    MUMBAI: As Balaji Telefilms’ Alt Digital gears up for its launch in 2017, it has roped in marketing veteran Manav Sethi as its chief marketing officer. Sethi will oversee the company’s entire communications strategy in India and will also look after its international expansion.

    Balaji Telefilms group CEO Sameer Nair said, “Manav is ideally suited to support the vision we’re working towards at ALT Balaji. We are looking forward to harnessing his experience and expertise as we launch, grow and expand our footing. Manav’s role will cover a wide array of activities including Marketing and Communications, and we look forward to his leadership in shaping our journey.”

    With over 15 years of experience nationally and globally in marketing, product, sales, strategic alliances in digital businesses, Sethi brings with him an innate understanding of the market. His expansive experience includes holding key positions at Getit Infoservices and Reliance Big Entertainment.

Manav not only comes with a vast experience in the field but also will add a new layer and dynamism to the team, we think.     In his last role at Getit he launched multiple businesses and brands in India and Malaysia across Yellowpages, Horizontal Marketplace and verticals like Grocery and Furniture, Mobile Wallet and Merchant Lending platform. At Reliance Big Entertainment, he launched India’s then largest local search business BigMaps and managed corporate strategy across the group that launched businesses across FM Radio, Music, Motion Pictures, Movie rental & download, online gaming and a JV with Dreamworks Animation SKG.

    Turner proposal for transfer of shares does not need FIPB approval

    NEW DELHI: The government has said that the proposal of Turner General Entertainment Networks India for post facto approval for transfer of one share held by resident shareholder to WoS of the foreign investor does not lie before Foreign Investments Promotion Board (FIPB) and is under automatic route.

     

    Meanwhile, Panacea Publishing, Mumbai, has got approval for 50 per cent foreign equity by Panacea Publishing International, UK, to engage in the business of print and advertising media. This involves FDI of Rs1 million.

     

    Vogel Business Media, engaged in publishing, got clearance for post facto approval for (i) induction of a new foreign investor in the approval letter to whom shares had been issued in 2011, (ii) change of name of one existing investor and (iii) induction of name of one foreign investor which was inadvertently not inserted in the approval letter. This did not involve any FDI.

     

    GETIT Infoservices, engaged in publishing, got approval for increasing foreign equity participation in its share capital from present 96.266 per cent to up to 100 per cent involving Rs 184 crore.

    Ignitee bags Getit.in’s digital biz worth Rs150 mn

    MUMBAI: Getit Infoservices has awarded its digital mandate to Ignitee Digital Solutions.

    The account size is pegged at around 150 million, the agency said in an official statement.

    The mandate includes working on targeted and comprehensive paid media exercises across search, display and mobile ensuring constant visibility of the brand on these platforms. Ignitee would also be managing the company‘s social media presence and will be building various innovative properties for the brand on various social media channels.

    Ignitee Digital Services CEO Atul Hegde said, “We are very excited to work on a brand like Getit.in. They have been pioneers in the local search space and now with the digital evolution of the brand we have some exciting plans to take the brand into the heart of the digital consumer”.

    Getit Infoservices CEO Sidharth Gupta added, “Ignitee has some very impressive work for large brands like Maruti Suzuki and Standard Chartered Bank. We are looking forward to Ignitee creating some great work for the Getit brand. We have some very aggressive and ambitious plans and I‘m sure Ignitee will partner us to achieve the same.”
