    NEW DELHI: Nishant Tannwarr has been appointed general manager at TV Today, home to leading news brands like Aaj Tak and India Today. A media industry stalwart with over two decades of experience, Tannwarr brings deep expertise across regional revenue, key account management, and broadcast sales.

    Tannwarr has been with TV Today since 2022, previously serving as north head of Aaj Tak HD, where he spearheaded monetisation efforts across the premium Hindi news offering. His elevation signals the group’s intent to double down on integrated sales strategies and agency partnerships.

    Prior to joining TV Today, Tannwarr held senior sales and leadership roles at Sony Pictures Networks, where he served as region head for SAB TV, and earlier as vice president handling national revenue mandates. His media career includes stints at Star India, Zee Telefilms, Eenadu TV and Daewoo Motors—cutting his teeth across both regional and national markets.

    Known for building scalable revenue engines and high-performing sales teams, Tannwarr is expected to steer TV Today’s commercial agenda in a volatile media landscape increasingly shaped by digital shifts and advertiser fragmentation.

    Jet Airways onboards Ronit Baugh as GM & head of communications

    Mumbai: Jet Airways has appointed Ronit Baugh as the general manager and head of communications, as per Baugh’s LinkedIn update.

    “Thrilled to be joining the iconic airline at this incredibly transformative moment in its journey, and to becoming a small – and hopefully, significant – part of the first-ever airline revival story in the history of Indian aviation,” Baugh wrote in a social media post on Monday. “I look forward to the opportunity of helping write the next chapter of the brand Jet Airways story, along with all colleagues and stakeholders.”

    An alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication Pune, Baugh is a corporate and marketing communications specialist. He most recently worked with Oxford University Press as communications and public affairs lead for India. Previously, he served at Shiv Nadar University as brand and communications lead.

    His earlier professional stints also include companies like Vistara, Aircel, Star TV Network, and IndiGo.

    AVIA appoints Matthew Cheetham as GM of Coalition Against Piracy

    Mumbai: The Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) has appointed Matthew Cheetham as general manager of the Coalition Against Piracy (CAP), with immediate effect.

    In his new role, Cheetham will take over from Aaron Herps and build on the accomplishments achieved by CAP to date, with the aim of creating a stronger and healthier environment in which the video industry can prosper, said the statement.

    Over the last four years, CAP has made real inroads into the systemic problems of video piracy faced by the broadcast and streaming video industry in the Asia Pacific (APAC). “CAP is critically important to AVIA and the industry as a whole and I am delighted that in Matt we have such a seasoned and experienced executive taking over,” said AVIA CEO Louis Boswell. “Matt will bring his own ideas and energy to the role and I am confident CAP and the industry’s anti-piracy efforts will grow in strength under him.”

    Cheetham is a qualified lawyer specialising in intellectual property, more specifically copyright protection, with over 20 years of experience working in APAC for some of the largest content producers in the world. Prior to taking up his role at CAP, he was the Premier League’s head of business affairs, APAC. In this role, Cheetham opened and headed up the Premier League’s APAC office in Singapore, the Premier League’s first office outside the UK, and oversaw all enforcement, policy and outreach efforts for the Premier League in APAC.

    Prior to working for the Premier League, Cheetham spent ten years as the Motion Picture Association’s (MPA) regional legal counsel and assistant policy officer for APAC following which he was the managing director of the MPA’s New Zealand office, the New Zealand Screen Association (NZSA) that oversaw all enforcement, policy and outreach efforts for MPA member companies in New Zealand.

    Mumbai: Unilever’s executive Gaurav Jeet Singh has moved on from the FMCG major to join Facebook India as director-partnerships. At Unilever, Singh served as general manager, media- South Asia.

    “I am moving on to a new adventure after 13+ years at Unilever- years spent across sales, marketing and media. I am told that it is difficult to replicate the excitement of the first day of a new start- I have been lucky to have had many days in the last fourteen years that beat the day one at Unilever. And, that was a very high base to beat,” Singh said in a LinkedIn post shared on Friday.

    Singh is an experienced consumer marketing business leader with over 24 years of experience in building brands and businesses. He led large teams across various roles at Unilever and has experience in setting up and scaling businesses and teams from scratch. Prior to the current role, he was marketing manager- Pureit, responsible for the category P&L at Unilever.
