    MUMBAI: Celebrating Excellence. The Bajaj Boxer Indian Telly Awards 2002 truely lived up to the core premise of these awards instituted by television services company Indian Television Dot Com Pvt. Ltd for the first time ever in 2001.

    From relatively modest beginnings, the awards really took off this time round and the second edition of the event more than lived up to its billing as the biggest and best awards the Indian television industry has to offer.

    MUMBAI:The most eagerly awaited television awards for the year gone by are a mere 24 hours away.

    The popular awards category of the Indian Telly Awards 2002, to be bestowed on the most talented, committed and loved of the on screen personalities will be held at a glittering function at the Tulip Star poolside on Friday evening. Amid an array of celebrities, including those who shine on screen and those behind the screen who make it all possible, there will be scintillating performances, rocking music and of course, finger biting suspense as the best in each genre is recognised and honoured. Among the various categories the awards have been broken down into are a Lifetime Achievement Award as well as posthumous awards – for television personalities who have left a lasting impression through the small screen.

    The popular awards, which include 34 categories this time round, include –

    Comedy show of the year
    Best Comic Shorts
    Best Current Affairs Programme
    Business Show of the year
    Best music show
    Best Game Show of the year

    Apart from the prestigious awards for the best news channel, music channel and entertainment TV channel, the TV personality of the year and the CEO of the year will also be honoured at the Indian Telly Awards 2002. Amid the lively compering of anchors Aman Verma, Nausheen Ali Sardar, Smita Bansal and Prabhat, the best news anchor and TV anchor of the year will be honoured at the awards.

    Countdown begins for Trade,Technical Indian Tellys

    MUMBAI: The clock is ticking for the Trade and Technical categories of the Indian Telly Awards 2002, to be given away on 31 October.

    A total of 13 awards, both from the trade and technical categories will be given away at a distinguished function to be held at the Harbour Hall, Tulip Star. The awards seek to reward excellence in the fields which usually do not grace the limelight, but nevertheless contribute in a major way to the overall performance of a television channel. Among the trade awards constituted this year are –

    TV Marketing Executive of the year
    TV Ad Sales Executive of the year
    TV Distribution Executive of the year
    TV Communications and PR Executive of the year
    TV CFO of the year
    MSO of the year

    The technical awards include
    Best Special/Visual Effects for Television
    Best Art Direction (Set Designing)
    Best Videography (TV Cameraman of the year)
    Best Costumes for a TV show
    Best TV Show Packaging
    Best TV Channel Packaging
    Best TV Picture Editor of the year

    Online polling on for Indian Telly Awards 2002

    MUMBAI: Online polling for several categories for the second annual Indian Telly Awards has started on indiantelevision.com.

    Three programming awards are open for public polling. These include The TV Show of the Year, Best Fiction Show of the Year and Best Music Show.

    Voters can also exercise their choice on the nine Personality Awards. These include TV Actor in a Comic Role, TV Actress in a Comic Role, TV Actor in a Negative Role TV Actress in a Negative Role.

    In hot contest are the channel awards for the year, which include News Channel of the Year, Music Channel of the Year and Entertainment Channel of the Year.

    The 11 trade awards in the fray include TV Marketing Executive of the Year, TV Ad Sales Executive of the Year TV Programming Executive of the Year, TV Distribution Executive of the Year and TV Production House of the Year.

    Polling is scheduled to close on 24 October. The awards will be given away at a star studded ceremony on 1 November at the Tulip Star (Juhu Centaur).
