    BIC Cello appoints Manos Nikolakis as general manager

    MUMBAI: BIC Cello, India’s leading writing instruments company, announced the appointment of Manos Nikolakis as General Manager to lead its operations in India. Manos joins the BIC Cello team to drive the integrated growth strategy of the business and accelerate its development at home and abroad.

    Manos is a BIC veteran having been with the company for more than 15 years. In his previous roles he led the business growth strategies for Greece, South Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. Before relocating to India, Manos was the General Manager for the Southern, East and Central Africa region, heading four BIC subsidiaries including South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, and Zambia. In this capacity, he also set up the group’s newest subsidiary, BIC East Africa, in Kenya.

    Commenting on the new appointment, Gonzalve Bich, Chief Executive Officer, BIC said, “India is a dynamic market with a relatively young population who demand new products and solutions to fit their evolving needs.     BIC Cello recently launched its largest stationery manufacturing unit in Asia near Vapi, Gujarat. The new manufacturing unit comes as the latest addition to BIC Cello’s existing network of factories placed in Daman and one in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Renowned for its quality and innovative products, the company sells more than five million pens per day in India alone. Spread across 66 countries, BIC Cello continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the ballpoint pen segment.

    Priyanka Rishi joins Taproot India as GM

    MUMBAI: Taproot India has appointed Priyanka Rishi as its general manager. She will be reporting to CEO Umesh Shrikhande.

    With more than 16 years in the business, Rishi in her earlier journey has had long stints with Ogilvy and JWT and brings with her solid cross category experience.

    ICLP announces Mark Spicer as new General Manager, India

    MUMBAI: Global loyalty marketing and CRM specialist, ICLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Spicer as General Manager for its India operation.
     

    Based in Mumbai he will report to Dion Maritz, ICLP’s Regional Director for Middle East, Africa and India.
     

    Mark joins ICLP from Aimia in the Middle East where he managed the leading telecom loyalty programme for Mobily in Saudi Arabia. He has in excess of 20 years’ experience in the loyalty and incentives industry across all sectors with previous roles at Maritz, Grass Roots and Skybridge Group. With particular experience in the telecoms and financial services sectors he has managed and delivered programmes for clients including T-Mobile (USA), O2 (UK) and Vodafone (UK) in addition to Nectar and other pre-plastic card products.

     
    Mark will be responsible for managing existing client relationships and driving continued commercial growth in the country. The last few years has seen ICLP continue to invest in India and its comprehensive range of loyalty solutions and services will help develop the local loyalty market. ICLP provide loyalty solutions across varied sectors including Travel & Hospitality, Retail and Technology, Its client base has steadily increased to include both local and international brands such as Air India, Ethiopian Airlines and Café Coffee Day to name a few.  ICLP in India is also a regional centre of excellence across the Middle East, Europe and Africa for data analytics, insight and operational services, supporting international clients such as Hilton and Avios.

    MUMBAI: Hershey India Private Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY), today announced it will bring the iconic North American sweets brand, Jolly Rancher™, to India, underscoring the importance and strength of the growing Indian confectionery market.  India is the first international market for the Jolly Rancher brand outside of North America in the brand’s 65-year history.

    The Jolly Rancher brand is known for a unique combination of sweet and tart fruity flavours that deliver a never before taste experience to the consumer. Jolly Rancher Lollipops will be the first Jolly Rancher candy introduced in India. The lollipops offer a long lasting fruit-like taste experience that is distinct from the typical lollipop currently available in India. The lollipops will come in three flavours: Green Apple, Watermelon and Mango.  Mango was developed specifically for the India market.  The three flavours were tested with Indian consumers who gave them high scores for appeal and delivering uniquely bold, fruity flavours.

    Priced at Rs. 5 /- in India, Jolly Rancher Lollipops are immediately available in select outlets in metropolitan cities.  The company is manufacturing the product in its Chittoor plant in India.

    The launch of Jolly Rancher brand in India will contribute to The Hershey Company’s focus on global growth. The Indian confectionery market is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world with a strong double-digit annual compound growth rate of about 18 percent. 

    Jolly Rancher is one of five brands that Hershey has identified as “global brands” that will drive the company’s worldwide growth over the next several years.  It is also the first global brand from North America to launch in India. The international expansion of Jolly Rancher in India and other iconic Hershey brands around the world is an integral part of Hershey’s global growth vision to achieve $10 billion in annual revenue by 2017.

    NEW DELHI : Mr. Duncan Lawley, a distinguished name in the travel and retail domain has joined Delhi Duty Free Services as Chief Executive Officer. With an extensive knowledge of business start-ups within the travel retail industry and armed with a degree in Business Management, Lawley brings a wealth of knowledge and duty free retailing experience to support and drive DDFS growth going forward.

    Being a virtuoso in the airport retailing industry, Duncan has over 25 years of experience and has been instrumental in the development and successful implementation of several duty free ventures across the world.  Duncan comes most recently from the ARI JV at Cyprus’s Larnaka  and Pafos airports where he was General Manager.

    Prior to the Cyprus role, Duncan worked as a consultant with  WH Smith where he re-launched the brand at Copenhagen and Arlanda airports, with GVA Grimley Outlets where he oversaw the operational startup for 2 Factory Outlet Centres – Premier Outlet Centre Ringsted, Denmark and Fashion Arena Outlet Centre, Prague, CZ. Prior to these appointments Duncan enjoyed a 16 year association with the Nuance Group which culminated with him taking responsibility for the Company’s business in Denmark and Sweden as Managing Director (Scandinavia).
