    Publicis flies off with SpiceJet’s creative duties

    MUMBAI: SpiceJet has appointed Publicis Communications as its new creative agency post a multi-agency pitch.

     

    SpiceJet’s incumbent agency is Dentsu Marcon, which handled the account since 2014.

     

    SpiceJet chief marketing officer Debojo Maharishi said, “It was a tough choice, we saw some very good presentations but Publicis’ strategy was in complete sync with our brand objective. In our interaction with the team we were impressed with the talent and were keen to partner with them.”

     

    Publicis Capital CEO Hemant Misra added, “This was amongst the most exciting pitches we have made. SpiceJet is going to change and being part of engineering that change is an opportunity that has got us all excited and raring to go.”

     

    SpiceJet has brought the new creative agency on board close on the heels of its rebranding exercise including a new logo, as a part of its 10-year celebrations.

    Publicis Capital elevates Joy Mohanty to NCD

    MUMBAI: Publicis Capital has elevated Joy Mohanty as its national creative director. Mohanty will continue to be based in Delhi and will report to Publicis South Asia chief creative officer Bobby Pawar.

     

    Bobby Pawar on Mohanty’s elevation said, “In the time that I have worked with Joy, I’ve found him to be who not only focused on making great ads, but also finding brilliant solutions to our clients’ problems. He is also a really good leader. His elevation is recognition of the role he has played in improving our output in the past year and the role he will play in helping us raise our game even more.”

     

    Publicis Capital chief executive officer Hemant Misra stated, “Joy is an ideal partner – cool and collected, ever smiling, assertive and brilliant. He has the ability to attract talent and harness simple yet great ideas. His ‘Kitna Deti Hai’ campaign for Maruti Suzuki is an appropriate example of this.”

     

    Mohanty has been with Publicis Capital for over nine years. In a career spanning 21 years he has worked at FCB Ulka, Bates Clarion, Leo Burnett and Contract.

     

    Some of the prominent brands he has worked are: Maruti Suzuki Corporate, Maruti Swift, Maruti A-star, Suzuki Scooters & Motorcycles, LG Home Appliances, Dabur Chyawanprash, Personal Care, Homemade, Thums Up, Maaza, Apollo Tyres, Carrier Aircon, among others.

     

    Mohanty has won numerous local and international awards, including the One Show, D&AD, New York Festivals and Goafest.

     

    On his new role Mohanty added, “I have been on a perpetual quest, trying to find ways to connect with a consumer who essentially does not want to engage with advertising. The width of brands and strength of relationships at Publicis make this new assignment a fabulous opportunity.”

  • Publicis Capital bags HPL’s creative biz

    MUMBAI: Publicis Capital, a division of Publicis Communications, has won the creative duties of HPL Electric and Power following a multi-agency pitch that took place in Delhi.

    Publicis Capital‘s responsibility will be to take care of the corporate brand as well as packaging design and creative communications for HPL‘s range of products.

    The brand‘s spends on above and below-the-line activities are in the range of Rs 150-180 million.

    Publicis Capital CEO Hemant Misra said, “The phenomenal growth of HPL is a harbinger of the brand value waiting to be unlocked. I look forward to this opportunity of partnering with the brand owners to take the brand to its rightful place in the consumer space.”

    HPL joint managing director Gautam Seth said, “We have been aggressively introducing various products and innovations in the market.   • Divyapratap Mehta joins Publicis Capital as chief strategy officer

    MUMBAI: Divyapratap Mehta has joined Publicis Capital as chief strategy officer.

    Mehta comes in from Grey India where he was vice-president, planning. Today is his first day at Publicis Capital.

    Publicis Capital CEO Hemant Misra confirmed the news to indiantelevision.com.com.

    Mehta started his career in the industry in 1995 with McCann Erickson as account manager. After a stint of five years at the IPG agency, he moved to Publicis’ Leo Burnett in 2004 where he donned the roles of account director.

    He worked at Burnett for two years before shifting to TBWA as group account and planning director. A year later he moved to Low Lintas and Partners as regional planning director- vice president-South East Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia). His next stop was Grey where he joined in 2010.

    Mehta has developed expertise in FMCG/ CPG and consumer electronics across diverse markets with clients like Nestle, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Coke, LG and Panasonic.

    Publicis NCD Upputuru Emmanuel quits

    MUMBAI: Publicis national creative director Emmanuel Upputuru has resigned in his papers at the agency.


    Upputuru joined Publicis in 2007 and has worked for more than four years with Hemant Misra, CEO, Publicis India. Before that he was employed at Ogilvy & Mather Delhi as senior creative director.


    Misra joined O&M in 2002, following which he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi in 2003. He moved back to O&M Delhi in 2005, from where he shifted to Publicis India in 2007. His total experience in the advertising world spans nearly 16 years.


    Misra started his career with Contract Advertising and has worked at agencies such as Contract, Leo Burnett and McCann Erickson. He has handled brands such as Shell, Dabur, Nokia, Mother Dairy, Gillette, Limca, Sprite, Motorola, Maruti and American Express.
