    BARC Week 19: Times Now, ET Now, India TV, CNBC Awaaz leaders in respective genres

    MUMBAI: According to week 19 of BARC India ratings, Times Now continued to top the English News genre with improved ratings. ET Now grabbed the top spot in English Business News yet again. In the Hindi News genre India TV continued at its number one position while CNBC Awaaz secured number one position this week also.

    English News

    Times now yet again dominated top position with improved rating of 378 Impressions (000s) as compared to 341 Impressions (000s) in week 18. India Today Television maintained its second spot with 160 Impressions (000s), as compared to 176 Impressions (000s) last week.

    NDTV 24×7 regained third spot with improved rating of 153 Impressions (000s), as compared to 132 Impressions (000s) in week 18.  CNN News 18 further dropped position and rating this week with 113 Impressions (000s). News 9 stood at fifth position with 92 Impressions (000s).

    English Business News

    ET Now grabbed top position but with a drop in rating, it garnered 100 Impressions (000s) as compared to 152 Impressions (000s). CNBC TV18 also saw a drop in rating  to less than half with 61 Impressions (000s) as compared to 129 Impressions (000s) last week and held second spot.

    NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime stood on same position as last week but with rise in rating, from 29 Impressions (000s) to 34 Impressions (000s) in week 19. Bloomberg was on last spot with 8 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi News

    India TV again topped the spot in its genre with 62387 Impressions (000s), followed by Aaj Tak with 58379 Impressions (000s) on second spot. ABP News garnered 35391 Impressions (000s) and took third position. India News repossessed its fourth spot with 30450 Impressions (000s) and News Nation dropped down to fifth position with 30136 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi Business News

    CNBC Awaaz held top position with 553 Impressions (000s), followed by Zee Business with 377 Impressions (000s) on second spot.

    MUMBAI: According to week 16 of  Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), HSM (U+R) : NCCS AB : Males 22+ Individuals ratings, CNBC TV 18 continued to hold on to its number one position in the English Business News space. Despite a drop in ratings, Times Now also clung to the pole position in the English News genre.  Like the previous week, India TV and CNBC Awaaz topped their respective genres in week 16.

    Times Now dominated the English News genre in week 16, but with a significant drop in ratings with 284 Impressions (000s), in comparison to 442 Impressions (000s) of week 15. CNN News 18 followed Times Now with 176 Impressions (000s). India Today Television ranked third with 136 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24×7 grabbed fourth position with 115 Impressions (000s) and News 9 was on fifth spot with 77 Impressions (000s).

    CNBC TV 18 continued to dominate the English Business News space with 121 Impressions (000s), ET now secured second position with 85 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime was on third spot with 32 Impressions (000s) and Bloomberg TV was at fourth position with 9 Impressions (000s).

    Not only did India TV continue its hold on the top spot with 70714 Impressions (000s),  it saw a growth in ratings when compared to 66780 Impression from week 15.

    Aaj Tak grabbed the second position with 62962 Impressions (000s). India News stood at third position with 38697 Impressions (000s), followed by ABP News with 38496 Impressions (000s) at the fourth spot.

    News Nation was at the fifth place with 35791 Im Ipressions (000s).

The entire English News space observed mixed ratings this week.India TV took the first spot in Hindi News space this week. According to week 15 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India ratings, CNBC Awaz continued to lead the Hindi business news genre.

    Times Now continued to rule the English news genre with an increase in the ratings with 442 Impressions (‘000s) as compared to 306 (‘000s) in week 14. A newly revamped CNN-News18 climbed up the row and grabbed the second place with 184 Impressions (‘000s). India Today Television took the third position with 172 Impressions (‘000s), while NDTV 24×7 witnessed an increase in the ratings and stood at the fourth place with160 Impressions (‘000s) as compared to 92 Impressions (‘000s) in week 14. News X bagged the fifth position with 97 Impressions (‘000s).

    CNBC TV 18 toppled ET Now securing the first position with 154 Impressions (‘000s). ET Now took the second spot with 150 Impressions (‘000s) followed by NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime at the third position with 36 Impressions (‘000s) while Bloomberg TV maintained its fourth position with a downfall in ratings to 8 Impressions (‘000s) as compared with 15 Impressions (‘000s) in week 14.

Aaj Tak with 62473 Impressions (000s) stood at the second position. India News took the third position with 39804 Impressions (000s). ABP news settled down at number four with 38516 Impressions (000s) while News Nation took the fifth berth with 34332 Impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: English Movies emerged as the most benefited genre with 4.9 percent growth. Movies Now was at the top of the chart with 54.5 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 11 as reported by Chrome Data Analytics & Media.

    Next in the tally was Business News in the six metros which witnessed growth of 3.8 per cent with CNBC Awaaz as the most benefited channel in the genre with 82. 6 per cent OTS.

    The sports genre bagged the third spot in the chart which saw growth of 3.6 per cent with DD Sports leading the genre with 80.0 per cent OTS on an all India basis. Last but but not the least, English News in the six metros grabbed the fourth slot with LokSabha TV topping the chart with 92.4 per cent OTS.

    Among the losers this week, the religious section recorded a fall of 1.8 per cent with Aastha, which emerged as the most affected channel in the genre with 94. 0 per cent OTS.

    English Entertainment in eight metros recorded a decline of 1.1 per cent and Comedy Central led the genre with 48. 2 per cent.  Third in the list was Infotainment on an all India basis which witnessed downfall of 1.0 per cent with History TV 18 topping the chart with 82.2 percent OTS.

    Hindi News in the Hindi speaking market (HSM) declined by 0.7 per cent and ABP news with 92.1 per cent OTS led the genre.

    In the Hindi news space Aaj Tak continued its lead while CNBC Awaaz grabbed the first spot in the business news genre. The English and Hindi news space observed decrease in their viewership while the business news genre saw an increase in the ratings.

News 9 with 106 (‘000s) entered the list at the fifth position.
