    Cheil Worldwide SW Asia announces a raft of creative appointments

    MUMBAI: Cheil Worldwide SW Asia [Cheil India] has bolstered its creative department with the appointment of seven new members.

     

    The names include Jayant Mathew, Varun Goswami, Joy Sen Gupta, Prashant Sharma, Navajyoti Pegu (Oyio), Prasanth G and Ankur Kalita.

     

     “These are truly exhilarating times at Cheil India as we see top talent making a beeline to join us,” said Cheil Worldwide SW Asia COO Hari Krishnan. “This creative infusion will give impetus to our philosophy of ideas that move in creating winning solutions for our clients.”

     

     “At Cheil, we are always on the lookout for talent and we have been steadily filling the place with good people at all levels. This time, however, an opportunity presented itself because of which we were able to open our doors to all these guys in a matter of a couple of months,” added Cheil Worldwide, SW Asia chief creative officer Nima DT Namchu.

     

    At Cheil India, Jayant Mathew will be partnering Navin Theeng, group creative director-copy. Both Varun Goswami and Joy Sen Gupta will be working as a team as will be the case with the duo- Prashant Sharma, and Navajyoti Pegu (Oyio). Prasanth G will be working on brand Samsung for SAARC and Ankur Kalita will report to Navin Theeng.

     

    Jayant Mathew moves from Publicis where he was creative director and will now take charge as group creative director – art.

     

    Varun Goswami and Joy Sen Gupta, both join from Lowe Delhi where they were unit creative directors. Goswami’s will join sr creative director –copy while Gupta is the new senior creative director –art.

     

    Prashant Sharma joins from McCann World Group where he was creative director- art and will join in as senior creative director-art. Similarly, Navajyoti Pegu (Oyio) will be joining as senior creative director- copy who was earlier with McCann World Group.

     

    Prasanth G joins from JWT and will be the new sr creative director-art.

     

    Ankur Kalita has moved from McCann World Group, where he was creative leader at their New Delhi office.  His current designation will be creative director – copy.

    MUMBAI: In a move to strengthen its digital presence, Cheil Worldwide SW Asia (Cheil India) has appointed digital domain specialist, Rahul Nanda as senior vice president new business digital.

     

    Nanda, moves from Web Chutney where he was partner & president, until it was acquired by Denstu India. He comes with more than 19 years of experience and expertise across various sectors including digital marketing, application development, mobile communications, DTH including an ISP.

     

    Reporting to Cheil Worldwide SW Asia SVP & head digital Rajesh Bhatia, Nanda will lead the growth and expansion of the agency’s integrated media offering as well as enhance its internal digital capabilities.

    Nanda who started his career with the National Informatics Centre as a management analyst said, “I find this new role to be about future-proofing the agency and creating a truly ‘digitally-integrated’ agency.”

     

    A techie at heart, Nanda is an Economics Graduate from Delhi University, and holds a Masters in Business Administration with a specialisation in IT from FORE School of Management.

    MUMBAI: Cheil Worldwide SW Asia announced the appointment of Avinash Joshi as media director, where he will be responsible for the agency’s social media practice.

     

    Joshi is a digital marketing expert with over 15 years of experience in leveraging social insights, trends in emerging technology and human interaction to understand, explain, predict and influence consumer behaviour in digital, social and emerging channels.

    MUMBAI: Cheil Worldwide SW Asia has appointed Atishi Pradhan as chief strategy officer.

    At the agency, Pradhan will lead the integrated strategy function, encompassing traditional, digital, retail and experiential divisions. She will also be spearheading the agency’s proprietary category/consumer knowledge initiatives and guide both current and potential clients on brand marketing strategies.

    On the appointment, Cheil Worldwide SW Asia chief operating officer Hari Krishnan said, “We are delighted to have Atishi on board to lead our integrated strategy function. As Cheil exponentially continues to grow business and capability, the need is to establish thought leadership.     MUMBAI: Cheil Worldwide SW Asia has been awarded the complete creative communications mandate for Halonix Technolgies’ consumer lighting business in a multi-agency pitch.

    A known name in the lighting sector, Halonix has emerged as one of the largest manufacturers of compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), LED and Halogen lamps, suitable for commercial as well as residential establishments. This aggressive consumer lighting marketing strategy is aimed at achieving a lead position for brand Halonix in the consumer lighting segment.

    Confirming the win, Cheil Worldwide SW Asia COO Hari Krishnan said, “These are exciting times at Cheil India.   • Hari Krishnan joins Cheil Worldwide SW Asia as COO

    MUMBAI: Hari Krishnan has joined Cheil Worldwide SW Asia as chief operating officer.

    Krishnan joins from WPP where he was head of the global team on the Ford account. The team members were drawn from JWT, Mindshare and Wunderman.

    Krishnan will start his new role from January 2013 and lead Cheil Worldwide SW Asia’s growth agenda. He will aim at enhancing the agency’s record for delivering diverse communications solutions and make it a strong integrated agency.

    Krishnan’s career in advertising and communications spans over two decades during which he has held senior leadership roles with JWT India, Grey Worldwide and Bates India, among others. As the head of WPP Global Team Ford he set up the first co-located office of three different specialist agencies for WPP in the Asia-Pacific Region.

    Prior to establishing WPP Global Team Ford India, Krishnan was at JWT India as executive business director, PepsiCo Beverages, where he led agency teams on the PepsiCo portfolio comprising Pepsi Cola, Slice, Mountain Dew, Mirinda, Tropicana and Aquafina. At Grey, Krishnan led the agency as general manager and branch head of its New Delhi office. Prior to that at Bates India, he played a pivotal role in consolidating the teams after the Bates takeover of Clarion. Preceding this, he was with Ogilvy & Mather, and Anthem (now TBWA).

  • Grey to handle Pigeon’s creative mandate

    MUMBAI: Bengaluru-based home appliances manufacturer Stovekraft has awarded the creatives duties for its brand Pigeon Home Appliances.

    Grey‘s Bengaluru office will be in charge of the account which includes the brand‘s complete product portfolio.

    Sources peg the account size at Rs 300 million.

    Mindshare holds the media mandate for the brand.

    The pitch for the account was initiated nearly a month back and included five agencies apart from Grey – Contract, Rediffusion Y&R, Lowe, Percept and Euro RSCG. The final round of the pitch included Lowe, Percept and Grey.

    Confirming the news of the win to indiantelevision.com Grey South VP and branch head Hari Krishnan said, “As a category, the home appliances segment has very few brands that are present at a national level and Pigeon is one of them. The brand communication will be aimed at consolidating Pigeon‘s presence and visibility across India.”

    The agency plans to carry a 360 degree media campaign for Pigeon over time, though the immediate focus will be on traditional mediums like TV, print and outdoor. “In this case, retail will also be a very important touch point with activations and store promotions,” adds Krishnan. 

  • Grey bags Muthoot’s creative biz

    MUMBAI: Grey Worldwide has won the creative mandate of Muthoot Group following a multi-agency pitch held in Delhi and subsequently in Cochin.

    The business will be handled out of agency‘s Delhi office, with Grey‘s Bangalore office also playing a key role for the South Market.

    The Muthoot Group has gold loan business, financial Services, securities and a host of allied interests. Grey has been mandated to handle all of these. Having established itself in the South, the Muthoot Group is now seeking to enter and consolidate its presence in the North, West and East markets.

    Grey Delhi VP and branch head Dip Sengupta said, “It‘s a great win ! From the very first meetings with the Muthoot Group, we were moved by the ethics and value systems that drive this great brand. Our task is to help make the brand iconic.”
