    HUL regains top spot in first week of 2022: Barc

    Mumbai: After lagging behind Reckitt Benckiser (RB) for two consecutive weeks, Hindustan Lever Ltd (HUL) has regained the top position in the first week of 2022. According to data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc), HUL delivered ad volumes of 4551.67 for the period of 1-7 January.

    The FMCG giant was the consistent top performer in 2021. It was trumped by RB in the last two weeks of the year by huge margins. While RB was at 3005.75 in week 52 (25-31 December 2021), HUL’s score was 1914.69. The corresponding figures for week 51 were 3322.98 (RB) and 2059.20 (HUL).

    Coming back to this week, RB was at the second position once again with 3022.09 ad volumes. At 1160.97 (‘000s) Ponds India was third.

    Brooke Bond Lipton India, Cadburys India, Procter & Gamble, Godrej Consumer Products, ITC Ltd., Amazon Online India, and Colgate Palmolive India were at the No. four to ten.

    Among the brands, Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean led the list with ad volumes of 608.55. It was followed by Dettol Antiseptic Liquid (550.43) and Horlicks (356.19) in the second and third positions.

    The remaining slots were grabbed by Dettol Toilet Soaps, Lizol All in 1, Clinic Plus Shampoo, Harpic Bathroom Cleaner, Vanish Oxi Action, Ultratech Cement and Almond Board of California (new entrant).

    Mumbai: Hindustan Lever (HUL) has emerged as the top advertiser in week 50 (11 December to 17 December) in the recently released weekly Barc data. The FMCG giant delivered ad volumes of 3466.83 (‘000s), slightly less than last week’s 3975.65. Reckitt Benckiser (India) was second with 3439.56 (‘000s). At 1100.13 Ponds India finished third.

    The top three firms were followed by Cadbury’s India, Godrej Consumer Products, and Marico. Facebook Inc – the only digital brand in the FMCG-dominated list which was at the tenth position last week was at number seven in week 50. The remaining three spots were grabbed by Brooke Bond Lipton India Glaxo SmithKline and Procter & Gamble.

    Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean led the brands’ list with ad volumes of 593.78. Lizol and Ultratech Cement jumped to the second and third slots from their last week’s positions at number four and five respectively.

    They were followed by Dettol Antiseptic Liquid, Harpic Bathroom Cleaner, Instagram Reels (No.10 in week 49), Clinic Plus Shampoo, Veet Men Hair Removal Cream, and Dettol Disinfectant Spray. The consistent top-performer Horlicks finished last this week.

    Mumbai: According to recently released Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) data, Hindustan Lever Ltd was the top advertiser in week 49 (4 December to 10 December). The FMCG giant delivered ad volumes of 3975.65 (‘000s). Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd was second with 3289.84 (‘000s). At 1142.54 Ponds India finished third.

    The top three firms were followed by Cadbury’s India Ltd, Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Procter & Gamble, and Colgate Palmolive India Ltd and Marico Ltd.

    Facebook Inc, the only exception to the FMCG-dominated list, finished last with ad volumes of 451.31 (‘000s).

    Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean led the brands’ list at 523.82 (‘000s). Horlicks and Dettol Antiseptic Liquid were in the second and third positions. Lizol, Ultratech Cement, Clinic Plus Shampoo, Harpic Bathroom Cleaner, Surf Excel Easy Wash, and Brooke Bond Bru Instant followed in that order.

    Instagram Reels was the new entrant in the tenth position.

    Mumbai: With ad volumes of 5074.45 (‘000s), Hindustan Lever Ltd (HUL) was the most prolific advertiser in week 44 (30 October to 5 November) according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) data. Reckitt Benckiser grabbed the second spot at 1480.15.

    At the third to ninth positions were Ponds India, Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Procter & Gamble, Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd, Cadbury India Ltd, and Colgate Palmolive India Ltd. Lakme Lever Ltd was the new entrant at the tenth spot with ad volumes of 416.15 (‘000s).

    Horlicks was the most advertised brand in week 44 with ad volumes of 443.06 (‘000s). At 319.42 Clinic Plus Shampoo was second. It was followed by Brooke Bond Bru Instant (260.48) at the third position.

    Amazon Prime Video, Lalithaa Jewellery, Amazon India, Surf Excel Easy Wash, Close Up Ever Fresh (new) Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Body Lotion (new), and Boost followed.

    Mumbai: With ad volumes of 4600.63 Hindustan Lever Ltd (HUL) was the top advertiser in week 43 (23 – 29 October) according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) data. Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd (3121.31) and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (900.75) were in the second and third positions, respectively.

    They were followed by Ponds India, Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd, ITC Ltd, Cadbury’s India Ltd, Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd, Coca-Cola India Ltd, and Colgate Palmolive India Ltd.

    Among the brands, HUL’s Horlicks was the top performer delivering ad volumes of 473.75 (‘000s). Dettol Toilet Soaps, Lalithaa Jewellery, and Veet Men Hair Removal Cream grabbed the next three slots.

    Fanta was the new entrant at the number five. It was followed by Harpic Bathroom Cleaner, Amazon Prime Video, and Clinic Plus Shampoo.

    Debuting at number nine, was Tata’s new SUV Tata Punch. Dettol Antiseptic Liquid finished last.

    Effie Awards India ’21: The Ogilvy Group, Mondelez India bag the Grand Effie

    Mumbai: Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) was judged the Effie Client of the Year, while McCann Worldgroup India was named Effie India Agency of the Year in the latest edition of the “Effie Awards India 2021” hosted by The Advertising Club in a virtual ceremony on Friday night. 

    The coveted Grand Effie was won by The Ogilvy Group and contributing agency, Wavemaker India, for Cadbury Dairy Milk’s campaign “Melting Power Distance” under the ‘Integrated Advertising Campaign: Products’ category.

    HUL bagged ten medals, including four gold, three silver, and three bronze. Some of the most successful creatives of the brand were “H for Handwashing” and “Use Any Soap” both released during the pandemic to promote handwashing by the brand Lifebuoy. 

    McCann Worldgroup India took home a total of 30 medals, including one gold, nine silver, and four bronze. The group also won gold for its Dettol campaign “Using Virality to Fight The Virus” in the ‘Influencer Marketing’ category. Other top agencies to win big were Ogilvy, MullenLowe Lintas, DDB Mudra, and Leo Burnett.

    The other top clients were Mondelez, RB, ITC, and Nestle. 

    The awards that celebrated the finest brands and ground-breaking campaigns in the year gone by were presented by Colors, powered by MX Player and Aditya Birla Capital was a category sponsor of the virtually held event.

    This year, The Ad Club received a record 950 entries and saw participation from 51 agencies. “Looking at the cases that have won here today, you will know for a fact that this is the highest level of award in this country,” said The Advertising Club president, Partha Sinha, speaking about the participants and winners at the awards.

    “Effie India today is the most definitive award in the country – and is revered by both the client and the agency. I want to thank every single member of the jury, the participating agencies, and the sponsors. You know that this award has reached the level thanks to all of you. Let the celebrations continue but more importantly let the effective culture continue. As I had mentioned before we are going to hold Effie effectiveness workshops in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.     Mumbai: With ad volumes of 4257.91, FMCG major Hindustan Lever Ltd (HUL) continued to lead Barc’s top advertiser tally in week 42 (16-22 October). Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd was at the second position with 3476.66 (‘000s).

    Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, which usually languished at the last five slots, jumped to the third in week 42. It was followed by Cadbury’s India Ltd, Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd, Ponds India, ITC Ltd, Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd, and Colgate Palmolive India Ltd. Marico Ltd registered a fresh entry at number 10.

    Maintaining the lead with 412.16 (‘000s) HUL’s Horlicks was the top advertised brand in week 42. Dettol Toilet Soaps and Amazon India were at the second and third positions.

    Veet Men Hair Removal Cream was the new entrant at number four.  In a striking development, Dettol, which used to be among the top three performers generally, slipped to the last position. In between, the chart was populated by Lalithaa Jewellery, Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean, Dettol Antiseptic Liquid, Disney+ Hotstar, and Moov Pain Balm.

    Mumbai: FMCG giant Hindustan Lever Ltd (HUL) was the top advertiser in Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) week 40 (2 to 8 October 2021) delivering ad volumes of 4779.73 (‘000s). With 3267.96 (‘000s) Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd was at the second position. Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd (1002.43) stood third.

    Cadburys India Ltd, Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Ponds India, Flipkart.com (new entrant), Procter & Gamble, and Coca-Cola India Ltd bagged the remaining spots.

    With 782.06 (‘000s) Amazon India maintained the lead as the most advertised brand for the third consecutive week. Flipkart.com (517.91) was the new entrant in the brands’ list as well, albeit at the second position.

    Horlicks, Dettol Toilet Soap, Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean, Harpic Bathroom Cleaner, Lizol, Clinic Plus Shampoo, Coca Cola and Boost followed, in that order.

    After a short stint lasting three weeks, Disney+ Hotstar dropped out of the brands’ list in week 40. Riding the IPL wave, the OTT brand debuted at the sixth spot in week 37.

    Mumbai: Hindustan Lever Ltd led the top-ten advertisers list in Barc week 38 (between 18 and 24 September). The FMCG major recorded total ad volume of 5097.68 (‘000s). Reckitt Benckiser India Ltd stood second at 3912.86 (‘000s).

    Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd replaced Cadbury India Ltd at the third position, registering ad volume of 966.61(‘000s). Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd was the only digital and non-FMCG brand on the list, featuring at the fifth spot.

    ITC Ltd, Colgate Palmolive India Ltd, Coca Cola India Ltd, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, and Ponds India followed at the remaining five slots.

    Among the brands, the ad blitz launched by online marketplace Amazon India to encash the festive season landed the e-tailer at the top spot in the most advertised brands list of week 38 with ad volume of 651.4 (‘000s).

    Horlicks and Dettol Toilet Soap grabbed the second and third positions respectively. Disney+ Hotstar moved up two positions after debuting last week. The OTT platform stood fourth at 373.64 (‘000s). Dettol, Lizol, Dettol Antiseptic Liquid, and Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean followed at the next four spots.

    Moov Strong Diclofenac Gel and Moov Pain Balm were the new entrants at the last two positions.

    HUL leads advertiser’s tally in week 37: Barc

    Mumbai: FMCG major Hindustan Lever Ltd (HUL) led the top-ten advertisers list in Barc week 37 (11 – 17 September) with total ad volumes of 4718.72. Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd was a close second at 4028.89 (‘000s). Cadbury India stood third at 944.54.

    Brooke Bond Lipton India, ITC Ltd, Godrej Consumer Products, Colgate Palmolive India, Amazon Online India, Procter and Gamble, and GCMMF followed at the remaining seven positions in that order.

    Among the brands Dettol Toilet Soap led the tally with ad volumes of 542.01.

    Video streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar stood out in the FMCG-dominated list at the sixth spot with 349.3 (‘000s). Amazon India (329.66) and Reliance Digital (304.61) broke the monotony at the eighth and tenth positions respectively.

    Rest of the list was populated by FMCG brands including Lizol, Harpic Power Plus 10X Max Clean, Dettol, Dettol Antiseptic Liquid, and Harpic Bathroom Cleaner.
