    WebEngage appoints Ankur Gattani as VP, growth and marketing

    Mumbai: Full-stack marketing automation and customer data platform WebEngage on Tuesday announced the appointment of Ankur Gattani as VP, growth and marketing.

    Gattani has over 13 years of experience including as a customer, mentor, and advisor to WebEngage in his previous roles. In this role, he will be taking charge of the entire growth marketing function at Webengage to sharpen the company’s positioning as a thought leader in retention marketing and a champion of building enduring businesses, said the statement.

    “As a customer-first company, our primary focus has always been in investing towards the growth of our customers and building success for them in their journey,” said WebEngage co-founder and CEO Avlesh Singh. “Ankur’s expertise in customer success and data-driven marketing efforts along with his valuable insights is crucial for the growth of the brand.     An IITB/IIM Cal graduate, Gattani’s stint at Foodpanda Global to drive CRM efforts led to the transformation of one message-per-country regimen to 1:1 personalised messages on multiple channels across 45 countries, 20+ timezones and languages. The speed of roll-out earned his team accolades and a speaker invite from Salesforce to share the story at Dreamforce – a flagship event by Salesforce.

    He has dabbled in ideas in e-commerce and created a consumer FMCG brand as well, is a big believer in driving stories and analogies to help customers understand the brand proposition better.

    Megha Kapoor named Vogue India’s head of editorial content

    Mumbai: Condé Nast has named Megha Kapoor as head of editorial content, Vogue India.

    In her new role, Kapoor will oversee Vogue India’s editorial operations, strategy and vision, working closely with Vogue’s editorial leadership to develop the best journalism and storytelling both globally and locally. She will lead Vogue India’s editorial team to ensure that Vogue’s core values are represented in all content and across all platforms, said the statement.

    Kapoor began her career as a fashion assistant at Vogue Australia. She founded and was the editor and creative director of Inprint magazine, and before that, fashion editor at Oyster Magazine. She currently resides in Sydney but will be moving to India in the coming months.

    “Megha’s experience as an editor, stylist and creative director has equipped her with a unique ability to anticipate where the industry is headed,” said Vogue – global editorial director and Condé Nast – chief content officer, Anna Wintour. “We are excited to welcome her back to Vogue after she started her fashion career at Vogue Australia, and I look forward to seeing Vogue India continues to reach new audiences under her leadership.”

    Ex-Fnatic India lead Nimish Raut joins NODWIN Gaming

    Mumbai: Esports company NODWIN Gaming has appointed Nimish Raut as the head of global esports partnerships and business development.

    In his role, Raut will oversee global partnerships, business development and media rights for all NODWIN properties across the world. He will be based out of Singapore and report to NODWIN Gaming, MD, Akshat Rathee, said the company.

    Raut comes in with over 15 years of experience in sports and esports experience with companies like Star Sports where he led strategy for new sports and was previously the head of sports marketing at Red Bull India. He kickstarted his esports passion at Redbull and then joined Riot Games (Southeast Asia) for League of Legends. Over the last few years, he has been actively involved in propelling the growth of esports in India as the India lead at Fnatic.

    “It’s exciting to have Nimish on board given his vast experience with key players in the industry,” said Akshat Rathee, welcoming Raut on board. “He has a high-spirited persona about him. I have known him for over a decade and he shares my passion for transforming esports and we have strong faith in his capabilities to build valuable partnerships for NODWIN.”
    Raut has already secured partnerships for NODWIN Gaming with brands such as Gillette, OnePlus, HP, Red Bull and looks to continue the great form, said the company.

    Mumbai: Huhtamaki India Ltd has announced the appointment of Neha Phale as head of public affairs and member of the leadership team at Flexible Packaging India.

    In this role, Phale will support the delivery of Huhtamaki’s 2030 growth strategy and the positioning of the company as a leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions in India. As part of this, she is responsible for stakeholder communications and developing partnerships with key stakeholders working towards delivering sustainable packaging solutions and managing public affairs issues, said the company in a statement.

    Phale has over 15 years of experience in communications and public affairs. She joins Huhtamaki from Welspun India Ltd where she was responsible for shaping the company’s overall communication strategy as well as creating and managing relationships between internal and external stakeholders. Prior to this, Phale held senior communications and public affairs roles at Huntsman International and Dow Chemical.

    Vivek Bhargava moves on from Dentsu Performance Group

    Mumbai: Dentsu Performance Group, head, Vivek Bhargava has announced his exit from the organisation. In his next move, Bhargava sets his focus on ProfitWheel, a SaaS startup that he co-founded last year.

    ProfitWheel is a product company that will focus on creating a customer data-led marketing intelligence platform for the new direct-to-consumer world.

    “ProfitWheel has been active in stealth mode for the last one year. Now, it was finally time to bring it to the fore and get the wheels rolling,” said ProfitWheel, co-founder, Vivek Bhargava. “With ProfitWheel, we are attempting to connect ad tech with mar-tech to make both efficient. Our eventual goal is to make the advertising and marketing expenses a part of the balance sheet where it becomes the cost of sales rather than an expense. It’s a game-changing model for the startup ecosystem,” he added.

    Bhargava began his entrepreneurial journey in 1997 when he founded Communicate 2. The company joined hands with iProspect India, a digital marketing agency, from Dentsu international in 2012 with Bhargava leading the new entity – iProspect Communicate 2 – as founder and MD. 

    The company was rebranded as iProspect India at the end of 2015 with Bhargava as CEO until 2016, the year he was named the CEO of DAN Performance Group. In this role, he oversaw all of Dentsu’s digital performance agencies.

    Mumbai: Homegrown online learning platform Vedantu on Tuesday announced the appointment of Maninder Bali as head of brand marketing. Based in Bangalore, Bali will report to Vedantu’s chief operating officer, Arvind Singhal.

    In his new role, Bali will further build the brand and bring alive the Vedantu experience at every touchpoint. He will navigate the brand marketing playbook and drive impact at scale for Vedantu, said the press statement.

    Bali is an industry veteran who has 16 years of experience having worked with prominent advertising companies across India and Singapore, including Leo Burnett, Publicis Singapore, BBH, and Open Strategy and Design.

    Welcoming Bali on board, Arvind Singhal said, “His versatile experience will enhance our student-centric approach and strengthen our relationships with our stakeholders, allowing us to deliver excellence across all platforms.     Mumbai: Pyxis One, a global startup that provides AI infrastructure for marketing and business growth, has appointed Albino Mascarenhas to lead the human resources division in India.

    In his new role, Mascarenhas will work closely with the startup’s leaders to drive strategic talent management initiatives and disseminate the growing startup’s core values and culture, said the organisation in a statement. “One of his immediate responsibilities will be to lead the talent acquisition efforts for the community of AI experts that Pyxis One is building within the organisation. This community comprises AI researchers, scientists, and engineers from across the globe,” it added.

    Mascarenhas comes with 19 years of people management experience having led human resources at ZEE5 & Komli Media and managed the West and South region for Times Internet Ltd in the past.

    Reebok India head of digital marketing Himanshi Tandon moves on

    Mumbai: Reebok India head of digital marketing Himanshi Tandon has resigned from her position at the sportswear brand. She ended her around an eight-year-long professional relationship with the Adidas Group-owned brand in June.

    Tandon, in a LinkedIn post, said, “After 8 years at the Adidas group, last month I bid farewell to a company I deeply admire, two brands I deeply love, and people who I deeply cherish! Having got the opportunity to build and grow across marketing, digital and eCommerce teams across India, Israel and Emerging Markets, I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing set of leaders, team, or friends at work. (sic)”
    As head of digital marketing for Reebok India, Tandon was responsible for designing brand campaigns led by social, leading the traffic-driving initiatives for the brand for its own e-commerce besides driving sell-outs on e-com partner platforms through relevant and targeted media buys.
    She was also tasked with creating a strong authenticator/influencer marketing strategy for Reebok Performance & Classic to drive consistent brand heat and drive traction for multiple drops.

    Tandon is a strategic marketer armed with 11 years of experience across marketing and consulting, specialising in marketing strategy & IMC, digital marketing, e-commerce, brand management, influencer marketing, media planning & buying, and strategic tie-ups. She had joined Adidas Group as marketing manager in April 2013.

    Her next move is still unknown.

    Mumbai: Hindi GEC, The Q on Tuesday announced the appointment of Pankaj Rai as head of ad sales for North and East regions, effective immediately. He will be based out of the company’s New Delhi office.

    In his new role, Rai will be responsible for driving the advertising sales for the channel in the respective regions and report directly to CEO, Simran Hoon, said the company in a statement.

    Rai is a seasoned media professional armed with over 15 years of expansive industry experience. Prior to joining The Q, he was associated with Zee Network, Mid-Day, and Shaadi Dot Com in various capacities. He has handled key accounts for linear TV channels including Zee TV, Zee Cinema, &TV among others. With hands-on media sales experience across TV, print, and digital, he has successfully contributed to top-level revenues. Rai also has a deep understanding of traditional and new media functioning.

    Speaking on the appointment, Hoon said, “We are delighted to welcome Pankaj to The Q. This is one of our most-awaited and critical hires in ad sales for the North and East regions and we are confident of the value he will add to our growing portfolio of advertisers.     Her inherent leaning towards fashion and style, led her to the role of a Fashion Stylist at NBC in 2005 and more recently, at Condé Nast India where she led the Condé Nast factory – a content vertical for the publishing group.
