    MUMBAI: Kalyan Jewellers has launched its new digital campaign for the festival of Gudi Padwa. The digital campaign features Kalyan Jewellers’ regional brand ambassador and Marathi actress Pooja Sawant in a traditional avatar, wearing jewellery from Kalyan Jewellers’ brand new Sankalp jewellery collection paired with a nauvari saree.

    Gudi Padwa, which marks the beginning of a new year is celebrated in the state of Maharashtra with huge fanfare. Considering Gudi Padwa is one of the most auspicious gold buying muhurat of the year, the brand has launched the new Maharashtrian heritage inspired jewellery line Sankalp. This digital campaign encapsulates the various customs and rituals followed by a new bride on Gudi Padwa, highlighting that these traditional practices is something that the millennials continue to honour and upkeep. It is for the first time that Kalyan Jewellers has launched a digital-only campaign for Gudi Padwa.

    Speaking about the campaign Kalyan Jewellers ED Ramesh Kalyanaraman said, “Gudi Padwa is a great time to renew our commitments to this market, and showcase the vast variety of traditional Maharashtrian designs that Kalyan Jewellers has to offer.   • Amazon Prime brings Fugay & Autograph on Gudi Padwa

    MUMBAI: The festival of Gudi Padwa brings families and loved ones together to ring in the New Year and celebrate new beginnings. This year, Amazon Prime Video gives audiences another reason to celebrate by bringing together some of the best and biggest Marathi blockbusters on its platform. Just weeks after its theatrical release, catch the world premiere (before television) of Fugay starring Swwapnil Joshi and Subodh Bhave exclusively on Amazon Prime Video; and later in June 2017, Prime members can watch the popular movie Autograph with Ankkush Chaudhari and Amruta Khanvilkar in lead roles.

    Fugay is a story that revolves around two inseparable childhood best friends Swwapnil Joshi and Subodh Bhave. Swwapnil gets engaged to Prarthana Behere who is extremely possessive about him and also doesn’t approve of the bond between Swwapnil and Subodh. Assuming they won’t get to enjoy the same fun, they both decide to go for one last bachelor party to Goa. In Goa, they have a lot of fun but also make a mistake that leads to hilarious fun. What happens when they come back and how both Swwapnil and Subodh have to explain themselves, go back to clarify and prove their innocence is what makes the movie full of fun and laughter. Starring Swapnil Joshi, Subodh Bhave and Prarthana Behere in leading roles, this complete family entertainer sees the mayhem their unusual friendship creates. Directed by, Swapna Waghmare Joshi, this hilarious family drama can be seen exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

    Also, actor-director Nishikant Kamat will be seen as a villain in Fugay. He has directed ‘Dombivali Fast’ and ‘Lai Bhari’ earlier and debuts as an actor with this film.

    Upcoming Marathi film, Autograph, stars Ankush Chaudhari, Satish Rajwade, Amruta Khanvilkar and Manasi Moghe. Produced under the STV Networks banner, the film is set to release later this year.     Viacom18 unveils new channel identity of Colors Marathi

    MUMBAI: On the occasion of Gudi Padwa – the Marathi New Year, Viacom18 has unveiled the new channel identity of Colors Marathi, the channel based on cultural ethos of Maharashtra.

     

    This is a part of the recent announcement by Viacom18 on expanding its portfolio by rebranding five ETV regional general entertainment channels under the Colors brand name. The foray was flagged off by Colors Marathi in a star-studded Gudi Padwa extravaganza on 20 March, 2015 by revealing the channel’s new identity. 

     

    The change will be brought alive on 22 March, 2015 by airing the visual extravaganza – the Marathi International Film and Theatre Awards (MICTA), an event that saw the best in Marathi film and theatre celebrate the success of the industry in Dubai.

     

    The entertainment quotient will further be upped with the launch of three new show premiering on 23 March namely, Amchya Gharat Soon Bai Joraat at 6.30 pm, Majha Hoshil Ka at 9.30 pm and Sakhi at 10 pm.

     

    Colors Marathi business head Anuj Poddar said, “We are truly excited about this new chapter and are looking forward to doing what we do best – to bring great quality content and entertainment to millions of our Marathi viewers.     Marathi version of No Entry in offing

    MUMBAI: Bollywood hit No Entry will have a Marathi version. The remake of Boney Kapoor‘s film will go on floors tomorrow, celebrating Gudi Padwa, the Maharashtrian New Year.

    Titled No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aaahey!, the film will be produced by Premnath Rajagopalan and Nikhil Saini under the banner of Underground Films.

    Elaborating on whether he sold the remake rights, Kapoor said: “I know the producers Rajagopalan and Saini for a long time. After they showed an inclination to make a Marathi remake of No Entry, I gave him the NOC to make the film.”

    The producers have enlisted reputed Marathi actors like Bharat Jadhav, Ankush Choudhari, Kranti Redkar, Saie Tamhankar, Aniket Vishwasrao, Sai Lokur, Manava Naik and Paddy Kambli to play the lead roles essayed in the original by Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Lara Dutta Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol, Celina Jaitley and others.

    The principal shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in May 2012 in Goa and Mumbai under director Milind Arun Kavde.
