    MUMBAI: It’s going for the grand slam. Chinese household appliance brand Haier has come on board as the official TV and appliance partner of one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments – the Austrailan Open – and the summer of tennis in Australia. The latter includes the United Cup, Brisbane International, Canberra International Adelaide International and the Hobart International and commences 27 December.

    The deal was signed with Tennis Australia late last month and is for the next three years. . The partnership aims to deliver immersive fan experiences by integrating advanced technologies in home appliances, including kitchen, laundry, and climate control systems, with the excitement of world-class tennis. It goes beyond traditional sponsorship, focusing on delivering immersive fan experiences and showcasing how Haier’s advanced kitchen, laundry, and climate control appliances integrate seamlessly into modern living, offering both convenience and sophistication.

    With over one billion tennis fans globally, the sport epitomises elegance, precision, and high performance—values deeply embedded in Haier’s philosophy.     Haier India president Eric Braganza set to retire after 12-year stint

    Mumbai: Home appliances and  consumer electronics company Haier on Thursday announced that Eric Braganza will retire as president of India operations, effective 1 January. According to a statement, Braganza will continue to serve as a consultant with the brand along with his role as president of CEAMA (Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association).

    The brand further announced that its senior vice president of sales and marketing Satish NS will be taking over as president of the company from 1 January 2022.

    Under Braganza’s leadership, Haier India continued to record phenomenal YoY growth over the last few years to become one of the most prominent brands in the home appliances and consumer electronics industry. His management prowess proved instrumental during Haier’s expansion in India, playing a pivotal role in establishing partnerships with some of the largest national and regional retailers in the country, said the company in a statement. “Amongst his many contributions to the organisation was creating a strong and stable team of core members and promoting the spirit of micro-entrepreneurship in them to drive success for the brand in India. From defining the brand by breaking the category clutter in the market to introducing meaningful innovations in Haier’s product range specifically designed for Indian consumers, Braganza has been behind the brand’s success story in the country,” it added.

    Braganza is a veteran in the consumer durables industry who brings along an inspiring professional experience of over 35 years and has been spearheading the organisation since September 2009. In his role, Braganza has put the building blocks, talent, and strategies in place at Haier India that serve as the foundation for the company’s continued growth for the past 12 years in the consumer durables market in India.

  • Magnon adds Haier’s social media biz to its kitty

    MUMBAI: Digital media agency Magnon Solutions has won the digital media account for Haier Appliances. The agency will manage the social media duties for the brand, apart from retaining its present set of services to Haier.

    Magnon has been responsible for developing and maintaining Haeir‘s website since 2008.

    The agency‘s duties will include strategising the social media to strengthen the consumer interaction and creating a face for the brand.

    Haier India head of marketing Shanta Roy Sanjeev said, “The consumer durable market in India is extremely competitive. To retain our edge, we need to listen to our customers and increasingly connect with them by opening new customer touch-points. This becomes a business critical feature for a market as huge as ours. Magnon was a more obvious choice for us, not just because of the years of experience but also the full spectrum digital experience that it offers.”

    Magnon Solutions founder and CEO Vineet Bajpai said, “Haier is a global brand with a local focus for its marketing strategy. Hence, the objective will be to retain the global appeal of the brand while offering a local connect.     Haier has been aggressively marketing its range of consumer durable products in India and has recently announced the launch of India‘s first six-door refrigerator series.
