    Hyundai Motor registers highest ever domestic sales in 2024

    MUMBAI:  It’s driving in top gear, purring like a beauty, moving smoothly, even when going round terrifying economic bends. 

    Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced on 1 January that it sold 6,05,433 vehicles domestically and 7,64,119 vehicles in total, when exports are included. These are the highest domestic sales it as recorded since inception. The figures for just December 2024 alone are at 55,078 vehicles (42,208 units domestic and 12,870 exports).

    Sports utility vehicle (SUV) sales contributed 67.66 per cent  with the Hyundai Creta proving a popular buy by selling 1,86,9199 units. Vehicles adapted for CNG  accounted for 13.1 per cent of sales as against 10.4  per cent in calendar year 2023.

    Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has announced the appointment of Amitabh Lal Das as the chief legal officer & business head. This appointment reflects the company’s commitment to driving innovation, operational excellence and persistent growth, as it embarks on its next phase of expansion.

    Congratulating Das, HMIL MD Unsoo Kim said, “We are happy to welcome Amitabh Lal Das to our leadership team as the chief legal officer & business head. His expertise, strategic acumen and track record in navigating complex challenges will add immense value to HMIL. As we continue to grow and evolve, I am confident his contributions will go a long way in supporting our vision and upholding our values.”

    Amitabh Lal Das has well-rounded experience in legal and allied domains. He completed his bachelor’s degree in arts (honours) in 1990 and a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Delhi in 1995. He also holds an international certificate in enterprise risk management from the IRM, UK. In his preceding roles, he served as the senior legal director & general counsel to Yahoo India Pvt Ltd and was also previously associated with Max Life Insurance Company Ltd.

    As the chief legal officer & business head, he will oversee legal, compliance and secretarial functions, reporting to Kim.

    Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), India’s smart mobility solutions provider, announced the 2024 Edition of ‘Hyundai Spotlight Concerts’, a unique engagement initiative, exclusively for Hyundai customers in India. In its second edition this year, these live concerts will be organized across six cities including Chennai, Mumbai, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Bangalore and Ahmedabad, featuring some of India’s most renowned performing artists and musicians.

Hyundai customers can register themselves with up to four members to be a part of this captivating experience.

    ‘Hyundai Spotlight Concerts’ were first introduced in 2023 with concerts across four cities. The concerts were a huge success with more than 8,500 customers attending these live performances with their loved ones. In 2024, HMIL has already organized four such concerts in New Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Kochi.

    Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) announced employment opportunities for 403 students from ITIs and polytechnic institutes across nine Indian states, at its dealer network. HMIL offers a special skill development program at ITIs and polytechnic institutes and further helps students get meaningful employment opportunities in its wide network of dealers. The recent recruitment drive was conducted across Assam, Arunachal  Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Gujarat.

    Committed to Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, HMIL aims to enrich lives empower the dreams of India’s youth and build a better Bharat. Through this initiative, HMIL  helps create an ecosystem for students ensuring industry-ready skill development, exposure to the latest technologies, on-the-job training, and employment opportunities after the course.

    Hyundai Motor India installs Chennai’s first 180 kW DC fast charging station

    Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) announced the inauguration of its first 180 kW DC fast public electric-powered vehicles (EV) charging station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, comprising of 150 kW & 30 kW connectors. As part of HMIL’s commitment to Tamil Nadu, it is the only fast public EV charging station currently installed in Chennai and is a first of HMIL’s target of installing a total of 100 fast public EV charging stations at key highways and cities across Tamil Nadu.

    Commenting on the installation of first fast charging station in Chennai, HMIL executive director – corporate planning Jae Wan Ryu said, “Tamil Nadu is home for Hyundai Motor India Ltd, and we have been committed to Tamil Nadu since our inception. As we celebrate 28 years of HMIL in India, we are delighted to inaugurate our first-ever 180 kW fast public charging station in Chennai. In line with Hyundai’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, we aim to enhance convenience of all EV users, and hence our charging stations can be utilized by any four-wheeler EV user. HMIL envisages to install 100 charging stations across Tamil Nadu, to enhance the EV ecosystem and motivate more customers towards EV adoption across the state.”

    All EV customers stand to benefit from a quick charging experience with HMIL’s public 180 kW DC fast charging station. EV owners can access the charging facility on HMIL’s own charger management system in the myHyundai App, for easy location, navigation and pre-booking of charging slots, making digital payments and remote charging status monitoring. In addition to the fast public charging station, more than 170 of the charging points currently available in Tamil Nadu are mapped in the “EV Charge” section of myHyundai app for customer convenience. This app is open and accessible to all Hyundai as well as non-Hyundai EV users.

    The charging station has been strategically installed in the heart of Chennai and is located at the Spencer Plaza Mall, Anna Salai, Thousand Lights – Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The charging station is installed in close vicinity to customer amenities like coffee shops, restaurants and shopping avenues, to further induce customer delight while charging their electric vehicles.
