    JioStar names Purnajit Gupta as executive director of human resources – entertainment

    MUMBAI: Purnajit Gupta has joined JioStar as executive director of human resources for its entertainment business, encompassing television, studio and digital operations in Mumbai.

    Gupta shifted from Disney Star India, where he served as executive director of HR for sports and regional networks. Prior to Disney, he held senior HR roles at Star TV Network for nearly six years, rising to vice president of HR for Star Sports.

    His previous experience includes leadership positions at Abbott India as director of HR, Piramal Healthcare as general manager of HR, and brief stints at Diageo India and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.

    MUMBAI: Sonam Chopra, a seasoned HR professional with over a decade of experience in talent acquisition and human resource management, has been appointed vice president, talent acquisition (non-technology) at Morgan Stanley.

    Having been with Morgan Stanley for over seven years, Chopra previously served as director, talent acquisition, and talent acquisition lead, where she played a pivotal role in developing recruitment strategies, identifying top-tier talent, and aligning HR initiatives with business goals.

    Before joining Morgan Stanley, she held leadership positions at Blend Financial Services, where she managed HR operations for a global workforce, and AIMS International, where she specialised in executive search for BFSI and e-commerce sectors. Her extensive experience also includes leadership hiring across industries such as IT, infrastructure, real estate, and commodity trading at Positive Moves.

    In her new role, Chopra will lead strategic talent acquisition initiatives, drive diversity and inclusion efforts, and continue enhancing Morgan Stanley’s employer brand to attract top talent in the financial sector.

    Zoom lays off 2 per cent of its workforce

    Mumbai – Zoom Video Communications, a renowned tech company decided to lay off 150 people which is around 2 per cent of its workforce. According to media reports Zoom Company confirmed the layoff of its workplace. In the last February Zoom terminated or cancelled 1300 positions which is 15 per cent of its total workforce. Lay off news reported initially by Bloomberg.

    Company decided to restructure its hiring requirements and plan to hire people in future for critical functioning. Many other companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Salesforce had been laid off recently for reworking their internal strategies. The reason for the layoff is not into the public domain but a company spokesperson emphasising as a regular internal strategic decision.

    Mumbai: Global cloud-based audio and video streaming platform Muvi has announced a virtual recruitment drive, scheduled for 25 June 2022, from 10 am – 2:30 pm. Through its recruitment drive, the company plans to reach out to over 500 professionals focusing on hiring one skill each day and recruiting at least 50 to 60 people by the end of the drive.

    The virtual walk-in drive is focused on hiring across a variety of roles in technology, including automation engineers, software developers/PHP developers/JAVA developers/javascript developers/PHP fullstack developers and other roles. The company is looking for experienced professionals with relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a similar field.     Mumbai: Pyxis One, a global startup that provides AI infrastructure for marketing and business growth, has appointed Albino Mascarenhas to lead the human resources division in India.

    Bajwa has eight years of experience across talent functions like total rewards, business partnering and HR shared services in companies across telecom and FMCG.

Adding Bajwa to the team is part of their plans to identify and implement long-term strategic talent management goals, the company said on Thursday. Bajwa has years of experience at Airtel and Reckitt under his belt.

    TVS Credit provides financial aid to families of employees succumbing to Covid

    Mumbai: Financial services provider TVS Credit Services Ltd has extended additional financial assistance under its Employee welfare program – Parivaar to support employees during the health crisis.

    The company had added several benefits to the welfare program during the initial outbreak of the pandemic. This included plans to provide monetary compensation equal to three years of the employee’s salary to the families of employees who lost their lives in the pandemic. It also provided three years of family medical insurance and a dedicated financial adviser to guide the family on managing the fund effectively.

    Elaborating further on the program, TVS Credit Jayashubha K, chief people officer said, “While we understand that no financial aid or assistance can compensate for the loss of loved ones, it is important for us as an organization to reassure and provide security to the families while they overcome the bereavement. Since the surge in Covid-19 cases across India, several families of our employees struck with the misfortune have been assisted. We are committed to continue our efforts and support our employees to get through these unprecedented times.”

    It has also introduced various other welfare initiatives which includes special insurance schemes to cover Covid centric hospitalization and medical expenses and assistance in emergency consultation for the employees and their family members. To provide additional help, the organization has also set up a Covid helpdesk & support centers in Maharashtra, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh to assist with immediate medical treatment and provide emergency support to the ones in need.
