    Nickelodeon launches its Children’s Day campaign ‘#NickChildrensDayFUNda’

    Mumbai: Nickelodeon has launched its Children’s Day campaign, “#NickChildrensDayFUNda,” that encourages kids to express their feelings and unique fun-da about life.

    With this campaign, Nickelodeon reaffirms its dedication to kids by promising to always be a friend they can trust. Nourish has joined Nickelodeon as an associate sponsor for the campaign.

    The campaign encouraging children to express themselves is brought to life by #NickelodeonChildrensDayFUNda, which was created with the nation’s most beloved Nicktoons, Chikoo, Bunty, Happy, and Pinaki.

    To encourage kids to express their desires and ideas, Nickelodeon has also launched a special microsite. Nickelodeon will choose some of the best submissions and give them a voice by airing them on the channels on 14 and 15 November. With carefully curated games on the microsite, kids can interact with their favourite cartoons as well.

    Speaking on celebrating kids at every step of the way, Viacom18 Kids TV Network marketing head Sonali Bhattacharya said, “At Nickelodeon, we have always encouraged kids to express themselves. It is with this belief that we engage with kids beyond screens and dial up the connection with our young audiences and their parents through meaningful campaigns and initiatives. Our Children’s Day campaign puts the power back in the hands of kids and encourages them to voice their fundamental wants and needs, however big or small. We wish kids all over the country a very happy Children’s Day and urge them to keep their free spirit intact!”

    The campaign is being boosted through a variety of social and digital initiatives, influencer engagement, partnerships, mall engagements, and on-ground activities, in addition to the special promos featuring Chikoo, Bunty, Happy, and Pinaki that will air across the Nickelodeon franchise.

    Nickelodeon has partnered with food companies like My Froyoland and Hangout Cakes & More to provide sweet treats for its young viewers. Through the food delivery services Zomato and Swiggy, children can order these special treats.

    On 14 November, Nickelodeon will also host a special Nicktastic brunch in collaboration with the JW Marriott, Mumbai. This brunch is especially designed around the children’s favourite Nicktoons, with customizations ranging from the menu to the restaurant decor, and it concludes with a special meet-and-greet between Happy & Pinaki and the children at the hotel.

    Nickelodeon has announced that its newest movie, Motu Patlu & The Terror of Giant Beasts, will have its television premiere on 13 November at 11:30 a.m., adding to the festivities.

    The intensity of this action-packed movie, which is set in Furfuri Nagar and features Motu and Patlu battling the enormous beast, is sure to reach new heights. On 14 November, Nickelodeon also announced Nick Ka Fun-day, which will feature special episodes of Zig and Sharko, Motu Patlu, and Chikoo Aur Bunty and begin at 7:00 a.m. Motu Patlu film festival is additionally scheduled for 15-18 November at 4:30 p.m.

    Watcho premieres new crime thriller ‘Happy’

    Mumbai: Streaming service platform Watcho has announced the premiere of a new crime thriller titled “Happy.” The eight-episode Hindi web series is currently live now on the platform.

    “Happy” follows the journey of a chef named Happy Singh who makes his living working as a chef at a girls’ hostel. The show revolves around Happy’s pursuit of happiness, who is known for his grumpy demeanor and extraordinary culinary skills.

    The thriller is written by Hitesh Bali, under the production of Percept Purple. It features Bhagwan Das Patel playing the titular character, alongside Deeksha Sahu – who essays the role of Gunjan, the parallel character. 

    “‘Happy’ is an unconventional crime thriller that comes with a blend of suspense and hard-hitting drama. The series has carefully crafted characters which makes the story delve into the theme of the class divide and how it reflects upon our society,” commented DishTV and Watcho’s corporate head of marketing Sukhpreet Singh. “As a promoter of entertainment, we have always strived to invent and deliver innovative content for our viewers. ‘Happy’ is yet another testimony to our path-breaking content that appeals to regional audiences,” he added.

    IOA reverses decision on Kalmadi, Chautala; Goel happy

    NEW DELHI: Youth affairs and sports minister Vijay Goel expressed satisfaction over the decision by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) of cancelling the appointment of Suresh Kalmadi and Abhay Singh Chautala as lifetime presidents.

    In a statement, he said: “I am happy that IOA has reversed its decision which augurs well for governance of sports in the country.”

    “By reversing their earlier decision, which appears to have been taken in a hurried manner, IOA has complied with its own constitutional obligation and also with conditionality approved by International Olympic Committee (IOC),” he added.

    “In the renewed circumstances, we look forward to partnering with IOA in making India a sporting nation,” he added.

    IOA President N Ramachandran, in reply to a show cause notice from the ministry, has clarified that the decision to appoint Kalmadi and Chautala does not stand owing to technicalities.

    The appointment of Kalmadi and Chautala has been declared “null and void” in order to not just get the recognition from ministry but also to avoid any possible action from the IOC.

    Kalmadi and Chautala were elevated to the honorary position at the IOA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Chennai on 27 December 2016, but the Olympic body was forced to reverse its decision after it was opposed by a majority of IOA members.

Dentsu Aegis Network has signed a definitive agreement to acquire creative marketing agency, Happy Creative Services in India. It will join the global mcgarrybowen network of agencies and be rebranded as Happymcgarrybowen. The deal is expected to close in the next few weeks.

    The acquisition will strengthen Dentsu Aegis’ creative offering in the market, marks the first mcgarrybowen agency in India and expands its footprint in Asia – with other offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and China.

    Happy expands services with Design Cell

    MUMBAI: Bengaluru-based creative agency Happy has launched a new division — Design Cell — as part of its expansion plans. The new division will be led by Shilpa Colluru in Bengaluru and Pallavi Nayak in Mumbai. The company had started Mumbai operations in January this year.

    Design Cell will offer services in the areas of identity creation, branding and packaging, along with retail and environment design. While business development will be driven from Bengaluru and Mumbai offices the division aims to service clients across India. The creative delivery, however, will continue to take place from Bengaluru.

    Happy CEO Kartik Iyer said, “We have been offering design services to many from the day we started. We‘ve also been fortunate to win a few awards for our work in Design. We took our time to build a body of work and crystallise on a strategic design process that is our own. The design cell shall work as an independent unit with its own business targets and talent pool. We see a huge opportunity in this space and are confident we can inject new energy and excitement in this space.”

    Happy COO Praveen Das added, “Having a specialised design cell only seemed like a natural progression for us as it allows us to do a lot more for our clients. It also makes more sense for companies and brands that have been newly formed and are preparing for a launch.”

    According to Iyer Design is more than just making things look pretty. “There is science behind effective design. India is at a stage where her people have begun to develop a strong aesthetic sense and appreciation for design. We believe that this will play a strong ancillary role in shaping the way Indian businesses look at branding and design as a key to drive growth,” Iyer said.

    In the past, Happy has designed for projects like The Lee Never wasted Bag and The Skinny jeans packaging for Lee. The agency was also responsible for online fashion retailer Myntra.com‘s new logo. Happy also created the logo and worked on the store experience of fashion retailer Basics Life.

    Apart from Design, Happy‘s creative wing is behind the popular Flipkat.com advertisements featuring small children as grown-ups.
