BANGALORE: Graphic India, a digital platform from Liquid Comics to promote comic books in India and showcase young artists and writers in the country, announced it is releasing a new comedy-thriller, “UnHoli,” for free on Facebook starting yesterday to tie-in to India’s annual Holi festival of colours. The author for unHoli is Samit Basu (Turbulence, The GameWorld Trilogy) and the artist is Jeevan J. Kang (7 Brothers, Ramayan 3392A.D., The Sadhu). |

Readers will be able to read the series for free daily over the next month and share the pages with friends. Readers of the web series can also participate in the “UnHoli covered in color contest,” where fans can post a photograph of themselves on Graphic India’s Facebook wall page, covered in colors and looking the most inhuman and zombie-like as they can. The photo with the most “likes” will win a stack of 50 assorted comic books and be featured on Graphic India’s website as India’s reigning Zombie King or Zombie Queen. |

Stan Lees Chakra: The Invincible to premiere on Cartoon Network on November 30 at 12pm
MUMBAI: As the year comes to an end, kids will have a new Indian hero to cheer for with unique superpowers and a will to defeat all evil! Legendary writer – Stan Lee’s first ever Indian superhero Chakra: The Invincible premieres on November 30 at 12pm only on Cartoon Network.
The recently announced partnership between Cartoon Network, Graphic India and POW! Entertainment will bring to life a new superhero of local origin. Chakra: The Invincible tells the story of Raju Rai, a young Indian boy living in Mumbai. Raju and his mentor, the scientist Dr. Singh, develop a technology suit that activates the mystical chakras of the body. When Raju dons the suit, he discovers superpowers and vows to use his newfound abilities to protect and serve. Using his amazing powers, Chakra must save the city and the world from super villains!

Graphic India appoints Salil Bhargava as COO
MUMBAI: Graphic India, a character entertainment company, has appointed former Jump Games CEO Salil Bhargava as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The company is focused on creating leading characters, comics and stories for the Indian youth market through mobile and digital platforms.
Bhargava, an veteran in the industry and brings more than twelve years of experience in media, entertainment and digital companies in India and overseas, will report to Sharad Devarajan, Co-Founder and CEO of Graphic India.
CA Media, the Asian investment arm of The Chernin Group, had acquired an undisclosed large minority stake in Graphic India in January this year.
Commenting on the new appointment, Graphic India Co-Founder & CEO Sharad Devarajan said, “Salil has been a leading force in pioneering India‘s mobile entertainment industry over the last decade and I am delighted to bring his experience to Graphic as we build a digital media company that transforms the Indian character entertainment industry with new heroes and stories to inspire the world.”

Salil has a Bachelors Degree in Commerce from Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce, Pune. He has studied at Michigan State University in USA and holds an MBA degree from Eli Broad Graduate School of Management.

Cartoon Network, Graphic India, POW! Entertainment get together for Chakra: The Invincible
MUMBAI: Cartoon Network, Graphic India and POW! Entertainment have announced a partnership that will bring to life Stan Lee’s first ever Indian superhero. The legendary writer is the co-creator of the world’s most popular superheroes including Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Hulk, The Avengers, and many others. The movie, entitled Chakra: The Invincible, will premiere on Cartoon Network on Saturday, 30 November at 12pm.
Talking about his first ever Indian superhero Stan Lee said, “I am incredibly excited to be collaborating with my friends at Graphic India as we launch this great new, thrill-a-minute superhero saga named, Chakra: The Invincible, on Cartoon Network.”
