    HealthKart partners with Unicommerce to boost e-commerce operations

    Mumbai: Omnichannel nutrition products retailer Bright Lifecare Pvt Ltd, operating under the brand name HealthKart, has partnered with Unicommerce, an e-commerce enablement SaaS platform, to strengthen its e-commerce supply chain in multiple ways.

    Healthkart has adopted Unicommerce’s multi-channel order management and warehouse management solutions to automate order processing and fulfillment through its own website and across multiple marketplaces for its nutritional products under brand names including MuscleBlaze, Gritzo, and HK Vitals.

    It will also use Unicommerce’s seller management panel to enable 400 plus sellers on the Healthkart marketplace to fulfill orders directly from their respective location. The seller management panel facilitates HealthKart with a diverse range of sellers and vendors, expanding the product catalog for their platforms. This enables HealthKart to maximize sales while orders are fulfilled directly from the seller’s location, resulting in significant cost and resource savings.

    Utilizing Unicommerce’s comprehensive suite of technology solutions, HealthKart is enabling different aspects of its e-commerce operations highlighting the growing importance of technology for a business.

Living up to that promise, the company has announced the appointment of angel investor Kae Capital MD Sasha Gulu Mirchandani (48), and former Price WaterhouseCoopers senior executive Vivek Mehra (65) – who is also actress Neena Gupta’s husband – on its board as independent directors.

    Mirchandani has experience at the intersection of finance, technology and digital commerce in India, having seed/venture funded and mentored some of the largest unicorns in India. He has deep insights about how technology is shaping new business models and how companies can leverage emerging technologies to get competitive advantage in products and markets. He sits on the boards of Hathway Cable and Datacom, Nazara Technologies, Healthkart, Kae Capital Management Private Ltd, Algorhythm Tech Private Ltd, among others. Previously, he served on the boards of Myntra, 1Mg, and Ador Welding, to name a few.

    Mehra, on the other hand, worked at PWC for almost two decades. During his tenure there, he founded and headed the regulatory and M&A tax practices and was elected to the governance oversight board of PWC for two terms. He sits on the boards of HT Media, Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals, Jubilant Life Sciences, Havells India, Digicontent, and DLF, among others.

    HealthKart ropes in Gaurav Agarwal as CTO

    NEW DELHI: HealthKart – one of the leading online health and fitness store – has appointed Gaurav Agarwal, a Silicon Valley veteran for 12 years, as the chief technology officer (CTO). He will also head HealthKart’s products division, with a specific focus on the company’s web and mobile initiatives. In his previous role, he was responsible for the iconic game ‘FarmVille’ for Zynga.  Under his leadership, Farmville grossed over $ 1 billion in revenue and became the largest game in the world.

     

    Agarwal has held multiple technology and management roles in the Silicon Valley. Commenting on his addition to the team, HealthKart co-founder and MD Prashant Tandon said in a release: “We are very excited to have someone of this caliber join the team at HealthKart. With Gaurav leading technology and product, we are confident that we can create world class web and mobile products that help take both HealthKart.com and HealthKartPlus to the next level.”
