    MUMBAI: Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of P.D. Singh as its chief executive officer (CEO) for India, effective 1 April 2025. Singh will succeed Zarin Daruwala, who is set to retire on 31 March 2025, after an illustrious tenure at the helm.

    Bringing nearly 30 years of experience in banking and finance, Singh holds a double MBA alongside an engineering degree. His career spans leadership and coverage roles across top European and American banks, making him a formidable force in the industry.

    Before joining Standard Chartered, Singh served as CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank NA India. Prior to that, he spent a decade at HSBC, where he held multiple leadership roles in corporate and commercial banking.

    With deep industry knowledge and a track record of steering financial institutions to success, Singh’s leadership is expected to drive innovation, strengthen client relationships, and accelerate Standard Chartered’s growth in India. His global exposure positions him well to navigate the evolving financial landscape while ensuring continuity and stability.

    As Daruwala prepares to retire, Standard Chartered acknowledges her significant contributions to the bank’s success in India. Under her leadership, the bank witnessed remarkable expansion and innovation, solidifying its position in a competitive market.

    Navnit Nakra to spearhead OnePlus India operations

    Mumbai: Global technology brand OnePlus has elevated its vice president, chief strategy officer, and head of sales in India, Navnit Nakra, to the role of OnePlus India CEO and head of the brand for India region.

    As part of this new senior leadership role, Nakra will spearhead the company’s business operations and overall strategy for the India region, said the statement.

    “Navnit has successfully led the strategy and sales operations at OnePlus India, and our team has gained immense growth under his leadership,” stated Oppo chief product officer and OnePlus founder Pete Lau. “India continues to be an important market for OnePlus, and we continue to focus on our India community’s needs as we work towards building a newer, more innovative ecosystem of products and services. Therefore, I am confident that Navnit will play a pivotal role in leading the future business operations effectively in the region.”

    Nakra’s journey with OnePlus India began in February 2020 as the vice president and chief strategy officer, wherein he drove the corporate strategy plans as well as key strategic partnerships that are vital to the India business. He went on to also oversee the sales operations of the company in the region, taking on the additional role of head of India sales over the past year.

    Realme’s DIZO brand names Abhilash Panda as India CEO

    Mumbai: DIZO, a TechLife brand from realme smartphone, announced the appointment of Abhilash Panda as CEO and official spokesperson for DIZO India. Panda joins DIZO India from Flipkart where he was director for its mobile phones vertical.

    As DIZO’s CEO and spokesperson, Panda will be responsible for all areas of operations including sales, marketing, Research & Development (R&D), supply chain, human resources, among others as well as the front-end for all official announcements by the brand, and he will attempt to position DIZO among the top brands in Artificial Internet of Things (AIoT) products category, the company said in an official statement.

    During his seven years of tenure at Flipkart, Panda has worked with several global and Indian technology and lifestyle brands, including realme since its beginning days and has been responsible to lead the planning and business development of these brands.
