Hyundai drives hope in India’s fight against cancer

MUMBAI: Turning compassion into action, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) is steering India toward a healthier tomorrow through its flagship initiative, Hyundai Hope for Cancer, launched in collaboration with IIT Madras. On National Cancer Awareness Day, HMIF announced significant progress, with over 11,000 screenings, 1,104 cancer tissue samples collected, and the creation of India’s first open-access cancer genome database, the Bharat Cancer Genome Atlas (BCGA).

Launched in September 2025, the initiative represents a landmark in paediatric cancer research and prevention. The Hyundai Centre for cancer genomics at IIT Madras serves as the nerve centre of this effort, housing India’s first community-based Cancer Tissue Biobank and advancing breakthroughs in personalised oncology.

“With Hyundai Hope for Cancer, we aim to build a future where every citizen has access to timely and dignified cancer care,” said HMIL AVP and vertical head – corporate affairs, corporate communication & social Puneet Anand. “With a social impact investment of Rs 56 crore, including a dedicated Rs 3 crore cancer care fund, Hyundai is driving equitable access to early detection, treatment, and research, already touching over 11,000 lives.”

So far, 109 screening camps have been held across Tamil Nadu, reaching 11,095 individuals and identifying 448 positive cases referred for advanced care. The initiative also conducted HPV vaccinations for 525 girls in partnership with Karkinos Healthcare and CRRT, and completed whole genome sequencing for 528 paediatric leukaemia cases.

Beyond research, Hyundai’s mission is hands-on, a mobile cancer screening vehicle has already covered 17 districts in Tamil Nadu, with expansion to Maharashtra and Haryana planned next year. Over the next four years, the initiative aims to conduct 225 plus awareness and screening camps, reaching 1.27 lakh individuals and vaccinating 5,000 plus girls against HPV.

By combining technology, science, and empathy, Hyundai isn’t just driving cars, it’s driving hope, one life at a time.

  • Venue gets a tech tune-up as Hyundai drives into the future

Venue gets a tech tune-up as Hyundai drives into the future

MUMBAI: Fasten your seatbelts, the Hyundai Venue just got a serious software update. The compact SUV that once ruled the roads with its style is now gearing up to rule with its smarts. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has unveiled the tech-packed, safety-loaded all-new Venue, promising to take Indian roads into the era of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

Leading the charge is Hyundai’s futuristic ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) system, accelerated by Nvidia, paired with dual 62.5 cm (12.3” + 12.3”) curved panoramic displays that stretch across the dashboard like a digital command centre. It’s not just a screen, it’s a statement.

The Venue also features an immersive 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, seamless OTA updates, and a fully digital 12.3-inch display cluster that keeps you updated on everything from tyre pressure to ADAS alerts. Add to that a Bose 8-speaker premium sound system, and every drive starts to feel like a private concert.

“At HMIL, we’re committed to democratising global technologies for our customers in India,” said Hyundai Motor India whole-time director and COO Tarun Garg calling the new Venue “a bold step towards introducing SDVs in India.” He added that the Venue’s blend of “cutting-edge features and class-leading safety” would set new benchmarks in the compact SUV segment.

For the gadget geeks, the new Venue goes all out. Expect 20 Controller Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, 70 Blue Link connected features, voice-enabled smart sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, cooled glovebox and even support for five voice recognition languages Hindi, English, Hinglish, Bengali and Tamil. Oh, and yes, it comes with the in-built JioSaavn app for your on-road playlists.

But beneath the shiny tech, Hyundai has gone heavy on safety. The Venue boasts a super-strong body structure with 71 per cent ultra-high strength steel, making it sturdier than ever. It also features Hyundai SmartSense ADAS Level 2, packing 16 advanced driver assistance features like Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (for cars, pedestrians, cycles and junction turns), and Parking Collision Avoidance Assist.

In total, the SUV comes loaded with more than 65 safety features, 33 of which are standard across all variants. Think six airbags, all-four disc brakes, Hill-start Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and even a rollover sensor, it’s practically a fortress on wheels.

Inside, it’s a symphony of comfort and convenience: rear AC vents, electric 4-way driver’s seat, Surround View Monitor, and the Bose system’s crisp acoustics make sure your journey feels as good as it sounds.

Bookings are already open at Hyundai dealerships across India or online with a booking amount of Rs 25,000, ahead of the Venue’s grand debut on 4 November 2025.

With its screens, sensors and smarts, the all-new Hyundai Venue isn’t just about reaching destinations, it’s about redefining how we get there. In a world going digital, this Venue is clearly designed for the front row.

  • Arpita Roy Luthra swaps building materials for lifts at Schindler group

Arpita Roy Luthra swaps building materials for lifts at Schindler group

NEW DELHI: Arpita Roy Luthra has joined Schindler group as vice president for north India, handling sales, strategy and marketing—a September 2025 move that marks her shift from fibre cement boards to vertical mobility.

Roy Luthra arrives from Everest Industries, where she spent four years and seven months as national sales and marketing head, driving revenue for the boards and panels division. She turbocharged growth in high-value products by building infrastructure around architect engagement, premium retail and distribution networks, whilst steering new product development through a mix of in-house manufacturing and outsourced partnerships.

Before Everest, she logged nearly two years as head of marketing for Stallion Group in Lagos, managing automotive brands from Hyundai to Porsche across Sub-Saharan Africa. She helped push the conglomerate’s new car market share from 42 per cent to 45 per cent and secured the national distributorship for Bajaj Auto’s three- and four-wheeler business—a $150m annual turnover addition.

Her African chapter also included a 19-month stint at Bharti Airtel’s Netherlands-based international arm, managing enterprise operations across 14 operating companies, and a 15-month run at Crown Paints Kenya. But her longest tenure was nine years at Bharti Airtel in India, where she climbed from assistant manager in corporate sales to deputy general manager heading B2B marketing, overseeing mobility, fixed-line voice and data products.

Earlier stints at Pidilite Industries saw her leading B2B lead generation and key accounts for waterproofing solutions, whilst roles at SAB Miller and Godfrey Phillips India gave her FMCG combat experience in institutional sales.

Roy Luthra’s track record is built on cracking the B2B code—whether pitching premium cars to Nigerian dealers or fibre cement boards to Indian architects. At Schindler, she’ll deploy that playbook in a market where every new tower needs a lift, and competition for developer mindshare is brutal. The question now: can she make elevators as compelling as automobiles?

  • Hyundai drives into glamour with Filmfare for third year

Hyundai drives into glamour with Filmfare for third year

MUMBAI: Lights, camera, Creta! Hyundai takes the spotlight again. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced its continued partnership with the Filmfare Awards for the third consecutive year, reinforcing its connection with India’s cultural heartbeat. The collaboration reflects HMIL’s commitment to blending mobility with aspiration, celebrating cinema while engaging millions of customers nationwide.

“Indian cinema evolves with every frame, and Hyundai evolves with every journey,” said HMIL whole-time director and COO Tarun Garg. “Our association with Filmfare reflects our commitment to innovation, technology, and the aspirations of the families we’ve served for nearly 30 years. Our brand philosophy, Progress for Humanity, guides every action we take, from products to CSR initiatives, creating meaningful change in people’s lives.”

This year, the partnership is extra special as the Hyundai Creta marks a decade as the “King of SUVs” in India. Since its 2015 launch, the Creta has redefined the SUV segment with cutting-edge design, performance, and customer satisfaction. The latest Hyundai Creta King will make a grand appearance at the awards, turning heads on and off the red carpet.

HMIL is also driving India toward a greener future with its electric lineup, including the award-winning Ioniq 5 and the Creta electric, alongside sustainability and CSR initiatives such as Samarth by Hyundai and the Ioniq 5 forest program. These efforts highlight Hyundai’s commitment to inclusive and responsible progress.

Through this long-standing partnership, Hyundai continues to celebrate India’s cultural milestones, proving that the brand is not just about mobility, but about creating experiences that resonate with the heart and imagination of its customers.

  • Mission Sponsor Possible as Special Ops 2 locks in 14 brand partners

Mission Sponsor Possible as Special Ops 2 locks in 14 brand partners

MUMBAI: Espionage has never looked so marketable JioHotstar’s Special Ops 2 is back, and it’s bringing more than just bullets and secrets to the screen this 18 July. It’s bringing brands. Fourteen of them. Special Ops 2, the latest instalment of the hit thriller franchise, is already making headlines before its premiere not just for its high-stakes cyber warfare plot, but for its impressive brand line-up. With 14 marquee sponsors on board, the show has set a new benchmark in branded entertainment for scripted Indian OTT content.

From automobiles to FMCG, and personal care to mutual funds, Special Ops 2 has attracted a cross-sectoral advertiser base that includes Hyundai, Jaquar & Co, Directors Elaichi, Asian Paints, UTI Mutual Fund, Envy, Philips, Lux Industries, Domino’s, JK Cement, Oppo, Swiggy, Toothsi, and Sony Bravia. This marks the highest-ever sponsor count for a title under the Specials banner on JioHotstar.

“With Special Ops, we’ve built an iconic IP that delivers both cultural impact and business value,” said JioHotstar head of revenue entertainment & international Ajit Varghese. “This kind of brand response speaks to the power of premium storytelling and the platform’s ability to deliver engaged, meaningful audiences at scale.”

Returning to the screen is Kay Kay Menon as Himmat Singh, the stoic intelligence officer at the centre of the action. But this time, he’s stepping into a more shadowy world of cyber espionage, system sabotage, and faceless digital enemies, a timely theme in an age of digital vulnerability.

The rise in sponsorships also underscores how advertisers are shifting focus towards long-form, high-quality original series as strategic storytelling platforms. JioHotstar’s previous original, Criminal Justice Season 4, similarly drew widespread brand attention, signalling a growing trend in content-backed advertising integrations.

Special Ops 2 premieres on 18 July exclusively on JioHotstar, and if the buzz (and brand budget) is anything to go by, this mission’s already a success before its first intel drop.

  • Hyundai celebrates 10 years of Creta with a story-sharing contest

Hyundai celebrates 10 years of Creta with a story-sharing contest

MUMBAI: A million journeys, a million stories and now Hyundai wants to hear yours, with prizes in tow. To celebrate a decade of Creta-fuelled adventures, Hyundai Motor India has shifted into nostalgia mode with a nationwide digital contest called ‘Creta X Memories’, inviting owners and fans to share their fondest moments with the SUV that has logged over 1.2 million sales since its 2015 launch.

Whether it’s that monsoon road trip gone sideways, the family’s first highway holiday, or a parking-lot proposal, Hyundai wants your story and maybe a photo or video to prove it. The rules are simple: pen down your Creta memory in 150 words or more and email it to cretamemories@hmil.net before July 31, 2025.

The best entries will win some rather enviable perks. Top storytellers get to meet brand ambassador Deepika Padukone, while others drive off with prizes like Apple iPhones, exclusive vouchers, and Creta merchandise. Select heartwarming tales will also be featured on Hyundai’s social media, taking your Creta story from garage to grid.

According to HMIL  AVP & vertical head of marketing Virat Khullar, this isn’t just a contest, it’s a tribute to the emotional mileage the SUV has racked up. “Creta isn’t just a vehicle, it’s a symbol of aspiration and emotional connection for over a million Indian families,” he said.

Ten years on, Creta remains more than just four wheels and a badge. It’s a photo album on wheels, a road trip playlist, and for many, a trusted co-pilot through life’s big and small milestones. ‘Creta X Memories’ puts that sentiment in the spotlight, celebrating not just a product, but the people who made it iconic.

So if your SUV’s seen it all from dhol-filled baraats to roadside breakdowns this might be your moment to take the driver’s seat in Hyundai’s hall of fame. And maybe, just maybe, score a selfie with Deepika too.

  • Deal or dil Pankaj Tripathi says you’ll still drive off in a Hyundai

Deal or dil Pankaj Tripathi says you’ll still drive off in a Hyundai

MUMBAI: What happens when your heart wants the features and your wallet loves the discounts? According to Hyundai Motor India Limited’s latest campaign, you win either way because “Listen to your Dil or the Deals. You will bring home a Hyundai!”

Featuring Hyundai’s new brand ambassador Pankaj Tripathi, the campaign is a delightful spin on the everyday car-buying dilemma. Set in a friendly neighbourhood and packed with Tripathi’s trademark wit, the TVC sees the actor cheekily flaunt his Hyundai Exter’s smart features, playfully questioning whether his neighbour’s car matches up or at the very least, came with better deals. Spoiler: it didn’t.

Backed by Hyundai’s core values of trust, innovation, and value, the campaign aims to connect with both the head and the heart. “It’s more than a tagline, it’s a celebration of Hyundai’s promise to offer feature-packed, reliable vehicles that delight customers,” said HMIL vertical head of marketing Virat Khullar. Launched well ahead of the festive season, the initiative strategically seeks to influence intent and early consideration in a crowded market.

The 360-degree campaign will hit TV, print, digital, and radio, and reach even deeper with regional TVCs in seven Indian languages Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu.

While the humour keeps things light, the message is serious: whether you’re wooed by your dil or lured by a great deal, a Hyundai is always the right choice. Because behind every Hyundai is not just an engine but a promise of care, technology, and trust that goes the distance.
