    Indiacast partners with ABS Broadcast to launch Viacom18 channels on Sky Glass

    Mumbai: IndiaCast Media Distribution has partnered with ABS Broadcast to launch Viacom18’s marquee channels – Colors and Colors Rishtey on the streaming TV platform Sky Glass. Launched in October last year, the custom-designed 4K TV doesn’t require a satellite dish or box for it to work.

    Viewers in the UK can now watch shows such as “Bigg Boss,” “The Big Picture,” “Dance Deewane” and others on the Sky Glass platform with more content added every day.

    “We wanted to expand onto Sky Glass, and choosing ABS Broadcast to deliver proved to be a decision which has more than paid off,” said IndiaCast Media Distribution executive vice president and head international business Govind Shahi. Indiacast is a multi-platform content asset monetisation entity jointly owned by TV18 and Viacom18. “It’s important that our channels are accessible across as many platforms as possible, and I am pleased to say that Colors and Colors Rishtey are now available on Sky Glass for our UK audiences.”

    The addition of Viacom18 channels has set ABS Broadcast as the provider with most launches on Sky Glass.

    Indiacast rejigs top management to streamline expansion plans

    MUMBAI: IndiaCast, the domestic distribution, international and digital business arm of Viacom18 and TV18, has restructured its international team with a sharper focus on bolstering business. The move aims at consolidating operational efficiency and bringing in synergies.

    The restructuring exercise is aimed at making the organisation future-ready as it enters its next growth phase. With this move, IndiaCast has emphasised its focus on alternative revenue sources such as digital and live events in its international business.

    The role of Govind Shahi has been expanded as the business head for Europe, Americas, APAC and Outbound Sales. The functional heads of the above-mentioned regions will now report to him directly.

    Sachin Gokhale will now assume the role of heading the corporate strategy, operations for international business, and will continue to oversee the Middle East and Africa region.

    Debkumar Dasgupta continues to head the syndication, new media / digital licensing businesses. In addition to the same, he will also oversee the south Asia linear business.

    All the international business heads will report into IndiaCast Group CEO Anuj Gandhi.

    Gandhi said, “We are at the cusp of a big change in our industry with alternate sources of growth emerging in terms of the technology and business models globally. Keeping in mind the ever-changing landscape, it is important for us to have a structure which is agile, empowers business heads to challenge the given and capitalise on opportunities.”

    MUMBAI: IndiaCast, the domestic and international distribution arm of Viacom18 and TV18, has announced an organizational realignment within its top management, where in  Chief financial officer Sanjay Jain has been additionally appointed as head of international business and will continue reporting to IndiaCast Group CEO Anuj Gandhi. All the International Business heads along with Outbound Sales and International Operations teams will report into Jain. IndiaCast also announced a series of leadership changes by establishing empowered business responsibilities across regions. 

    After successfully managing the business in UK, Govind Shahi  has now been elevated to manage the US region along with his existing remit as business head UK & USA, followed by Sachin Gokhale,  who will also oversee the companies’ activities in APAC, in addition to his current role as the business head of the MEA. Debkumar Dasgupta is now the business head of Syndication, New Media & South Asia. 

    Commenting on the organizational restructuring, IndiaCast Group CEO  Anuj Gandhi said, “Over the last several years our top management has demonstrated innovative approaches in content monetization and marketing across the globe. Sanjay brings to the table nearly two and half decades of financial and general management experience.     MUMBAI: TV18 and Viacom18’s local and international distribution wing, IndiaCast announced a new EPG number for Colors UK on the DTH platform Sky. Colors UK will shift from EPG number 821 to number 786 with effect from 5 April.  This move will make the channel visible on the first page of the International channels selection guide menu for Sky subscribers. Sky subscribers will be intimated about the new EPG number for Colors UK through an announcement on the network as well as via social media platforms.

    IndiaCast group CEO Anuj Gandhi said, “IndiaCast has always endeavoured to present quality entertainment options to the Indian diaspora across the globe bringing them one step closer to Indian culture and content. Moving Colors UK up to EPG number 786 enables us to create top-of-mind recall for the channel and its content, thereby building engagement with Sky subscribers.”

    MUMBAI: Govind Shahi has joined Heath Media Group as a co-promoter in their existing business ventures.

    Shahi brings with him over 15 years of experience in media and marketing and moves in from Zee Europe, where he served as the head for the last 2 and a half years.

    In UK, Shahi has been credited for launching and spearheading some of Zee‘s key initiatives like the Zee Carnival, Zee Russia operations, Zee Cine Awards.
