    Sandeep Ranade joins Hansa Research as EVP & quantitative research head

    Mumbai: Hansa Research has appointed Sandeep Ranade as the executive vice president (EVP) and national head of quantitative research.

    Sandeep was working with Kantar as executive director and head of media in South Adia. He brings with him an experience of 27 years of working in the research industry. He has extensive experience in FMCG, telecom and the media sectors across brand, creative and media domains. He has also led teams across locations to help clients build their brands and solve their critical business issues.

    In his professional journey, he has led multiple global studies including developing a windows-based software for analyzing NRS (National Readership Survey) 1995 data with a team of software developers. He was also the team lead for setting up a panel for monitoring lubricant usage in trucks (2003-2004) and also transitioned customer satisfaction study for a large telecommunication client in Africa (across sixteen countries).

    Commenting on Sandeep Ranade’s appointment, Hansa Research CEO Praveen Nijhara said, “We are pleased to welcome Sandeep to our organization. His vast experience will further help advance our research expertise and deliver more valuable insights to our clients.     This time we have Zee Studios head marketing Neeraj Joshi sharing with us his musings on the daily rigmarole that life & work has to offer. Having been in the field of media and entertainment for over 15 years, spanning the gamut of movies- from Hollywood to Bollywood and Regional- with motion picture marketing, Joshi still finds it all, in his own words, “fascinating”. Currently, heading the marketing function at Zee Studios (with three additional horizontal leadership profiles since 2018), he has worked with a clutch of the ‘buzziest brands’ in the industry earlier such as Viacom18, Fox Star Studios, Balaji Motion Pictures, Rajshri Films, PVR Pictures & RGV’s Factory.

    A self-confessed adventure lover & true blue professional, he considers creativity, people, negotiations, conflict resolution, evangelising and brand communication, among others as his key strengths.

    Mumbai: Modenik Lifestyle has announced the expansion of its management team with the joining of Suryanarayana GV as its chief information officer (CIO) and Utkarsh Thakur as the head of marketing for the men’s Category. 

    The new CIO, Suryanarayana GV, an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, has over two decades of industry experience in Oil, Gas, Power & Renewables, where he successfully implemented IT Strategies, Business Transformation, and has rolled out large scale IT projects to drive business-focused success. Over the years he has worked with various renowned brands including Cairn Energy India and Tata Power. At Modenik, he will be responsible for driving effective digital transformation enabling a future-ready organisation.

    Utkarsh Thakur joins Modenik as the head of marketing for the men’s category. He comes with a diverse experience of 20 years in marketing and has expertise in consumer understanding, brand management, product portfolio management, sales management, communication, and media along with exposure to Asian markets. Over the years he has worked for the WPP Group, the Bennett Coleman Group and Titan Company Limited. At Modenik Lifestyle, he will be helming marketing for the men’s brands – Dixcy Scott & Levi’s and Dixcy Scott’s women’s product Slimz. He will help the brands accelerate their growth across categories and geographies.

    Mahindra Group names Pramuch Goel as VP & head – group comms

    Mumbai: Multinational business conglomerate Mahindra Group on Wednesday announced that it has elevated Pramuch Goel as VP and head – group communications, with immediate effect. He will report to Mahindra Group’s chief customer and brand officer and member of the group executive board Asha Kharga,

    In his previous role, Goel was a strategic communications head for auto and farm sectors. He takes over from Varsha Chainani, who has decided to pursue opportunities outside of the Mahindra Group. “The group communications team and communications heads of businesses will report to Goel,” said the company.

    “Pramuch is an accomplished brand and communications leader who has been part of the Mahindra Group for several years, working and contributing to various businesses. At Mahindra, it has always been our endeavor to nurture and promote talent and I am very pleased to see him grow and further his career with us,” said Asha Kharga. “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Varsha Chainani for her contribution to the Mahindra Group and wish her the best for her future endeavors,” she added.

    Goel has been with the Mahindra Group for over five years and has previously worked for sectors including Mahindra Lifespaces, Mahindra Holidays and Mahindra Partners. He was also responsible for the IPO communications of Mahindra Logistics. 

    He has 25 years of experience in brand and communications function and has worked with top global companies including Samsung Electronics, Cisco Systems, and IBM.

    Mumbai: Netflix India has elevated Pritish Wesley as head of creative marketing production. He joined the streaming giant in 2018 as a marketing creative producer.

    In his previous role at Netflix India, Wesley served as campaign operations manager, where he worked with the marcomm teams to strategise, ideate and produce marketing campaigns for Netflix’s content.

    With over 13 years of work experience in the media and advertising industry in India, Wesley previously worked with agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, DDB Mudra, McCann Erickson and the Mullen Lowe Lintas Group. He has primary experience in account management, with a short stint in planning.

    He has worked with clients across industries and categories, such as entertainment, FMCG, alcohol, retail, automobiles, real estate and infrastructure, technology, DTH dish TV service providers, fashion, and jewellery.

    Navnit Nakra to spearhead OnePlus India operations

    Mumbai: Global technology brand OnePlus has elevated its vice president, chief strategy officer, and head of sales in India, Navnit Nakra, to the role of OnePlus India CEO and head of the brand for India region.

    As part of this new senior leadership role, Nakra will spearhead the company’s business operations and overall strategy for the India region, said the statement.

    “Navnit has successfully led the strategy and sales operations at OnePlus India, and our team has gained immense growth under his leadership,” stated Oppo chief product officer and OnePlus founder Pete Lau. “India continues to be an important market for OnePlus, and we continue to focus on our India community’s needs as we work towards building a newer, more innovative ecosystem of products and services. Therefore, I am confident that Navnit will play a pivotal role in leading the future business operations effectively in the region.”

He went on to also oversee the sales operations of the company in the region, taking on the additional role of head of India sales over the past year.

    Pepperfry names Piyush Agarwal as head of supply chain

    Mumbai: Furniture and home products marketplace Pepperfry on Monday named Piyush Agarwal as the head of supply chain. His appointment is effective immediately and he will be based out of Pepperfry House, here.

    In his new role, Agarwal will be responsible for leading the next phase of growth in Pepperfry’s supply chain agenda across the country, said the company in a statement.

    “Piyush’s appointment is to further strengthen our capabilities and beef up our distribution as we look to significantly expand our reach going ahead and offer our services to more clients in the space,” stated Pepperfry co-founder and COO Ashish Shah.

    Agarwal has close to a decade-long experience in supply chain functions across various verticals like – materials, planning, operations, inventory management, warehousing, forecasting & transportation. Previously, he was associated with Colgate Palmolive where he was instrumental in leading large-scale warehousing projects. He is also an alumnus of NITIE where he pursued an MBA in supply chain.

    Airtel brings in Rajiv Sharma as head of investor relations

    Mumbai: Bharti Airtel Ltd (Airtel) has brought Rajiv Sharma on board as head of investor relations, effective 1 October. He takes over from Komal Sharan, who is moving to a new role within the Bharti group.

    In his new role, Sharma will report to Airtel India and South Asia chief financial officer Badal Bagri. He will be responsible for ensuring that the telecom company is appropriately represented with investors, lenders, equity partners, and financial institutions.

    Welcoming Sharma on board, Airtel India and South Asia MD & CEO Gopal Vittal said, “I am confident his rich experience and deep understanding of the telecom industry will add immense value to our engagement with the investor and financial community. I wish Rajiv the very best in his role and look forward to working closely with him.”

    Sharma is a qualified chartered accountant with over 18 years of experience in capital markets, corporate strategy, consulting, IPOs, fundraising, and equity research. He joins Airtel from Spark Capital Advisors where he was director – investment banking & head – digital research. Previously, he also worked with companies such as SBICAP Securities, HSBC, and PWC.
