  • Cairn India pockets seven PR awards

    MUMBAI: Cairn India Ltd., the nation’s largest private sector oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) company, currently accounting for almost 30 per cent of India’s crude oil production, has won seven awards for its communication collaterals at the Annual Communications Awards organised by Public Relation Council of India (PRCI).

    Other prominent winners at the events were IBM, NTPC, GVK, IOCL, Aditya Birla Group, DMRC, GMR, BEML Godrej and Biocon etc.

    Cairn India is one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in India. A subsidiary of Vedanta Limited; part of the Vedanta Group, a globally diversified natural resources group, Cairn India has operational offices in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

    The awards were given at an event held as part of PRCI’s 11th Global Communication Conclave 2017 in Bangalore, early this month. Cairn India also received ‘Champion of Champions’ trophy for bagging maximum number of awards. The awards were presented by Karnataka minister of social welfare H. Anjaneya and Karnataka minister of state (independent charge) information technology & bio-technology Priyank Kharge.

    Cairn India Arun Arora chief communication officer Arun Arora, and assistant manager – corporate communication Hari Singh received the awards.

    Commenting on this feat, a Cairn spokesperson said, “What makes this special is that all the creative work on collaterals was carried out in-house, by our team. The team worked with tremendous dedication and innovative approach to bring these collaterals to life.”

    Around 100 companies participated in the event and 86 pitched for awards in various collateral categories.

  • ITC’s Kurush Grant is new chairman of ISA

    MUMBAI: ITC Limited executive director Kurush Grant has been elected as the chairman of the Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) at a meeting held on 11 September.

    ISA is the only national body of advertisers and its members from across industries contribute to over two-thirds of India‘s national non-governmental advertisement spends.

    The other office bearers of ISA are Bharat Bambawale (Bharti Airtel) is vice-chairman-north, N. Srikumar (IOCL) is vice chairman-west, Ajoy Chawla (Titan Industries) is vice chairman-south, Paulomi Dhawan (Landmarc Leisure) is honorary treasurer and Hemant Bakshi (HUL) is chairman of the media committee.

    The other members of the executive council are — Bharat V. Patel (Yes Bank), Rajiv Dube (Aditya Birla), Narendra Ambwani (Agro Tech Foods), Chandramouli Venkatesan, (Cadbury India), Sameer Satpathy (Marico Limited), Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan (Nestle India), R. Ramakrishnan (Polycab Wires), Brahm Vasudeva (Hawkins Cookers), Kainaz Gazder (Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care), J. C. Chopra (Infogain India), Harish Bhat (Tata Global Beverages) and Anil Chugh (Wipro – Consumer Care and Lighting Division).

    Grant said he looked forward to next year being more interesting. He hoped the formation of BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) and other initiatives would be taken forward as appropriate and saw continuous opportunities for working together in the executive council and with ISA members.

  • Vikram Hospitals awards digital & social media duties to Spiider Digital Hub

    MUMBAI: Vikram Hospitals has appointed the digital arm of Concept Group, Spiider Digital Hub, to take care of its digital and social media mandate.

    The agency had to beat nine rivals to bag the account.

    Based out of South India, Vikram Hospitals is a chain of specialty hospitals located in Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya and Tumkur.

    The hospital chain is looking for brand engagement in the online space and aims at enhancing the “Patient-first, patient centric approach” they are guided by.

    Spiider Digital Hub MD Kushal Sanghvi said, “With our expertise in digital marketing and social media along with the various in-house social media mapping tools at our disposal, we hope to provide them with revolutionary brand engagement techniques that will give them widespread exposure and engagement in the digital arena. Our main focus will be social media. Additionally, we will also be spreading education about health. We will be doing viral marketing, video dissemination, search optimisation and other smart things.”

    Vikram Hospitals MD Dr. Vikram added, “The online space can help us serve and bind well with our prospects better than any other medium as it allows us to stay connected with them all the time with real-time updates and we hope that this new venture will help us connect more with the digitally inclined and savvy future generation and create a strong engagement opportunities for our brand.”

    Spiider Digital Hub also handles brands like IOCL, SBI and Religare.

    Indian Oil empanels 8 agencies for its corporate account

    MUMBAI: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has empanelled eight agencies – Continental Advertising, Interads, Newfields, Concept, RK Swamy BBDO, Inter Publicity, Siddhartha advertising and National Advertising – for its corporate account.

    Among these eight agencies, National Advertising, Siddhartha advertising, RK Swamy BBDO and Inter Publicity are the new agencies while the remaining four have been retained to service the account.

    The agencies were invited for the multi-agency pitch in October.

    The empanelment will be for a period of two years. However, there is a provision of extension for another two years at the sole discretion of IOCL, company sources said.

    Concept India MD Vivek Suchanti and Sr VP Aarti Arora confirmed the news of retaining the account to Indiantelevision.com. The other accounts that the agency won in recent past were Power Grade and National Highway Authority of India.

    The creative duties for IOCL‘s products are handled by Grey Worldwide, McCann Erickson, Rediffusion-Y&R, Draftfcb Ulka and Contract Advertising.
