    L’oréal Professionnel sets guinness record with ‘India’s biggest hair colour moment’

    MUMBAI: L’oréal Professionnel has literally coloured outside the lines, bringing together 422 hairstylists and 422 models to set a ‘Guinness world records’ title for “Most people colouring hair” in India. The event, Hair Color Coders 2025, turned a Mumbai hall into the country’s biggest salon, celebrating the artistry, creativity, and skill of India’s professional hairdressing community.

    Global Color ambassador Min Kim and actress Kritika Kamra were at the heart of the record-breaking day, demonstrating advanced hair colour techniques while showcasing ‘Iconic browns,’ the brand’s trend of the year. From glossing to balayage and tonal layering, hairdressers proved their prowess, blending education with a dazzling live showcase.

    The event spanned a massive one lakh square feet space at Nesco, featuring 60 backwashes and over 5,000 hair colour tubes. It created a buzz online too, generating over 1,000 social mentions in a single day, highlighting the hairstylists’ skill and creativity while giving them a platform to inspire peers and clients alike.

    “Hair Color Coders 2025 showcases our ability to set global benchmarks while celebrating India’s hairstyling talent,” said L’oréal India, director, professional products division, Zeenia Bastani. “It was a mega masterclass in creativity, skill, and sheer passion for hairdressing.”

    In the months leading up to the event, participants honed their craft through intensive masterclasses, ensuring every transformation reflected precision, artistry, and innovation. L’oréal professionnel India, head of education, Priya Kasthuri Rangan added, “This platform allowed hairstylists to upskill, showcase expertise, and embrace a community built on passion and commitment.”

    The day ended with a show-stopping makeover for Kritika Kamra, her hair emerging vibrant, glossy, and perfectly styled in iconic browns. With Hair Color Coders 2025, L’oréal professionnel not only celebrated a record but reinforced its mission: to elevate professional hairdressing in India, combining education, creativity, and innovation in one unforgettable moment.

    P&G Health raises awareness on Anaemia with a Guinness World Record

    Mumbai:  Procter & Gamble (P&G) Health & the Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (Fogsi) have created a unique world record for the largest number of videos of people saying the same sentence uploaded to Facebook in one hour.

    The campaign was planned to raise awareness on Iron Deficiency Anaemia. Over 2000 people participated in this video series and uploaded their version of the video on social media, said the company.

    Guinness World Records official adjudicator Rishi Nath shared that the record for Most videos of people saying the same sentence uploaded to Facebook in one hour was never attempted before.  

    P&G is raising awareness about iron deficiency in India, which is carrying the largest burden of anaemia globally, contributing to an estimated 80 per cent of maternal deaths with almost 53 per cent of pregnant women being anemic, according to National Family Health Survey-4 (NFHS-4).

    Iron deficiency is a leading cause of anaemia, especially among women and adolescent girls, leading to stunted growth, irregular menstrual cycles, fatigue, and loss of energy among other issues.  Further, seven out of every 10 children aged 6-59 months in India are anaemic.

    Procter & Gamble Health managing director Milind Thatte said, “By doing this we aim to raise awareness on iron deficiency anaemia, help people identify early symptoms, and take measures to overcome them. We are committed to continued efforts towards the day when we, as a country, will be free from Anaemia.”

    FOGSI president Dr Shantha Kumari said it was an important milestone, wherein people and medical practitioners from across the country have come together to contribute towards creating awareness on Iron Deficiency Anaemia and its associated problems.

This incredible feat was achieved by Dream11 during the 2019 final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Dream11 users created over 1 crore (1,03,17,928) fantasy teams to compete in this fantasy sports match. To claim this record, Dream11 had to prove the participation of at least 40 lakh fantasy teams in that particular match. This is the first-ever Guinness World Records in the Online Fantasy Sports category.

    The electrifying finale, which had the entire country on the edge of their seats, also proved to be an exciting playground for fantasy sports enthusiasts as fans of the game unequivocally surpassed the minimum requirement of fantasy teams playing the game of cricket at a given time to create history. Dream11 recorded over 1 crore fantasy teams created by over 43 lakh (43,77,610) unique users playing together for the final match of Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

    Vakrangee makes Guinness World Record with 1107 simultaneous store launches

    MUMBAI: Mumbai-based technology company Vakrangee, which connects India's rural citizens with its modern ecosystem through its retail network of Vakrangee Kendra, has entered the Guinness World Records by launching 1,107 stores at 11:07 am on 14 January 2019. It achieved this by beating the existing Guinness World Records title of ‘Most stores launched simultaneously’ of 505 stores held by Xiaomi Technology India Pvt Ltd, which it had made in 2018.

    These 1,107 stores were part of the 3,300+ Nextgen Vakrangee Kendras which were launched on the same day. These Nextgen stores offer a comprehensive range of products and services across banking, insurance, ATM, assisted e-commerce, e-governance, financial services, and logistics. These Nextgen outlets are spread across 19 states, 350+ districts and 2,000+ postal codes of the country, out of which more than 70 per cent outlets are from tier 5 and tier 6 cities.

    Commenting on the same, Vakrangee founder promoter and executive chairman Dinesh Nandwana said, “We are honoured and excited to receive this certification from Guiness World Records.     MUMBAI: Eenadu Champion Cricket Cup has bagged the prestigious Guinness World Records for being the largest cricketing tournament in the world. With participation of as many as 1573 teams, the inter-college cricket tournament promotes the game of cricket among youth.

    Veteran actor Jagdish Raj leaves for heavenly abode

    MUMBAI: A mainstay of Bollywood for 21 years, the man who reportedly earned his recognition in the Guinness World Records as the film industry’s most typecast actor Jagdish Raj is no more. He is known for his role as a police inspector in at least 144 films.

     

    Back in the 1960s, a big Hollywood casting director called Harvey Wood came and selected him for a police inspector’s role. Although he had done many films before as hero and villain, but he found popularity reprising the role of police inspector time and again.

     

    Twenty years later, he bumped into Harvey Wood again. He looked at him and said, “Bloody hell! You’re still in the same uniform.” He asked Raj to mail him the details of all his films as he was onto a world record for the most occupational role. Later the Guinness book people sent a team to Bombay to verify facts before they entered his name in their book.

     

    Born in Pakistan, Raj was featured in releases including Deewar, Don, Shakti, Mazdoor, and Imaan Dharam before he retired in 1992. He’s also known as the father of Bollywood star Anita Raj.

     

    Raj had been in and out of hospital for the past two years and had respiratory problems. He died in Mumbai at 84 due to a respiratory arrest on 28 July, according to his son-in-law Rakesh Malhotra.
