    Eros Now inks content acquisition deal with Pakistan’s Hum TV

    MUMBAI: Eros Now has inked an exclusive content acquisition deal with Pakistan’s on air and digital content company, Hum TV.

     

    The deal gives Eros Now users access to Hum TV’s entire library, including the current shows at no extra subscription cost. The deal also gives Eros Now subscribers in India an exclusive opportunity to view the content 48 hours prior to its telecast on any other platform.

     

    Hum TV is a 24-hour entertainment TV channel in Pakistan, which provides programming across a wide spectrum of genres. Eros Now users will be privy to some of Hum TV’s television shows like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Humsafar and Dastaan.

     

    Eros Now CEO Rishika Lulla Singh said, “We are extremely happy to introduce Pakistan’s popular soaps to a new digital generation of South Asians globally and add to our roster of content. The partnership with a leading channel like Hum will give our subscribers an opportunity to view the much sought after and varied Pakistani content.”

    Another Pakistani actor enters Bollywood

    MUMBAI: After Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, one more Pakistani actor is set to make his debut in Bollywood.

     

    Shehroz Sabzwari will be seen in Riingo Banerjee’s upcoming film Luv Story.

     

    The 29-year-old actor was chosen by producer Shamik Basu after watching his Hum TV Awards performance. Sabzwari will be playing a challenging role of a slightly mentally off character and will undertake workshops to prepare for his character.

     

    The project will start early next year.

     

    The film, which also stars Riya Sen, Zarina Wahab, Aryann, Bidita Beg and Mukesh Tiwari among others, revolves around three friends – Luv (Sabzwari), Madan Chetri (Aryann) and Kushali (Beg), who grow up in an orphanage in Kalimpong and the dynamics of their relationships. Wahab’s character adopts Luv after her son’s death.

    PEMRA fines channels for excessive Indian content

    MUMBAI: 10 Pakistani entertainment channels have been imposed with a fine of PKR 1 million each by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) for violating the code of conduct by airing excessive foreign content.

     

    According to a document issued by the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, the local channels have been caught with airing excessive Indian content from the prescribed Pemra limits, thus violating the code of conduct and code of advertising.

     

    The channels that have been held include: Hum TV, Oxygen TV, Play TV, Kohinoor Entertainment, TV One Entertainment, NTV Entertainment, GXM Entertainment, Jalwa Entertainment. While private TV channels of the country have been authorised to air only 10 per cent foreign content and 60 per cent of that 10 per cent should be Indian or other content and 40 per cent of the 10 per cent may be English content, the channels in Pakistan have been found to flout that rule.
    Apart from the Rs 1 million fine, the TV channels have also been issued warning letters to desist from such practice in future.

    Pak’s Hum TV website hacked second time on allegations of vulgarity

    NEW DELHI: Pakistani’s Hum TV’s website was hacked recently on the grounds that the TV channel shows vulgar content which it should not.

    Firstly reported by hackerpost, the site was hacked few hours ago and it still shows the message by the admin of the site, who probably has taken back the control, ‘The website is down for maintenance and we will be back soon’.

    This is the second time in recent months that Hum TV’s website has been hacked and this time, it is hacked By Exploiterz, Anon Cop, Ch3rn0By1 that’s what it was mentioned on the home page of the channel.

    Hackers compiled the images from different dramas and shows of Hum TV they think are not appropriate, made a collage and put it on the defaced page with a message underneath, ‘And then we complain why there are so frequent earthquakes’, ‘We do not want Vulgarity in Pakistan’ was a clear message from the group which is being named as Pak Mad Hunters.
