    iTAP’s strategic partnership with Producer Bazaar will deliver more exciting content to users

    iTAP, the prominent OTT platform offering entertainment, gaming and Esports, has partnered with the online marketplace Producer Bazaar to offer a wider variety of content to its users. Through this collaboration, iTAP users will access premium offerings from Producer Bazaar, including 22 international movies dubbed in Hindi.

    “This alliance aligns with our goal of delivering quality and vivid content that caters to the preferences of our diverse user base. iTAP users can now experience a broader selection including international films, which adds depth and variety to their entertainment options,” said iTAP the content head Masrat Bano.

    She further states that the new pact is also a part of iTAP’s efforts to support innovation in the entertainment industry. “Producer Bazaar connects music producers with artists and licensing agencies, guaranteeing frequent content updates. This will aid us in expanding iTAP’s content portfolio with new additions that traditional channels often miss. We are confident that our users will be the ultimate beneficiaries of this collaboration,” added Masrat Bano.

    Producer Bazaar also provides a platform for music producers to sell and license their beats, loops, and other musical creations. Hence, the mutually beneficial partnership will open new horizons for both iTAP and Producer Bazaar, as the demand for one-stop entertainment solutions is increasing day by day.

    Gritty stories depicting the realities of the entertainment industry

    Mumbai: Many films and shows have depicted the reality of showbiz. Some have romanticised the allure of cinema and the glamour world while others have depicted the heartbreak and disillusion that the industry inflicts upon strugglers. Here are a few such narratives that don’t gloss over the gritty realities strugglers have to face in the city of dreams.

    Heroine: Kareena Kapoor stars in a role that brings back memories of many top actors who shimmered brightly for a while but could not sustain success or find lasting personal happiness. Directed, written, and co-produced by Madhur Bhandarkar, the film also dwells upon gender politics, the role of yellow journalism, publicity gimmicks, and ageism in the industry. It also depicts how veteran actors are mistreated on sets and the way the market value of stars changes on the basis of their last release. It also stars Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda, Shahana Goswami, Raqesh Bapat, Divya Dutta, Helen,  Mugdha Godse, and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles. Watch it on Apple TV.

    Bombay Babes (Season 1 and 2): This iTap winner directed by Ashish Bhatia, revolves around a few young women who hope to make it big in Mumbai but then their dream auditions turn into nightmares. And their plans to carve a niche in the frenzied metro are derailed by predatorial men. How these women then join forces to avenge themselves and protect each other makes for a riveting watch. This Hindi web series stars Ruby Bharaj, Navneet Kaur, Surabhi Tiwari, Kanika Gupta and Shipra Dwivedi as the lead characters of Angel, Jenny, Dolly,  Farzeen, and Sandi respectively.  The show is an engrossing story of empowerment and self-discovery and is available on iTap.

    Fashion: Meghna, a small-town girl loses herself in the race to become the face of a top fashion brand on the city’s tallest hoarding. She becomes the most sought-after model,  trades love for success and soon loses her footing when she realises that fame is ephemeral and everyone is dispensable in the world of glamour. How she finds her own authentic self after losing everything is both a cautionary tale and a story of hope. This  Madhur Bhandarkar directorial starred Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse in lead roles, with Arjan Bajwa, Samir Soni and Arbaaz Khan.  You can stream it on Netflix.

    Jubilee: This period drama created and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane reimagines the birth of the star system in pre and post-independence India through the events in Roy Talkies, a place where ambitious fame seekers flock to realise their dreams of stardom.  The show stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Sidhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ram Kapoor and begins with the search for a new actor who will be named  ‘Madan Kumar’.  In the race to be anointed as the new discovery of Roy Talkies, Binod, a projector boy does the unthinkable and becomes an unlikely star.     Luck by Chance: ‘Luck by Chance’,  Zoya Akhtar’s directorial debut stars Farhan Akhtar as Vikram Jaisingh, a ruthlessly ambitious actor who lives with her disapproving aunt in Mumbai and hopes to make it big one day. A chance meeting with Neena (Dimple Kapadia), a once-famous actress leads to an audition for a solo lead in a big production and he manipulates a rival to bag the role. He then betrays his girlfriend and aspiring actor Sona (Konkona Sen Sharma) and begins a relationship with his co-star. However,  when success arrives, he realises that it alone cannot bring happiness. Glittering with guest stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna, the film also starred Rishi Kapoor, Isha Sharvani, and Juhi Chawla. You can watch it on Netflix.

    i-Tap inks MoU with NextPlay

    Mumbai: Triple Com Media (iTap) Mumbai, has announced a strategic partnership with NextPlay Technologies. NextPlay’s in-game advertising (IGA) unit, HotPlay has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with iTap, Mumbai. It is an OTT entertainment and gaming platform in India that offers comedy shorts, mobisodes, films, serials, lifestyle features, gaming and esports content targeted to Indian smartphone audiences. 

    The MOU aims at a partnership that will target India’s fast growing online gaming audience and later also extend to international markets in fourth quarter of 2022 when iTap expands overseas. The collaboration includes integration of HotPlay’s In-Game Advertising (IGA) tech into iTap’s existing entertainment, gaming, and e-sports content. HotPlay’s hyper-casual game portfolio currently includes more than fifty exciting games and growing which will also be on boarded onto iTap’s existing library of casual and trivia games and quizzes. The joint effort is designed to create an ecosystem in-line with both organisation’s business objectives while entertaining India’s 400 million plus gaming audience. 

    Despite the pandemic and recent economic turmoil, the parties believe that India remains a bright spot for growth. The partnership aims to seize opportunities in the high growth markets of hyper-casual genre games, e-sports, and gaming tournaments. Both parties view hyper-casual gaming as an opportunity due to its easy-to-play nature that engages broad audience age groups. 

    NextPlay co-CEO Nithinan Boonyawattanapisut stated, “The company sees great opportunity in the Indian market, not only from the size of the market itself but also from the remarkable growth rate of its entertainment segment, particularly in the hyper-casual game space and overall gaming industry. We are optimistic about this strategic collaboration with iTAP’s fast-growing OTT platform and an opportunity to enter the Indian market. We believe in the recent completion of our goGame asset purchase, our hyper-casual game portfolio and our HotPlay.”

The integration of HotPlay games and IGA will better position iTAP’s entertainment ecosystem in India and augment revenue opportunities through iTAP’s rapidly growing user base.” he added. 

    Triple Com Media, iTap founder & CEO Kunal Dasgupta said, “HotPlay will help strengthen iTAP’s gaming profile and integrating IGA into iTap also creates promotional extensions such as in-game coupons, rewards, and contests. These synergies are expected to be very beneficial and relevant for marketers besides additional opportunities for iTap and HotPlay to explore collaboration in new, emerging areas like NFTs, digital fashion and virtual artefacts for the Metaverse.”
