    Adobe unlocks 1,500+ fonts, adds support for 10 Indian languages

    MUMBAI: Adobe has rolled out its most extensive font update in half a decade, adding over 1,500 new fonts to its Adobe Fonts library now with full support for ten major Indian languages Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Oriya, and Urdu.

    Available at no extra cost to all Creative Cloud subscribers, this expansion gives Indian creators more flexibility to work across multiple scripts and platforms without compromising on design quality or linguistic accuracy.

    The update brings globally popular fonts such as Helvetica, Gotham, Avenir, Times New Roman, Arial, and Proxima Nova now available in more language variants, including four additional Indian scripts for Proxima Nova.

    With over 30,000 fonts now available, Adobe Fonts ensures seamless access and integration across tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and Adobe Express, allowing creators to stay on-brand and friction-free, whether on desktop or mobile.

    Among the key benefits of this upgrade, consistent typography across branding, presentations, and editorial design, instant access to frequently used fonts across all devices and apps, reduced font-missing errors when sharing or opening design files.  

    This move strengthens Adobe’s global type offerings and caters to India’s multilingual design demands, setting the stage for more culturally inclusive and versatile visual storytelling.

    Starring Colin Farrell in the titular role, the eight-episode HBO Original limited series from DC Studios continues the epic crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with the global blockbuster – The Batman (2022), and acts as a vital link to its forthcoming sequel.

With an array of five popular shows, along with a brand new action series, the platform’s subscribers can watch these shows on-the go, anytime, anywhere on their internet connected devices.

    “Indian viewers often have to wait for weeks, even months to watch their favourite U.S. shows. With Zee Café now broadcasting these shows along with the US, fans can watch the latest seasons and be as updated as their U.S. counterparts.

    With this new lineup of international shows, dittoTV brings together an interesting mix of genres – drama, comedy and action on a single online platform, which caters to the content preferences of the young Indian audience,” said dittoTV business head Archana Anand.

    Secrets and Lies season 2 will air on Mondays at 10 pm whereas Big Bang Theory season 2 will air on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. The season 3 of Gotham will air on Tuesdays at 10 pm. Series premiere of Lethal Weapon will happen on Thursday at 10 pm. The season 2 of Supergirl will air on Tuesdays at 7 pm while season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy will air on weekdays at 6 pm.

    Apart from this addition, the platform offers access to over 100 live channels like the entire Zee Network, Colors, Sony, Aaj Tak, BBC, MTV and Ten Sports.

    MUMBAI: Singapore based video-on-demand service, HOOQ, has joined hands with Bengaluru’s ACT Fibernet. With this strategic partnership, ACT customers of Hyderabad will be able to avail a month’s free subscription of the service.

    The partnership is being piloted in Hyderabad, and will later be taken to other ACT markets such as Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi.

    “Under this partnership, ACT customers will be able to avail one month of free HOOQ subscription that translates into a window to unlimited streaming of over 10,000 Hollywood, Bollywood and local movies along with drama titles available on HOOQ,” said HOOQ India MD Salil Kapoor.

    Through this, the viewers can view HOOQ’s exclusives and television shows like Flash, Arrow, Gotham, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, etc. Further, the viewers could download the content for viewing at leisure, he explained.

    ACT Group CEO Bala Malladi added, “Hyderabad is one of the highest internet penetrated markets.”

    Furthermore, as earlier reported by Indiantelevision.com, the VOD service plans to invest $ 2 million in original Indian content. This is a part of its APAC strategy to start sourcing local original content in Asian countries.

    HOOQ, a joint venture of SingTel, Sony Pictures TV and Warner Bros., entered the Indian market in May this year with a catalogue of over 10,000 movies and TV series.

    Warner TV to launch on Singapore’s Singtel TV

    MUMBAI: Singapore’s Singtel TV viewers will now be able to catch the latest US series within hours of their US premiere with the launch of Warner TV (HD). Starting 1 January, 2016, Warner TV will be available on Channel 306 in high definition.

     

    Warner TV features action, comedy and drama titles and movies from Warner Bros. and Turner. Some of them includeArrow, Gotham, iZombie and Blindspot; comedy series such as Mom, The Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls; and weekend movies including Gravity, Pacific Rim and Hangover 3 amongst others.

     

    The January launch will also be anchored by the premiere of the highly-anticipated action series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will air same day as the US, on Friday, 22 January at 9 pm. The series, which stars familiar characters from other hit DC series including Arrow and The Flash, brings together an all-star cast as they battle against a diabolical threat against the world.

Warner TV (HD) is part of the Family Starter pack and will be available for free preview to all Singtel TV subscribers until 4 February, 2016. The channel will also be available via the on-demand service Warner TV Encore, which can be accessed through the Singtel TV companion app, Singtel TV GO.
