Godrej’s AI washing machine cleans up the detergent residue problem

MUMBAI: Godrej is out to scrub away an invisible laundry menace – leftover detergent. Its latest ad campaign for the brand’s AI-powered front load washing machines takes a bubbly problem and turns it into a cheeky, watchable spin.

The campaign zeroes in on something most of us don’t notice but often feel: detergent residue clinging stubbornly to freshly washed clothes. Over time, it can dull colours, roughen fabrics and even irritate skin. Enter Godrej’s new AI-powered turbidity sensing technology, which can detect detergent traces in the wash cycle and rinse out up to 50 per cent more of the harsh stuff.

To get the message across, Godrej has rolled out a series of 20-second films that exaggerate the problem to comic effect. In each film, detergent makes a foamy, surprise appearance playful, over-the-top and impossible to ignore before the smart washing machine swoops in with its fix.

Godrej Enterprises Group head of marketing- appliances business Swati Rathi, explained. “Detergent residue is a real but often overlooked issue. Our AI-powered turbidity sensing tech ensures smarter washes, gentler fabric care and skin-friendlier laundry.”

The campaign, conceptualised by Creativeland Asia, leans on humour to drive home the point. “We took an invisible problem and dramatized it until it couldn’t be ignored,” said co-founder & creative vice-chairman Anu Joseph.

The films are live across digital video platforms and give laundry care, quite literally, a whole new spin.

FCB India spins gold in PR specialist agency of the year at Abby Creative Awards by One Show

GOA: Day two of Goafest 2025 witnessed FCB India absolutely demolishing the competition in the public relations category, proving that sometimes the best way to handle PR is to simply be brilliant at it.

The agency swept to victory as ‘public relations specialist agency of the year’ with a frankly ridiculous haul of 66 points, built on four golds, three silvers, three bronzes and two merits. It was the sort of performance that left rivals wondering whether they’d accidentally entered a different competition entirely.

Leo India managed a respectable runner-up spot with 38 points, courtesy of three silvers, four bronzes and two merits—though one suspects they might have preferred trading some of that bronze for a bit more gold. Tribes Communication rounded out the podium with 26 points, bagging one gold, two silvers, one bronze and a merit in what can only be described as a thoroughly balanced performance.

The others  made their presence felt too. BC Web Wise nabbed 10 points with one silver and one bronze, whilst Grey group and Mudra Max each scored eight points—Grey group with a single gold and Mudra Max with two bronzes. Meanwhile, ^a t o m network, Godrej Enterprises group, and Social Panga – Higa Digital all managed six points apiece, proving that in the PR game, every point counts.

Even the laggards got their moment. Grey Alchemy picked up four points with a bronze, whilst boAt Lifestyle and Digitas each secured two points with a merit—hardly earth-shattering, perhaps, but better than going home empty-handed.

The Abby Creative Awards 2025, powered by The One Show, continued their relentless march through specialist categories, with broadcaster, digital specialist, design specialist, mobile specialist, technology specialist, and direct specialist awards all up for grabs.

  • Godrej’s AI smart fridge rolls out the red velvet carpet for cooling

Godrej’s AI smart fridge rolls out the red velvet carpet for cooling

MUMBAI: If your fridge knew your midnight munchies were coming, would you still call it an appliance or a companion? Running across TV, digital, social media, OOH and retail, the campaign taps into the modern Indian’s holy trinity of consumer expectations: convenience, technology, and sleek design. At the heart of the narrative is the fridge’s AI tech, which learns how often the doors are opened, adapts cooling based on what you stuff inside, and even saves energy while doing it.

Speaking on this campaign Godrej Enterprises Group head of marketing at appliances business Swati Rathi said, “The modern Indian consumers evaluate all their purchases through the lens of convenience, technology and aesthetics and our new launch more than meets the consumer expectations on each of these fronts. With outstanding looks, inbuilt intelligence and convenience, the new Eon Velvet series is already winning consumer hearts at the stores and with the new video campaign, we are unveiling it to a wider audience.”

The premium series is available in three eye-catching shades Opera Rose, Opera Black and Opera Blue and promises to double as both kitchen showstopper and silent workhorse. A digital touch panel, inverter compressor, and whisper-quiet cooling round out the list of features.

From eye-level hoardings in top metros to influencer-led peeks inside these luxury coolers, the campaign aims to make a household appliance feel like a lifestyle upgrade.

So if your fridge can now outsmart your snack habits and still match your kitchen aesthetics maybe it’s time to stop calling it “just a refrigerator.” The Eon Velvet is here, and it’s cool in every sense.

  • Godrej Security & Solutions products have evolved over the last 125 years: Pushkar Gokhale

Godrej Security & Solutions products have evolved over the last 125 years: Pushkar Gokhale

Mumbai: The security solutions business of Godrej & Boyce, part of Godrej Enterprises Group has introduced its new ‘Khushiyon Ke Rakhwale’ campaign. The campaign highlighted the brand’s commitment to securing homes and ensuring the protection of what matters the most. With innovative and reliable home security solutions that provide peace of mind for families across India, the campaign aims to emphasise the emotional comfort that comes with knowing people’s loved ones are well-protected.

Indiantelevsion.com caught up with Godrej & Boyce EVP and business head of the security solutions business Pushkar Gokhale who gave an overall brief of the campaign and lot more!

    Edited excerpts

On the inspiration behind this campaign

In developing our campaign, we conducted research to explore the correlation between happiness and security. We aimed to determine whether such a connection exists and, if so, to what extent. This led us to survey 2,400 customers to understand this relationship, which ultimately shaped the direction of our campaign. For the past 125 years, Godrej Security & Solutions has evolved its products to enhance people’s safety and security. Discovering a link between happiness and safety inspired us to position ourselves as a brand that “secures your happiness.” This is how the seeds of our campaign were planted. Previously, we focused on “Desh ki Tijori,” and now we’re excited to launch “Khushiyon ke Rakhwale,” perfectly timed for the festive season.

    On some key features

We are continually innovating, and this campaign is no exception. Our strategy includes leveraging digital media, social media platforms, OTT channels, and television. Additionally, we plan to execute on-ground activations, taking advantage of our 5,000 retail counters nationwide to raise awareness and engage consumers through an omnichannel approach. Our e-commerce growth also supports this initiative.

On the crucial aspect of this campaign

Awareness is a crucial aspect of our campaign, especially since our research revealed a prevalent mindset among customers: “Nothing will happen to me.” We aim to educate them that security incidents can happen to anyone and emphasize the importance of preparedness. Our product range addresses security at various levels—from home entry points to the heart of the home, represented by our secure lockers. With rising jewelry and gold prices, protecting these valuable items becomes imperative; neglecting security invites potential theft.

On the growing technology incorporated in this market

We prioritize consumer research, as our customers increasingly view technology as integral to security, particularly in the banking and jewelry sectors. To meet these needs, we have enhanced our products with smart technology, incorporating artificial intelligence and IoT capabilities.

Any particular challenge for the security solutions market

One challenge we face in the home locker category is that, while we hold an 80 per cent market share, our focus should shift from simply increasing market share to expanding the market size itself. This requires increasing product adoption and building the category, as there are numerous substitutes available. Many customers still resort to hiding valuables in mattresses or temple houses—basic tactics that any burglar would recognize. We are committed to educating our customers about the importance of proper security solutions.

On future plans and other innovations

Moreover, our product development is driven by consumer research. For instance, our digital home locks have evolved from basic keypads to incorporating biometric access and multiple security features. We are also working on innovations that allow mobile phones to serve as keys, utilizing one-time passwords for added security. These technological advancements will continue to evolve as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing home security.
