    Nat Geo’s new show ‘She Builds’ spotlights Indian women entrepreneurs

    Mumbai: National Geographic has joined hands with Sequoia India to spotlight the inspiring journeys of Indian women entrepreneurs with its brand-new digital series – “She Builds.” Premiering on 22 February, the show will be released on National Geographic India’s social media platforms as well as on Disney+ Hotstar.

    The six-part series of short digital films will touch upon the lives of seven successful Indian female founders who are defying the odds by taking risks, dreaming big, and driving innovation in India. By spotlighting these role models, “She Builds” seeks to put entrepreneurship on the agenda for a wider group of women and girls, said the channel.

    The series, airing over two weeks, will feature entrepreneurs like Animall’s Neetu Yadav & Kirti Jangra (22 February), Mad Street Den’s Ashwini Asokan (24 February), Mamaearth Ghazal Alagh (26 February), Atlan’s Prukalpa Sankar (1 March), Heads Up For Tails’ Rashi Narang (3 March), and Byju’s Divya Gokulnath (5 March).

    The six-part series of short films have been produced in collaboration with Sequoia India, Sikhya Entertainment and directed by Vijayeta Kumar.

    “At National Geographic, it is our constant endeavour to bring stories that take our audiences on an immersive, inspiring and sympathetic journey,” said Disney Star head- network entertainment channels Kevin Vaz. “With ‘She Builds’ we are delighted to bring motivational stories of seven women entrepreneurs who have contributed in changing the narrative of women leadership in India.”

    “We understand that short-form content presented in an interesting manner is appreciated and preferred by our audiences, so we are bringing these stories in bite-size formats and premiering them on our highly engaged social media platforms,” Vaz further said.

Their stories are inspiring, relatable, and incredibly uplifting. But they just don’t get told often enough,” commented Sequoia India and Southeast Asia CMO Gayatri Yadav.

    Heads Up For Tails appoints Samriddh Dasgupta as CMO

    Mumbai: Homegrown D2C pet care company Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) on Thursday announced the appointment of Samriddh Dasgupta as chief marketing officer.

    In his new role, Dasgupta will be responsible for scaling growth across the levers of brand and marketing, partnerships, community culture and engagement, and product innovation, said the company in a statement.

    “We at HUFT have always focused on building teams that are able to bring in perspectives that help us push the envelope of how we think about our business today. We are very excited to have Samriddh join us in our growth journey,” stated HUFT founder Rashi Sanon. “In his past roles across D2C, FMCG, content, and media, he has a proven track record of building strong brands in large categories. Samriddh will be helping us expand our omnichannel brand presence and help take our purpose forward across various consumer touchpoints.”

    Dasgupta brings with him over 19 years of diverse leadership experience across sales, marketing and advertising and has worked on growing traditional and digital-first businesses across categories.

    Prior to HUFT, he led marketing and communications for Bombay Shaving Company as its vice president – marketing & new brands. Previously, he was head of marketing at Akiva Superfoods, Aakash Digital, Xynteo, a Norwegian sustainability firm, and Dineout. The first decade of his career was spent as an entrepreneur in advertising, where he supported the growth of emerging businesses across India, from industries as diverse as education, healthcare, diagnostics, FMCG, NBFCs, pharma, footwear, and infrastructure.

    Heads Up For Tails appoints Swati Mohan as CBO

    Mumbai: D2C pet care company Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) has announced the appointment of Swati Mohan as chief business officer (CBO).

    Mohan brings with her rich experience of over two decades across media & entertainment, tech and advertising. At HUFT, she will be responsible for scaling growth for the company across levers of brand & marketing, tech advancements, growth partnerships and product innovation, said the statement.

    “Mohan is a seasoned professional with a two-decade-long track record as a proven leader and has driven profitable growth in large, multi-channel consumer businesses. She brings significant experience in growing brands, improving operating performance and customer experience and delivering results,” said HUFT founder Rashi Sanon. “Under her leadership, we aim at building a stronger tech platform for all the needs of pets at every stage of their life.”

    In her most recent role, Mohan was with Netflix as head of marketing and was part of the core leadership team in the first three years of operation of the streaming platform in India. Prior to Netflix, she was associated with National Geographic and Fox Networks Group as country head for over six years. Her previous stints include companies including Group M, O&M, FBC Media, and Endemol.

    An award-winning leader, Mohan has many accolades to her name such as The Economic Times 40 under Forty (2019), CMO for Growth (2020), and Impact Women to watch out for (2018).

    “After years of building and scaling global media businesses, I am excited about this leap into the pet care industry; one that is projected to reach over $ two billion over the coming years,” Mohan said. “I look forward to integrating this vision into the next phase of growth where we shall infuse tech & personalisation, e-commerce, content, and community to build out both the brand and business as the go-to platform for any and every pet parent need.”
