    Music and religious genres the only gainers: Chrome week 40

    MUMBAI: The music genre in Hindi-speaking market (HSM) led the pack with a growth of 0.4 per cent with Sony Mix at the top of the chart with 90.8 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 40 reported by Chrome Data Analytics and Media. Second on the list is the religious HSM, which witnessed 0.2 per cent growth. Aastha bagged the pole position in the section with 98.6 per cent OTS.

    Amongst the losers this week were — sports, English movies, kids and Hindi news genres. The sports section across India witnessed a drop of 2.4 per cent with DD sports securing the first position with 90.9 per cent OTS. English movies in six metros dropped by 2.1 per cent with Movies Now securing the top slot with 49.1 per cent OTS.

    The kids genre across India dropped by 1.2 per cent. Cartoon Network with 81.3 emerged as the most affected channel in the genre. This was followed by the Hindi news genre, which saw a fall of 0.8 per cent and bagged the fourth berth with India TV leading the tally with 98.3 OTS.

    MUMBAI: The business news and English movies genres were the only two losers in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis in six metros in week 36. The business news genre witnessed a drop of 1.2 per cent and CNBC Awaaz bagged the first spot in the genre with 83.0 per cent OTS.

    Next in the list was the English movie segment that dropped by 1.0 per cent with Movies Now as the most affected category with 46.7. English news, religious infotainment and sports genres were among the gainers of week 36.

    English news genre led the pack in the six metros with a growth of 1.6 per cent with Loksabha TV at the top of the chart with 92.6 per cent OTS. Second on the list is the religious genre in Hindi-speaking market (HSM), which witnessed 0.7 per cent growth. Aastha bagged the pole position in the section with 97.7 per cent OTS.

    Infotainment genre secured the third berth across India with 0.5 per cent OTS with History TV18 leading the genre with 86.1 per cent OTS.

    Sports genre across India grabbed the fourth position with 0.5 per cent, with DD sports topping the list with 88.7 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: The English movies genre emerged as the gainer in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis in six metros cities by registering an increase of two per cent. Movies Now was the leader with 47.2 per cent OTS in week 35.

    Next up, the English entertainment genre with a 1.7 per cent gain in the same market took the second spot in the list of top gainers. Comedy Central led the tally with 46.0 per cent OTS.

    The Business news channels’ genre in the same market too noted a growth of 1.7 per cent with CNBC Awaaz emerging as the chart topper with 82.4 per cent OTS.

    Last but not the least, Religious channels in the Hindi speaking market observed a 0.7 per cent rise with Aastha in the number one slot with 97.9 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 1.8 per cent, the English News channels’ genre in the six metros topped the loser category with Lok Sabha TV scoring 92.5 per cent OTS.

    On the other hand, with a drop of 1.1 per cent, the Hindi GEC genre in HSM was in the second spot with Star Utsav registering a 97.1 per cent OTS.

    The Hindi Movies genre in an identical market recorded 1.1 per cent drop with Max a scoring a 92.5 per cent OTS. With the drop of 0.6 per cent Music genre in same market stood last in the list with 9 XM in the number one slot with 90.2 per cent OTS.

    Next up, the English entertainment genre with a 1.7 per cent gain in the same market took the second spot in the list of top gainers. Comedy Central led the tally with 46.0 per cent OTS.

    The Business news channels’ genre in the same market too noted a growth of 1.7 per cent with CNBC Awaaz emerging as the chart topper with 82.4 per cent OTS.

    Last but not the least, Religious channels in the Hindi speaking market observed a 0.7 per cent rise with Aastha in the number one slot with 97.9 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 1.8 per cent, the English News channels’ genre in the six metros topped the loser category with Lok Sabha TV scoring 92.5 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: Even after a dip in ratings Star Plus continued to lead both the Urban and Rural Hindi speaking markets, whereas Star India’s free to air channel Star Utsav witnessed a rise in ratings and maintained its leadership position in week 31 as per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data.

    Urban + Rural HSM

    Even after witnessing a fall in ratings, Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel genre with 659591 Impressions (000s) against 685886 Impressions (000s).  Zee TV too witnessed a fall in ratings but maintained its second position with 601034 Impressions (000s) against 611276 Impressions (000s) in the previous week, followed by Colors on third spot with 547974 Impressions (000s).

    Star India’s free to air channel Star Utsav grabbed the fourth position with 528083 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol to fifth place with 506040 Impressions (000s).

    Life OK stood at sixth with 423412 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal at number seven with 385152 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television at number eight with 357635 Impressions (000s). Sab TV on number nine with 341480 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 277343 Impressions (000s).

    Rural HSM

    In week 31, Star Utsav maintained its leadership position with 406447 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol  at second position with 386582 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on the third spot with 292452 Impressions (000s). Zee TV maintained its fourth position with 266608 Impressions (000s).

    Star Plus garnered fifth place with 205941 Impressions (000s)  and Rishtey bagged sixth spot with 202866 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 172076 Impressions (000s). Life Ok stood at eight with 148762 Impressions (000s) followed by  Big Magic at ninth place with 107100 impressions (000s) while Sony Entertainment Television stood tenth 103025 Impressions (000s).

    Urban HSM

    Star Plus garnered the pole  position with 453650 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at second place with 3375898 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV with 334426 Impressions (000s) stood at number three.

    Life OK grabbed the fourth spot with 274650 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Entertainment Television at fifth with 254610 Impressions (000s) and Sab TV with 251009 Impressions (000s).

    In urban HSM,  &TV maintained its number seven position with 152933 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Utsav with 121635 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Zee Anmol bagged ninth spot with 119457 Impressions (000s).  Sony Pal  bagged tenth spot with 92700 Impressions (000s).

    Next up, the English news genre which recorded an increase of 0.9 per cent in six metros with Lok Sabha TV leading the genre with 92.2 per cent OTS.

    On the other hand, Music in the Hindi Speaking Market (HSM) booked the third spot in the list of top gainers with a 0.7 per cent increase in OTS. 9XM led the tally with 90.6 per cent OTS.

    Last but not the least, English entertainment in the six metros observed a growth of 0.6 per cent. Star World emerged as the chart topper with 44.7 per cent OTS.

    Meanwhile, witnessing a drop of 0.1 per cent, the Hindi GEC genre in HSM topped the loser category with DD National scoring 97.4 per cent OTS.

    On the other hand, with a drop of 0.1 per cent, the Hindi movies genre in an identical market was in the second spot with Max emerging as the most affectedC channel with 91.8 per cent OTS.
