  • Zee TV, Anmol & Star Utsav climb, DD Nat exits two segments: BARC W26

    MUMBAI: Star Plus has retained its top positions in Hindi GEC (Urban + Rural) and Urban segments whereas Zee Anmol stay put in its rural segment, according to BARC’s all-India week 26’s ratings.

    Notable among the significant changes in the GEC genre this week were — DD National slipped from the fourth position to the ninth whereas Zee TV climbed from the seventh to the fourth position in the rural segment. DD National however completely exited GEC Urban and U+R segments.

    Star Utsav entered the Top 10 list whereas Sony Pal slipped from the third to the sixth position in GEC U+R. Zee Anmol entered the Top 10 channels’ list in the urban segment.

    Among the list of top GEC programmes in week 26, Kumkum Bhagya and Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs on Zee TV bagged the first and second positions with respectively 11149 and 9597 impressions (000s) Sum whereas Chandrakanta on Colors pocketed the third slot with 8679 impressions (000s) Sum.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Star Plus and Zee Anmol bagged the first and second slots this week with 603213 (000s) Impressions and 591440 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Rishtey replaced Sony Pal at number three with 583295 Impressions (000s). Colors grabbed the fourth slot with 556816 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee TV on number fifth with 556117 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on sixth with 530875 Impressions (000s).

    Sab TV maintained its seventh slot with 419934 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television garnered eighth spot with 363351 Impressions (000s).

    Life OK and Star Utsav stood at number nine and tenth with 339029 Impressions (000s) and 274686 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC – Rural

    Zee Anmol, Rishtey and Sony Pal came at the first, second and third positions respectively with 470357, 432128 and 375197 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively.

    Zee TV, Star Utsav, Star Plus and Colors bagged fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh spot with 215586 Impressions (000s), 207985 Impressions (000s), 193967 Impressions (000s) and 180325 Impressions (000s).

    Big Magic grabbed eight spot with 160138 Impressions (000s) followed by DD National with 122697 Impressions (000s) on ninth and Sab TV with  118889 Impressions (000s) on tenth spot.

    Hindi GEC – Urban

    Star Plus retained its first position with 409246 Impressions (000s) Sum followed by Colors with 376490 Impressions (000s) Sum at the second position.

    Zee TV retained its third position this week with 340530 Impressions (000s) followed by Sab TV on number fourth with 301045 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Entertainment Television, Life OK and Sony Pal bagged the fifth, sixth and seventh position, respectively, with 269822 Impressions (000s), 225984 Impressions (000s), and 155678 Impressions (000s).

    Rishtey, &TV and Zee Anmol  bagged the eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 151167, 140232, 121083 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively.

  • GEC: Star Plus regains lead, Sony Pal slips in two segments

    MUMBAI: Star Plus has regained its top position in Hindi GEC (U+R) this week. Last week’s leader Sony Pal fell to the third position in two segments (U+R and rural), according to BARC India week 25 ratings data. 

    Zee Anmol has remarkably jumped two slots each to the numero uno (rural) and second (U+R) positions respectively with approximately 10 per cent jump in ratings each whereas Star Plus has retained its top position in the GEC Urban. Colors too made a good leap from the seventh to the fifth position this week.

    Among the programmes on GEC channels, India-Pakistan ICC Champions trophy match on DD National    lead the list with 22525 Impressions (000s) Sum. Kumkum Bhagya and Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs both on Zee TV pocketed the second and third positions, respectively, with 9764 and 9523 22525 Impressions (000s) Sum.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Star Plus, Zee Anmol and Sony Pal have bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively, with 593712, 580287 and 560468 Impressions (000s) Sum.

    Rishtey, Colors and Zee TV pocketed the fourth, fifth and sixth position with 546014, 496646 and 479152 Impressions (000s) Sum.

    Sony Sab, albeit with a ratings jump of 6000 Impressions (000s) Sum, slipped a slot bagging the seventh position with total of 445866 Impressions (000s) Sum. DD National, Sony Entertainment and Life OK retained their last three slots in chronological order with 417285, 379146 and 346293 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively.

    Hindi GEC – Rural

    Zee Anmol, Rishtey and Sony Pal came at the first, second and third positions respectively with 460492, 416163 and 405741 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively.

    DD National, Star Utsav and Star Plus retained their last week’s respective positions with 243874, 222847 and 193456 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively, with a minor fall in ratings as compared to BARC week 24.

    Zee TV, Big Magic, Colors and Sony Sab, respectively, bagged the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 191432, 181942, 163880 and 136198 Impressions (000s) Sum.

    Hindi GEC – Urban

    Star Plus retained its first position with 400256 Impressions (000s) Sum followed by Colors with 332766 Impressions (000s) Sum at the second position which pushed Sony Sab with 309667 Impressions (000s) Sum to the third slot.

    Zee TV, Sony Entertainment and Life OK pocketed the fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 287719, 274566 and 221025 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively.

    DD National, Sony Pal, Rishtey and &TV bagged the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 173410, 154727, 129851, 128264 Impressions (000s) Sum, respectively.

  • Zee TV emerges as leader & Rishtey climbs two spots in Hindi GEC (U+R)

    MUMBAI: Zee TV surprised this week by jumping from the third position last week to the first position. Rishtey too climbed two positions in Hindi GEC (U+R) in BARC Week 21. Zee Anmol made an entry into the top 10 leading GEC Urban channels’ list by replacing Star Utsav.

    Hindi GEC 

    Zee TV led the genre by jumping from the third position to the first position in Hindi GEC channel with an increase with 679456 Impressions (000s) sum this week as compared to 11285 Impressions (000s) sum in week 20. 

    Star Plus with 676078 Impressions (000s) sum witnessed a fall in ratings and came to the second position. Sony Pal also witnessed a fall in ratings and came to the third position 627243 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Colors, which was on the fourth position, slipped a slot with 495240 Impressions (000s) sum, and Rishtey, which was on the sixth position, climbed to the fourth position with 512471 Impressions (000s) sum. 

    Zee Anmol fell a rank and landed at the sixth position whereas Sony Sab, Star Utsav, Sony Entertainment Television, Life OK, respectively, stood at similar seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions as in the last week.

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    Sony Pal retained the top position with a significant ratings increase with 477157 Impressions (000s) sum this week as compared to 435704 Impressions (000s) sum in week 20. 

    Rishtey with 387018 Impressions (000s) sum witnessed a rise in ratings and jumped to the second position. Zee Anmol saw a fall in ratings and came to the third position with 368042 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Zee TV and Star Utsav exchanged their positions and now stood at fourth and fifth positions, respectively, with 275079 Impressions (000s) sum and 273392 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Hindi GEC Urban 

    Star Plus also retained its numero uno position with a crucial ratings increase and 453359 Impressions (000s) sum this week as compared to 427931 Impressions (000s) sum in week 20. 

    Zee TV with 404377 Impressions (000s) sum witnessed a rise in ratings and jumped to the second position with 291346 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Colors witnessed a fall in ratings and came to the third position with 321000 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Sony Sab and Star Entertainment television retained their fourth and fifth positions respectively with 284418 Impressions (000s) sum and 252230 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Life OK, Sony Pal, &TV and Rishtey respectively stood at similar sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth position as in the last week.

    Zee Anmol made an entry in Hindi GEC Urban channels’ list with 99013 Impressions (000s) sum replacing Star Utsav on the tenth position.

  • Star Plus shares leadership with Sony Pal which saw increase in ratings

    MUMBAI: Star Plus retained leadership of Hindi GEC and Hindi GEC Urban market whereas Sony Pal witnessed a hike in ratings and remained the leader in Hindi Rural market. On the other, in Hindi GEC (U+R) Sony Pal maintained its second slot and Colors remained on number three, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data of week 18. 

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus witnessed a fall in ratings but continues to lead the Hindi GEC genre with 632254 Impressions (000s) against 640266 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal on second spot with a hike in ratings and recorded 591324 Impressions (000s) against 577002 Impressions (000s). Colors too saw a downfall in ratings and garnered the third slot with 529712 Impressions (000s) against 554259 (000s) in week 17. 

    Zee TV bagged the fourth spot with 488762 Impressions (000s) followed by Rishtey on the fifth with 486269 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol stood at number six with 440610 Impressions (000s). 

    Sab TV replaced Star Utsav at number seven with 424986 Impressions (000s) and Star Utsav fell to number eight position with 378777 Impressions (000s). 

    Life OK and Sony Entertainment Television bagged ninth and tenth spot with 348821 (000s) and 344598 Impressions (000s). 

    Hindi GEC Rural

    Sony Pal continued to remain at the top position with 447480 Impressions (000s) sum followed by Rishtey with 365513 Impressions (000s) sum. Zee Anmol and Star Utsav stood at third and forth position with 341417 Impressions (000s) sum and 374588 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively.

    Zee TV bagged the fifth position with 202288 Impressions (000s) sum. Star Plus, Colors and Sab TV respectively grabbed the sixth, seventh and eighth spot with 201683 Impressions (000s) sum, 168315 Impressions (000s) sum and 163215 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Big Magic and Life OK interchanged their positions at ninth and tenth with 128210 Impressions (000s) sum and 125495 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Star Plus led the chart with 430571 Impressions (000s) sum followed by Colors on the second position with 361397 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Zee TV sat pretty at the third slot with 286474 Impressions (000s) sum and Sab TV bagged the fourth spot with 261771 Impressions (000s) sum. Sony Entertainment Television retained its fifth slot with 240272 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Life OK, Sony Pal and Rishtey respectively stood on the sixth, seventh and eighth spots with 223325 Impressions (000) sum, 143843 Impressions (000) sum and 120755 Impressions (000) sum.

    &TV and Star Utsav interchanged their positions at ninth and tenth level with 116136 Impressions (000s) sum and 104188 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively.

  • Hindi GEC: Life OK jumps in two categories, Zee & Star Utsav climb in one

    MUMBAI: Star plus continued to remain the leader in GEC and GEC – Urban genres in BARC India week 17. 

    From its fourth position in week 16, Zee TV returned to its third position in week 17. Star Utsav climbed a spot from the eight position. In Hindi GEC rural, Big Magic dropped to the tenth position.

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus maintained its top position, witnessing a slight hike in rating with 640266 Impressions (000s) sum compared to last week’s 639788 Impressions (000s) sum. Sony Pal has come on the second slot with 577002 Impressions (000s) sum and Colors on the third with 554259.

    Zee Tv climbed to fourth spot with 527739 Impressions (000s) sum from the fifth level in the last week. Rishtey dropped one slot to the fifth position with 509513 Impressions (000s) sum and Zee Anmol bagged the sixth position with 435289 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Utsav and Sab TV registered seventh and eighth spot with 428772 Impressions (000s) sum and 410493 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively. Life Ok climbed one spot to ninth with 368892 Impressions (000s) sum. Sony Entertainment dropped to the tenth position with 340780 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Hindi GEC Rural

    Sony Pal continued to remain at the top position with 433816 Impressions (000s) sum followed by Rishtey with 378592 Impressions (000s) sum. Zee Anmol and Star Utsav stood at third and fourth positions with 344046 Impressions (000s) sum and 318865 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively.

    Zee TV bagged the fifth position with 227832 Impressions (000s) sum. Star Plus, Colors and Sab TV respectively grabbed the sixth, seventh and eighth spot with 215755 Impressions (000s) sum, 184678 Impressions (000s) sum and 144703 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Life OK and Big Magic interchanged their positions as ninth and tenth with 140845 Impressions (000s) sum and 124633 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Star Plus led the chart with 424511 Impressions (000s) sum followed by Colors on the second position with 369581 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Zee TV registered its third slot with 299907 Impressions (000s) and Sab tv bagged the fourth spot with 265789 Impressions (000s) sum. Sony Entertainment Television maintained its fifth slot with 242549 Impressions (000s) sum.

    Life OK, Sony Pal and Rishtey stood on sixth, seventh and eighth spot with 228046 Impressions (000) sum, 143186 Impressions (000) sum and 130921 Impressions (000) sum.

    Star Utsav and &TV interchanged their positions as ninth and tenth with 109906 Impressions (000s) sum and 108539 Impressions (000s) sum, respectively.

  • GEC leaders retain respective positions with drop in ratings

    MUMBAI: Viewership ratings in GEC seemed to seeing a slow yet continuous drop week after week. Although all the leaders in the respective genres retained their positions, they witnessed a further drop in the ratings as compared to previous BARC week. Ditto was the case with other GEC channels in urban as well as rural and GEC (U+R) genres.

    Hindi GEC

    Though Star Plus witnessed a drop in ratings, it continued to remain the leader of the space with 639788 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal on the second slot with 595069 Impressions (000s) and Colors on the third with  570624 Impressions (000s).

    Rishtey grabbed the fourth spot with 513153 Impressions (000s).  Zee TV stood at number five in week 16 with 503735 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol bagged the sixth spot with 459352 Impressions (000s).  Sab TV,  Star Utsav and Sony Entertainment Television garnered seventh, eighth and ninth spot with 442185 Impressions (000s), 437567 and 378091 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK registered 350232 Impressions (000s) on the tenth spot.  

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    This week, Sony Pal garnered the first position with 448116 Impressions (000s) followed by Rishtey on the second slot with 386138 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol replaced Star Utsav and stood at number three position with 363852 Impressions (000s).

    Star Utsav stood on number four level with 322067 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV bagged fifth position with 222967 Impressions (000s). Star Plus  and Colors  grabbed the sixth and seventh spot with 211408 Impressions (000s) and 197436 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Sab TV, Big Magic and Life OK bagged 167596 Impressions (000s), 135120 Impressions (000s) and 124684 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Star Plus led the chart with 428379 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 373187 Impressions (000s).

    In week 16, Zee TV get back to its  third slot with 280767 Impressions (000s) and Sab TV bagged the fourth spot. The channel registered 274589 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Entertainment Television maintained its fifth slot with 254251 Impressions (000s).

    Life OK stood on number six with 225547 Impressions (000s).  Sony Pal, Rishtey and &TV bagged seventh, eighth and ninth slot with 146952 Impressions (000s), 127014 Impressions (000s) and 117641 Impressions (000s) respectively. Star Utsav grabbed tenth spot  with 115500 Impressions (000s).

  • Star Plus recaptures top slot in Hindi GEC (U+R) in BARC week 14

    MUMBAI: Star Plus reclaimed its leadership position in week 14 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India after a week’s gap, although Colors’ Naagin2 retained the top show rating. Sony Pal claimed second position in Hindi GEC (U+R) and pushed Colors on number three. In other two markets, that is rural and urban, Sony Pal and Star Plus, respectively, continued to rule this week.

    Hindi GEC

    In week 14,  Star Plus got back to its leadership position with 691210 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal on the second slot with 603379 Impressions (000s) and Colors on third slot with 588225 Impressions (000s).

    Rishtey, Zee TV and Star Utsav bagged fourth, fifth and sixth position with 496235  Impressions (000s), 481772 Impressions (000s) and 430182  Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol, Sony Entertainment Television, Sab TV stood at seventh, eighth and ninth spot with 424007 Impressions (000s), 414068 Impressions (000s), 414057 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK was on the tenth position with 336568 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi GEC Rural

    Sony Pal continued to lead the genre with 454505 Impressions (000s) followed by Rishtey on the second slot with 372502 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol on third with 328752 Impressions (000s).

    Star Utsav,  Star Plus and Zee TV respectively bagged the fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 328471 Impressions (000s), 216102 Impressions (000s) and 193741 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Colors bagged the seventh spot with 187947 Impressions (000s).

    Big Magic, Sab Tv and Sony Entertainment Television grabbed eighth, ninth and tenth spot with 155578, 137709  and 134398 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Star Plus continued to dominate the genre with 475108 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on the second position with 400277 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV on third with  288031 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Entertainment Television maintained its fourth position this week with 279669 Impressions (000s). Sab TV, Life OK and Sony Pal grabbed with 276347 Impressions (000s), 215528 Impressions (000s) and 148874 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    &TV stood at number eight with 128515 Impressions (000s) followed by Rishtey and Star Utsav with 123732 (000s) and 101711 Impressions (000s), respectively.

  • Star Plus & Sony Pal retain respective leadership, Naagin 2 maintains lead

    MUMBAI: Week 12 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India saw no major change in the rankings. Star Plus and Sony Pal continued to lead their respective markets. Zee TV in Hindi GEC Urban market grabbed the third slot, and Sony Entertainment Television slipped to fourth. 

    Colors’ Naagin season 2 remained the undisputed leader in top five programmes of Hindi GEC. 

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus continued to remain the leader of the space, and grabbed the first spot with 728340 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second slot with 630806 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on third with 603135 Impressions (000s). 

    Zee TV witnessed a hike in ratings this week but remained on number four with 550272 Impressions (000s) against 537768 Impressions (000s) in week 11. Rishtey stood at number five in week 12 with 508839 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol bagged sixth spot with 492092 Impressions (000s).

    Sab TV, Star Utsav and Sony Entertainment Television garnered seventh, eighth and ninth spot with  439697 Impressions (000s), 433212 Impressions (000s) and 429864 Impressions (000s), respectively. Life OK registered 417957 Impressions (000s) on tenth spot.  

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    This week too, Sony Pal garnered the first position with 438102 Impressions (000s) followed by 389971 Impressions (000s). Though Naagin season 2 has been the number one show in top five programmes, the show could not manage to make Rishtey the number one channel this week. The channel grabbed the third position with 381221 Impressions (000s). 

    Star Utsav stood on number four with 322143 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus bagged the fifth position with 243528 Impressions (000s). Zee TV and Colors grabbed sixth and seventh spot with 231431 Impressions (000s) and 209359 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television bagged 164765 Impressions (000s), 149431 Impressions (000s) and 133861 Impressions (000s) respectively. 

    Hindi GEC Urban 

    Star Plus led the chart with 484812 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on the second position with 421446 Impressions (000s). In week 12, Zee TV managed to grab the third slot with 318840 Impressions (000s) and pushed Sony Entertainment Television to the fourth spot. The channel registered  296003 Impressions (000s). 

    Sab TV maintained its fifth spot with 290265 Impressions (000s). 

    Life OK stood at number six with 253191 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal,  &TV and Rishtey bagged seventh, eighth and ninth slot with 165032 Impressions (000s), 140559 Impressions (000s) and 127618 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Star Utsav grabbed tenth spot  with 111069 Impressions (000s).

  • Hindi GEC: Sony Pal leads in rural & Star Plus retains twin titles

    MUMBAI: In week 9 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, Star Plus continued to lead both markets, Urban and (U+R). Sony Pal however replaced Rishtey to claim the leadership position. Apart from the leading channels, this week, Zee TV registered positive ratings which helped the channel figure in top three list of channels.

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus led the genre with an increase in number with 783794 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors with 634917 Impressions (000s) in the second slot and Sony Pal on third with 563212 Impressions (000s).

    In week 9, Zee TV climbed up at number four with 556365 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey stood at the fifth position with 506028 Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol bagged the number six slot with 491557 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Utsav grabbed the seventh spot with 456187 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment Television, Sab TV and Life OK ranked on the eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 431506 Impressions (000s), 423175 Impressions (000s) and 387790 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    Sony Pal replaced Rishtey to claim the number one position with 406831 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 384967 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey stood on 384810 Impressions (000s). 

    Star Utsav stood on number four with 352694 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus bagged the fifth position with 264241 Impressions (000s). Zee TV and Colors  grabbed sixth and seventh spot with 247472 Impressions (000s) and 210727 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television and Big Magic garnered eighth, ninth and tenth spot with 153193 Impressions (000s), 136078 Impressions (000s) and 134005 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Star Plus led the chart with 519552 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 424189 Impressions (000s).

    Zee TV grabbed the third position with 308892 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment Television and Sab TV bagged 295428 Impressions (000s) and 289649 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK stood on number six with 234596 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal, &TV and Rishtey bagged seventh, eighth and ninth spots with 156381 Impressions (000s), 137506  Impressions (000s) and 121218 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Zee Anmol grabbed the tenth position this week and registered 106590 Impressions (000s).

  • DD National enters Top 10; Star Plus returns as leader

    MUMBAI: The England versus India ODI match helped DD National reach the top 10 channels of Hindi GECs of week 3. Apart from this, Star Plus makes a comeback as the leader of Hindi GEC and Hindi GEC Urban. Rishtey continued to lead the Hindi GEC rural market, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data.

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus has won the race this week. The channel bagged the leadership spot with 632223 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on the second slot with 627250 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey on third spot with 466852 Impressions (000s).

    Zee TV maintained its fourth spot with  425594 Impressions (000s). Star Utsav stood on number five with 408297 Impressions (000s).

    Backed by ODI England Vs India, DD National entered the list this week on number six with 405113 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Entertainment Television on seventh spot with 392555 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on eight with 357654 Impressions (000s).

    Life OK and Sab TV grabbed ninth and tenth slot with 341006 (000s) and 338248 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC Rural
