    Tejinder Kalra is COO at Indus Towers

    MUMBAI: Indian Telecom tower company Indus Towers announced the appointment of Tejinder Kalra as the chief operating officer (COO), as on 1 July 2016. With over 26 years of experience in the telecom and telecom services industry, Tejinder holds an extensive experience in strategy development, implementation and service delivery across geographies  says an Indus Towers release

    Indus Towers CEO Bimal Dayal said, “In line with Indus’ pursuit of building a strong leadership team for the future, I would like to announce appointment of Tejinder Kalra. His passion, strategic clarity and disciplined execution will help ensure that Indus Towers’ continues to deliver our best to our customers.”

    Tejinder joins Indus Towers from Nokia, where he was the Global Head for Bharti Business in his most recent role. He has worked with Nokia for over 13 years, and has been a pivotal part of their growth story. In his last role, he managed the end to end P&L ownership for Bharti Telecom business globally. He was also the Sub-Region Head for Central, East and Western Africa in an earlier role where he helped set-up Nokia’s Airtel operations in Africa.

    Tejinder has been associated with Reliance Infocomm, Satyam Infoway, Sprint RPG India amongst other organizations in the past. He has done his engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology and Executive Diploma in International Business from IIFT.

    Viacom18 hires Utpal Das as Chief Commercial officer

    MUMBAI: From Zee to V. V as in Viacom18. That’s the route that Utpal Das is taking. Viacom18 Media today announced that the long time Times group and Zee TV professional has joined the company as chief commercial officer effective 1 August.

     

    Utpal will be reporting in to Viacom18 CEO Sudhanshu Vats and will be a part of the Viacom18 leadership team.

     

    Announcing this appointment Vats said, “As a network we are growing exponentially. In our next phase we are committed to strengthening our central functions to build efficiencies and drive synergies. Utpal brings rich and diversified experience to the team and I am confident he will contribute to our growth story. I welcome him to the Viacom18 family and look forward to working with him.”

    Utpal brings to the table more than two decades of experience across several companies in the very diverse business segments ranging from Larsen & Toubro in engineering to Zee Entertainment and BCCL in media. Das is a bachelor of engineering from Regional Engineering College-Silchar and executive masters in international business from IIFT Delhi.

    Sify promotes Sivaramakrishnan to president, portals

    MUMBAI: Sify Limited has promoted V Sivaramakrishnan as the president of its portal business. Prior to this, he was vice president of iWay cyber café chain business.

    A management graduate from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Sivaramakrishnan has worked in companies like Procter & Gamble and Ford, both in India and abroad. During his tenure with them, he led brand, sales and customer service teams, marketing and sales initiatives for brands such as Vicks, Pampers, Old Spice, Ford Fiesta, Ford Ikon and Ford Endeavour.

    Sify Limited CEO and managing director Raju Vegesna said, “I am very pleased to announce Siva’s promotion as President, Sify Portals.     Zee Telugu promotes Rasool Ali as business head

    MUMBAI: Zee South Initiative VP Analytics Rasool Ali has been promoted the business head of Zee Telugu. Ali will be taking three sixty degree control of the first vernacular TV channel of Zee Network in South India, which is fifteen months old.

    An MBA Gold Medallist from AMU and an IIFT post graduate, Ali has vast experience in retail and International marketing, He crossed over to media industry in 2002 as head of analytics at ETV and then moved over to Zee South Initiative, states an official release.

    Ali will report to Zee Network South Initiatives head R. Ajay Kumar.
