    AEGON Life Insurance launches video series campaign

    MUMBAI: Aegon Life Insurance, India’s digital insurance company, recently rolled out its video series campaign named ‘AEGONs of Business’, to bring forth the journey of entrepreneurs who took the unconventional path towards success. The video series was launched today in conjunction with BloombergQuint and will feature entrepreneurs such as Purplle.com founder Manish Talreja, No Broker.in founder Amit Agarwal, Gozoop founder Ahmed Aftab Naqvi, Chumbak founders Prabhakar and Shubhra Chadda, Rakyan Beverages founder Anuj Rakyan.

    Commenting on the launch of the series Aegon Life Insurance DVP marketing Mandeep Singh Gulati said, “We are in the business of life insurance where we always encourage our customers to secure their future so that available resources can be pooled in to fulfil present aspirations. By making them financially secure we aim to inculcate a ‘never stop’ attitude in them. AEGONs of Business is our way of bringing to the fore inspiring stories to motivate new age Indians.”

    In a culture that either treats entrepreneurs as heroes to be emulated or abject failures, this show aims to honour the spirit of entrepreneurship, which embraces both of these experiences as transient, and very much a part of the game with a ‘never stop’ attitude towards growth.

    The interview series will be led by by Govindraj Ethiraj, a versatile and renowned Indian business journalist. The series is unique as it focuses not just on what “worked” for these entrepreneurs in their journey, but on what didn’t and how they overcame the challenge.

    Ping Digital’s internet food channel launched

    MUMBAI: Mumbai-based Ping Digital Broadcast has officially launched its online cooking channel India Food Network.

    Ping Digital Broadcast, an online content producer, will produce and distribute original content through a network of channels hosted on YouTube. These channels will span the knowledge, utility & lifestyle genres.

    The company recently raised its first, angel round of funding from two investors, Ashwin Dhamera, former Founder of Travelguru, and Ankur Daga, CEO of Angara.com, a New York based precious stones e-commerce venture.

    Vivek Law to join Bloomberg UTV as editor

    MUMBAI: Bloomberg UTV has appointed CNBC-TV18 national editor Vivek Law as its editor.

    Law has resigned at CNBC-TV18 and will be joining Bloomberg UTV from 1 November.

    “Law is joining us as editor from 1 November,” Bloomberg UTV CEO MK Anand confirmed to Indiantelevision.com.

    Bloomberg UTV Editor-in-Chief Govindraj Ethiraj had earlier moved out to join Nandan Nilekani in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) project being undertaken by the Government of India.  
    Law comes with over 15 years of experience in journalism and has worked with India Today, Economic Times, Business Standard and The Financial Express.

    Govindraj Ethiraj quits Bloomberg UTV

    MUMBAI: Bloomberg UTV Editor-in-Chief Govindraj Ethiraj has put in his papers at the business news channel. He will remain with the channel till the end of September,working with the business leadership team to ensure a smooth transition.

    Ethiraj will be joining Nandan Nilekani to be a part of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) project being undertaken by the Government of India.

    Ethiraj was one of the founding members of Bloomberg UTV (then UTVi) and has played a crucial role in establishing Bloomberg UTV’s operations in the country and growing it from the pilot stage in 2006.

    UTV Group chairman and CEO Ronnie Screwvala said, “Since Bloomberg UTV’s inception, Govind has been one of the key catalysts in ensuring the genesis and birth of a new business entity and successfully navigating it though it’s pilot stage. His departure will be a loss for us, but we fully understand and support his decision to answer to a higher call of duty in being of service to our country. The strong leadership team that Govind has built on the editorial side will ensure that Bloomberg UTV is well set for its next stage of growth across television, internet and mobile.”

    Ethiraj added, “I have always wanted to work on a project that reflected ambition and scale and, at the same time, helped understand my country and its real issues better. The UIDAI project gives me the opportunity to do that and work with an exciting and committed team led by Nilekani.”

    UTVi in content tie up with Business Standard

    MUMBAI: UTVi, the soon to be launched English business news channel, has announced a content tie-up with financial daily Business Standard.

    Aimed at augmenting the news content supply, UTVi will air BS Wire, BS Alerts and BS Breaking News along with the business bytes throughout the day, based on the merit of the news.

    The strategic alliance will help UTVi to keep its audiences updated with the latest developments on the business news front, with inputs from Business Standard bureaus. 

    Business Standard editor TN Ninan says, “We are happy to partner with UTVi in this venture. This alliance gives us an excellent opportunity to combine the quality content of a business newspaper with the immediacy of television news.” 

    UTVi will get into the Business Standard news room to showcase senior journalists and subject experts. The views of these journalists and experts will be captured on air through programs such as a stock market preview in the morning, an edit page review or overview, and news items like “Tomorrow’s Headlines Tonight”.

    The business channel can also showcase Business Standard’s research information. Business Standard in turn will publish extracts of interviews and stories telecast on UTVi , as well as occasionally print the highlights of big shows and interviews shown on the channel. 

    UTVi editor-in-chief Govindraj Ethiraj says, “We see considerable synergy and learning for us.” 

    UTVi already has a strategic content tie-up with Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific), the international TV distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company, for ABC News programming and services.
