    Amazon Fresh serves up a feast across 270 cities

    MUMBAI: Talk about a shopping sprint. Amazon Fresh is racing ahead this festive season, now available in more than 270 cities across India. The expansion, timed with the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF), marks a 4.5 times growth in reach in just two years and a 40 per cent year-on-year surge in orders within the first two days of AGIF.

    From Gorakhpur to Coimbatore, Jalandhar to Hubli, and Jamshedpur to Vellore, customers can now access over 40,000 products delivered to their doorsteps in convenient two-hour slots. The selection spans farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, staples, dairy, packaged foods, frozen items, personal care, beauty, baby and pet essentials, as well as 3,000 regionally loved favourites, including Rajdhani atta, Eastern masalas, GRB sweets, and Sri Bhagyalaxmi staples.

    Amazon Fresh India director Srikant Sree Ram said, “Amazon Fresh has grown 4.5 times in reach and 10 times in selection in just two years, transforming how families across India shop for groceries online. By expanding to over 270 cities, we are bringing everyday essentials and festive favourites to more households than ever before. This has been possible thanks to the growth of our seller network and our advanced delivery capabilities, creating one of India’s largest omnichannel grocery networks.”

    The initiative is powered by a robust farm-to-doorstep network, working with over 13,000 registered farmers. Every product undergoes a four-step quality process including local collection point inspections, grading and sorting, temperature-controlled storage, and final quality checks to ensure freshness and reliability.

    More Retail Limited (MRL), a seller on Amazon Fresh, reported that converting more than 370 offline stores to serve Amazon Fresh customers has fueled a 65 per cent year-on-year growth in 2024, which continues to rise during AGIF.

    During the festival, shoppers can snap up deals starting at just Rs 1 and claim a maximum cashback of Rs 400 on their grocery baskets. Diwali décor essentials, including lights, rangoli kits, and traditional sweets, have also been added, giving families the convenience of festive shopping alongside daily essentials. Every weekend, Amazon Fresh Super Value Days provide extra savings on weekly groceries and household products.

    With over 40,000 products now on offer, a 10-fold increase from just 4,000 in 2023, Amazon Fresh is bridging the gap between farm and doorstep while celebrating regional diversity.     MUMBAI: GRB Entertainment announced sales of several of its top crime documentaries to broadcasters in the Caribbean, Poland, Denmark, and the U.K.

    International Media Content Limited in the Caribbean bought Black and Blue, a gripping one-hour doc showcasing the disturbing real-life stories of young black men facing persistent racial profiling and police brutality — and the black officers in their neighborhood who are caught between their job fighting crime and their own identity.

    Polsat in Poland picked up The Six Degrees of Helter Skelter – the 2-hour documentary takes audiences into the horrific world of the Manson Family, visiting over 40 locations related to the infamous Tate/LaBianca murders, and outlining the dozens of odd connections between Charles Manson and the Hollywood elite.

    WP1 Grupa in Poland, Danish Broadcasting Corporation in Denmark, and Sony Entertainment Networks in the UK acquired Babies Behind Bars, a compelling 90-minute doc following the lives of female inmates at Washington Corrections Center participating in a remarkable program allowing them to raise their babies while they serve time.

    Sony also took Until Proven Innocent: The Hannah Overton Story which examines the mysterious salt poisoning death of four-year old Andrew Burd. His foster mother, Hannah Overton, was charged with capital murder and sent to prison for life. But was this churchgoing young woman a vicious child killer? Or had the tragedy claimed its second victim?

  • GRB takes docu-series & crime stories to Africa

    MUMBAI: GRB Entertainment has announced a slate of docu-series, documentaries and crime program sales in Africa to MNET and ETV.

    MNET acquired several docu-series including two seasons of the long-running series Braxton Family Values which features the rambunctious, tight-knit Braxton sisters — Grammy-winning artist Toni Braxton, her four sisters and their headstrong mother for an inside look at their lives. ­Cleveland Hustles follows basketball legend LeBron James and friend Maverick Carter as they give four aspiring local entrepreneurs the chance to realize their dreams while also revitalizing neighborhoods in their hometown of Cleveland. Flex and Shanice takes a look at the lives of 90’s pop singer Shanice and her husband, actor Flex Alexander and their extended family all living together under one roof as they strive to get back on their feet financially. Raising Whitley follows comedian Kym Whitley and her hilarious group of friends – whom she calls “The Village” – as they attempt to do something none of them have ever done before: raise a baby…together.

    MNET also picked up Black In America, a collection of 8 documentaries exploring race and identity for African Americans as it pertains to education, business, community life, and even families.

    ETV also acquired two seasons of Braxton Family Values along with successful spin-off series Tamar & Vince following rising musical superstar Tamar Braxton and her music-mogul husband, Vince Herbert, as they balance their careers with their personal lives. ETV took the full series, seven seasons, of long-running investigative crime series On The Case, exploring murder mysteries through in-depth interviews with witnesses and suspects while examining the forensic evidence that helped to unravel the mystery.

    MUMBAI: GRB Entertainment has announced sales of a variety of programs over multiple genres to Canada, Asia Pacific, and Spain.

    Game TV in Canada acquired competition series Showdown of the Unbeatables where inventors and entrepreneurs put their unique products and machines – and reputations – to the test.

    GRB’s award-winning in-house production, docu-series Untold Stories of the E.R. continues to make its way around the world. The series features intense real-life stories demonstrating the true dramatic nature of medicine practiced under pressure, where every moment can be a turning point. Discovery Spain took Seasons 7 and 8 while Discovery Asia-Pac acquired Season 5 plus 12 different themed, new Specials.

    SBS Broadcasting Australia acquired two new seasons of the unique, award-winning scripted dramedy Mohawk Girls about four young women trying to find their place in the world and, of course, find love.

    Lifestyle series Bar Hunters follows a variety of characters searching for the perfect location to open their dream bar. But when friends disagree and budgets get in the way, will they be able to find their dream space?

    West Coast Customs brings audiences stories of amazing car builds and customizations from rendering to reality, transforming cars for Sir Richard Branson, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Rascal Flatts and other celebrities.

    Loose Screws is a zany clip series highlighting backyard geniuses and garage warriors who make wacky inventions at home that are completely insane, seemingly useless, but always hilarious and inspirational.

    Bloopers features a non-stop blitz of painful mistakes, hilarious gaffes, adorable babies, and amazing pets. Host Dean Cain and a cast of thousands jam-pack each episode with the most exciting, entertaining and downright outrageous videos ever.

    African channel ZAP, covering Angola and Mozambique, also acquired Bloopers.

    Ukraine’s Studio 7 took Anatomy of Disaster — an exhilarating journey into the frightening world of natural disasters where ordinary people tell their extraordinary stories of tragedy, survival and heroism.

    Kinosvet in the Czech Republic acquired four series: dramatic adventure series Expeditions to the Edge where explorers make life or death decisions in harrowing situations; Missing Link explores paranormal phenomena – divine manifestations, witchcraft, Satanism, UFOs and poltergeists – and asks questions that challenge current scientific principles; and Mysterious Worlds which takes viewers into dark underworlds to explore the unknown, the paranormal, and the bizarre subcultures.     RTL-Hrvatska in Croatia picked up the entertaining real-life docu-series Auction Kings following Atlanta’s most successful auction house owner, Paul Brown who works with an eclectic mix of consignors who bring their varied treasures to sell to the highest bidders.
