary screamer being directed by Guillermo del Toro.

The reason for his departure is unknown, although sources claim his exit is not due to another project.

Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska remain on board to star in the four-hander gothic horror story that centers on a woman who discovers that her husband might not be who he appears to be.

Peak is scheduled to shoot in January, and the exit at this early stage gives del Toro plenty of time to find a replacement. The filmmaker has already shown he can roll with the punches when he quickly cast Wasikowska after Emma Stone fell off the movie.

Cumberbatch is entering a busy period where many of his completed films will hit screens. Dreamworks’ The Fifth Estate kicks off the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Fox Searchlight’s 12 Years a Slave opens on 18 October, while the all-star August: Osage County opens this Christmas.

He is also voicing the dragon Smaug in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and is in preproduction on The Imitation Game, in which he will portray gay cryptographer Alan Turing.

  • PVR releasing Zero Dark Thirty on 14 February

PVR releasing Zero Dark Thirty on 14 February

MUMBAI: Come 14 February, PVR Pictures is all set to end the greatest manhunt for the world‘s most dangerous man Osama Bin Laden when it releases Kathryn Bigelow‘s Zero Dark Thirty. The Oscar nominated film chronicles a decade-long hunt for the most dreaded terrorist.

The film has a great connection with India. Not only were some key sequences shot in India, but also the actor who plays the role of Osama has an Indian descent.

The bazaar of Manimajra near Chandigarh was turned into Pakistani market overnight. The town was also made to replicate Abbottabad in Pakistan. Jessica Chastain who plays the role of Maya in Zero Dark Thirty believes that Indians will definitely be able to relate to Zero Dark Thirty.

PVR Pictures is currently running a contest which gives audiences a chance to watch this epic movie this Valentine. Audiences are enthusiastically participating in the contest on Twitter. The film has already generated much buzz in India and the audience is extremely keen to watch the movie.

  • Zero Dark Thirty to release on 11 January

Zero Dark Thirty to release on 11 January

MUMBAI: PVR Pictures is readying itself to release Kathryn Bigelow’s most ambitious production to date Zero Dark Thirty, a chronicle of the decade long hunt for Al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks, and his death at the hands of the Navy SEAL Team 6 in 2011 on 11 January.

Zero Dark Thirty (the title is military jargon for the dark of night, as well as the moment—12:30 a.m.—when the Navy SEALs first stepped foot on the compound) marks Bigelow’s most ambitious production after her impressive Oscar winning war film The Hurt Locker based in Iraq.
Deploying the full arsenal of filmic art, from the naturalistic performances of an ensemble that includes Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Ehle, Mark Strong, Kyle Chandler, and Edgar Ramirez to innovative cinematography in extreme low-light conditions and the painstakingly layered art direction, every facet of the production becomes a proving ground for Bigelow to make living history come alive on screen.
Zero Dark Thirty has received brilliant reviews from critics and is being called a taut, gritty and superbly visualized narrative neatly packed as an action thriller by a master filmmaker who knows her craft.

Bigelow’s film on Osama to be shot in Chandigarh

MUMBAI: Shooting Hollywood films in India has reached a peak with Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow deciding to shoot her film, based on terror mastermind Osama bin Laden’s capture, in Chandigarh.

According to the director, the reason for choosing India as the key location to shoot the film instead of Pakistan where the actual series of events took place, was primarily because the Pakistani authorities shot down her request to shoot there. Now Bigelow has zeroed in on locations that similarised that of Pakistan.

It is said that the crew, having landed a few days ago, will start shooting in and around Chandigarh from 24 February. The cast will be joining the crew shortly.

The film stars Jessica Chastain (nominated for Oscars in the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ category for The Help), Chris Pratt (of Moneyball fame) and Joel Edgerton.
