    Mumbai: Homegrown Hindi GEC, The Q has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Sujata Samant as head of marketing. Samant joins the channel with immediate effect and she will report to the chief operating officer, Krishna Menon.

    In her role at The Q, Samant will be responsible for driving the channel’s marketing and communications strategies spanning strategic partnerships, branding, marketing campaigns, and corporate communications, the channel said in a statement on Monday.

    Welcoming Samant on board, Krishna Menon said, “Sujata has had a fantastic track record and I am confident that her experience in building entertainment brands with a constant rigor for innovation will lead our business to further heights and set new benchmarks in the Hindi television space.”

    A content marketing and brand champion, Samantcome with 14 years of industry experience. She has been instrumental in building media and entertainment brands such as ZEE TV,  ZEE Cinema, and Movies Now. Prior to joining The Q, Samant was associated with ZEE TV.

    “Owing to its differentiated content offering, The Q has already witnessed incredible growth within a short span of time. Although a young channel, The Q currently enjoys a strong position in its category unlike any other,” said Samant on her appointment.

    Mumbai: Baby & mother care brand Mother Sparsh has announced the appointment of Himanshu Chandel as head of marketing and growth. The on-boarding of Chandel is aligned with the brand’s vision to achieve a landmark feat in the D2C space by clocking 10 times growth in the website sales, it said on Monday.

    In his new role, Chandel would spearhead the brand’s overall marketing & growth strategy along with analytics to focus on product innovation.

    Mother Sparsh co-founder and CEO Himanshu Gandhi asserted that the appointment of Chandel is also “in sync with the brand’s next growth chapter that majorly is around building the world class brand that thrives in a digital-first world”. “Speed, precision, and timing will play a major role in our next phase of growth journey, as winning customer loyalty and improving customer lifetime value are sacrosanct for us,” he added.

    Prior to Mother Sparsh, Chandel has been instrumental in scaling a number of brands such as Pipa Bella – now acquired by Nykaa, Homescapes Europa Ltd and Passion Gaming, which registered multi-fold growth in terms of user acquisition under his leadership. He has served as a senior-level executive across different segments like gaming, dating & matrimony, e-commerce, cryptocurrency, and BlockChain.

    “We intend to scale Mother Sparsh to being a 100 crore brand by FY ’23, and alongside other prerequisites, we are committed to enhancing brand loyalty among the consumers,” said Chandel. “The key growth lever for us would be placing end consumers at the centre of the overall strategy while we would strongly leverage retention marketing strategies along with advanced mar-tech stack.     Mumbai: Supply chain and logistics management platform Shipsy has brought on board Mohamed Reza as vice president – head of marketing. This development comes when the company is rolling out aggressive expansion plans and strengthening its foothold in the global supply chain and logistics market.

    In his new role, Reza will be responsible for the marketing function with an extended focus on building Shipsy’s presence in newer regions, primarily the Middle East, which holds the company’s RHQ and eventually to other geographies, said the statement.
    Reza was previously associated with MetricStream for ten years, where he headed essential portfolios of the director of strategic initiatives and the head of marketing for Europe. He also worked with Microsoft for more than four years.

    An MBA alumnus from FMS Delhi, Agarwal has a proven track record for delivering innovation and growth to the brands he leads. With over 11 years of experience, he has held key roles in marketing and sales across companies such as Amazon, Marico, ITC & Cadbury.

    Uber elevates Ameya Velankar to head of marketing, India & South Asia

    Mumbai: Uber has promoted Ameya Velankar as head of marketing, for India and South Asia region. He was previously the head – product marketing at the company.

    Velankar will be working closely with the India & SA leadership team to consolidate Uber’s growing presence in these strategic markets and further strengthen the brand Uber, said the company said in a statement.

    Velankar is a seasoned marketer who comes with over 13 years of experience in marketing, sales & operations across different geographies. He has been the interim lead for INSA since November 2020, and has played multiple roles at Uber in his two-and-a-half-year stint. Before Uber, he led category marketing for SC Johnson & was the group product head at Marico.

    Mumbai: Fullerton India, an investment and credit company (NBFC-ICC), on Friday announced the appointment of Meehiir Desai as its head of marketing. Desai will lead the marketing and corporate communications functions of the organization and will be reporting to Fullerton India’s chief business officer Ajay Pareek, the company said.

    Desai has over 16 years of extensive experience in brand management, media outreach (digital and offline), and corporate communications. He served in companies across different domains such Fino Payments Bank, Sony Pictures Networks, Times Global Broadcasting Company, Network 18, and HDFC Bank. He resumes his corporate journey after a brief entrepreneurial stint.

    NEW DELHI: Moving on from TV9 as AVP marketing & events, Nikhil Mathur has joined Rajat Sharma-led India TV as head of marketing. He took on the new role at the start of 2021. 

    Mathur worked with TV9 for a little over a year, overseeing marketing and events for the news network. He has an overall experience of more than 15 years in the industry. In the past, he has worked with PTC Punjabi Network, Focus News, and Zee News.
