    ZELIO Ebikes to strengthen team with 50 new hires by 2024 end

    Mumbai: ZELIO Ebikes, a leading EV two-wheeler startup, has announced an ambitious hiring initiative to expand its workforce by the end of 2024. Currently employing 125 team members, the company plans to add 50 more, bringing the total to an impressive 175.     Mumbai: Global cloud-based audio and video streaming platform Muvi has announced a virtual recruitment drive, scheduled for 25 June 2022, from 10 am – 2:30 pm. Through its recruitment drive, the company plans to reach out to over 500 professionals focusing on hiring one skill each day and recruiting at least 50 to 60 people by the end of the drive.

    The virtual walk-in drive is focused on hiring across a variety of roles in technology, including automation engineers, software developers/PHP developers/JAVA developers/javascript developers/PHP fullstack developers and other roles. The company is looking for experienced professionals with relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a similar field.     Cleartrip makes slew of executive appointments amid 2022 growth plans

    Mumbai: Online travel company Cleartrip on Monday announced a series of senior appointments to spearhead the company’s aggressive growth plans and focus on the execution of strategic priorities for 2022. The appointments include the heads of strategy, hotels & accommodation, flights, corporate communications, and B2B.

    The hiring encompasses redefining the organisational culture and strengthening values in line with the growth plans, the travel company said in a statement. “With these appointments, the company is gearing us for its next phase of growth across its business verticals and further plans to ramp up its employee strength by 60 per cent by the end of the year,” it added.

    Gaurav Patwari has been named VP – air category. He will use his 16 years of rich experience in the travel and aviation industry to help further build Cleartrip’s air travel vertical. He will be responsible for meeting the air business’s P&L targets while also developing a multi-year strategy for the company’s evolution and expansion. Patwari was most recently associated with GoFirst.

    Karthick Prabhu D, the newly appointed Cleartrip head of strategy, has been a part of the travel tech industry for over 17 years with various travel brands such as Treebo hotels, Sabre, IDS Next, to name a few. As a product management leader, he has helped launch products that solve customer pain points, boost revenue, introduced an industry-first product as a tablet-based property management system, and got one of the apps featured in the ‘Best In India’ category in the Apple Appstore and Google Play Store.

    Flipkart veteran Manu Sasidharan who has taken over as senior director – hotels and accommodation was the business head of Myntra’s men’s fashion segment prior to joining Cleartrip. He has worked with companies such as General Motors India and Bajaj Auto. He intends to use his diverse expertise to structurally rebuild and relaunch the hotels and accommodation category, with a strong emphasis on greater customer experience.

    Divya Kumar has been appointed as director of public relations. In her new role, she will focus on building and spearheading the development, advancement and execution of the company’s corporate communications strategy. She was previously leading the public relations and sustainability mandate at AirAsia India. Before joining the field of corporate communications, Kumar started her career at NDTV Hindu, in the news & events department. Throughout her career spanning over 11 years, she has worked closely with the senior leadership team as a strategic advisor providing in-depth expertise in change management, crisis response, maneuvering corporate and consumer crises.

    A Cleartrip veteran with over 21 years of experience, Sukesh Shetty has been roped in to head the B2B and API business, with a focus to bring automation and growth in the online B2B travel experiences. In his previous stint, Shetty was the co-founder of Tripsforbusiness, a B2B focused travel tech platform involved in building a content-rich, metasearch and book travel product for B2B customers. His journey resumes with the purpose of contributing to the success of the B2B business at Cleartrip.

    MUMBAI: Sports tech company Dream Sports will hire over 250 employees this year at a time when job losses and pay cuts are part of the new normal due to the Covid2019 pandemic. Out of this 180 would be for Dream11. The company’s other brands include FanCode and DreamX.

    The company has already hired 80 sportans since January 2020, and continues to look for talents across various levels.

    Dream Sports chief human resources officer Kevin Freitas told Indiantelevision.com that the company is looking for hiring tech-savvy and sports-loving engineers, designers and product managers for all its brands: Dream11, FanCode, and DreamX. “We will be hiring in departments of technology, design and product teams for roles such as SDEs, data scientists, business analysts, product managers and designers, and other functions include finance, legal, HR, and customer service.”

    “We are looking for applicants who are data-obsessed, who will take ownership, and are dedicated to high performance. We want an employee who can put the user first and believe in transparency,” says Freitas.

    Though the vacancies are technology-related, the company seeks candidates who understand and have an interest in sports, but not as requisite eligibility. Currently, Dream Sports has over 350 employees across Dream11, FanCode, and DreamX.

    Dream11, the primary product of Dream Sports, is a fantasy sports platform based in India that allows users to play fantasy cricket, hockey, football, American football, kabaddi, basketball, volleyball, baseball, handball.     Hiring activity sees 8 per cent rise in November in Kolkata, says Naukri.com

    KOLKATA: Kolkata has witnessed a 8 per cent increase in the Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of November 2014. The hiring activity witnessed a 13 per cent rise year-on-year in November with all key sectors led by accounting and telecom registering robust growth, says a report.

     The Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of November 2014 stood at 1,471, indicating a 13 per cent growth in hiring as compared with the same month a year ago.

     A monthly comparison, however, shows a decline of 3.09 per cent in hiring, when compared with October 2014.

     “With the economic situation improving gradually, businesses are optimistic and we are hopeful that hiring activity will step up further in the coming months,” said Info edge (India) managing director and CEO Hitesh Oberoi.

     Most sectors registered year-on year-growth in the Naukri Job Speak Index in the month of November 2014.

     Accounting and telecom were the most bullish sectors followed by banking, ITeS and pharma. Sectors such as retail, insurance and healthcare also witnessed a significant increase in hiring in November.

     Fuelled by the growth of the internet sector, the demand for web designing candidates also grew by 30 per cent in the same period. Following very closely were the accounts and finance professionals.

     According to city-wise analysis, all metro cities have seen revival in the hiring activity and the maximum growth was registered in Pune and Chennai, followed by Bangalore and Mumbai.

    Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad witnessed a 14 per cent growth each in the same period while Kolkata witnessed 8 per cent increase in the Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of November 2014.

     The demand for professionals in the HR and administration verticals registered the maximum growth among other prominent functional areas.

    MUMBAI: After quitting India TV and joining News Express as CEO, Vinod Kapri has been working on getting his A team together. The latest to be recruited is  media professional Sanjeev Kumar who will be heading  the channel’s network sales.

     

    Kumar has over seven years of experience, the last being as the country head for ANN7 in South Africa. He has also worked as a vice president of sales at Zee News handling the channels Zee News, Zee UP/UK, Zee Punjabi, Zee MPCG. He was also associated with the Outlook group and Bennet Coleman and Co.

     

    Kapri says, “Sanjeev Kumar has a very rich experience of media sales and is a step further in our endeavour to build a team of best professionals in media.”

     

    He has already beefed up the channel’s editorial and managerial teams and is also focusing on improving  its distribution.  Amit Tripathi was earlier roped in as COO, Satish K Singh as the editor, Ravikant Mittal as managing editor and Jacob Matthew as executive editor.

     

    While the channel isn’t available on a lot of platforms as of now, it has struck a deal with one of India’s  biggest DTH operators – Tata Sky – recently. Close to 11 million subscribers will get to watch News Express from 5 February onwards.
