    Madison Media still holds the digital mandate for Airtel brand and media

    MUMBAI: Contrary to reports that appeared in the media yesterday, Madison Media continues to handle the digital mandate for Airtel brand and media. The agency however does not handle “search marketing” for airtel.in.

     

    Madison Media Group CEO Gautam Kiyawat in a statement says: “Digital is a very important element within Madison Media and our attempt has been to offer clients a holistic media strategy encompassing all media to achieve their brand’s business objectives”.

     

    Madison Media today works with many marquee clients in the digital space including Airtel, Mondelez/Cadbury, Marico, Levis, Budweiser, Asian Paints, BJP, Raymond, Yatra.com, Fiama diWills, and many other clients. The agency has a strong 60 member digital team most of them embedded in large teams that handle the media accounts of large marquee clients.

     

    Madison Media has won several awards in the digital and mobile domain with the latest one being The Festival of Media Global Award and Asia Pacific Award for Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil for convincing consumers to become the brand’s sales force leveraging the power of Mobile. The agency also won a Yahoo Big Idea Chair for its campaign on Airtel, Har ek Friend Zarori Hai.  At the Emvies Awards held last year, Madison Media also won a Gold for Best Innovation in Digital (Video) for Cadbury Celebrations – Lonely Maa.

    Raymond selects Madison to handle its Rs 100 crore AOR biz

    MUMBAI: Textile, apparel and fashion retailer Raymond‘s tag line is “the complete man.” And it was looking for the complete media agency to look after its advertising spends. And it found that it in the Sam Balsara-founded Madison Media which will now be its agency of record (AOR), following a multi-agency pitch. Madison, which bills about Rs 3,000 crore on a gross level, will be responsible for the entire media mandate, including digital and out- of-home (OOH), for all Raymond group brands.

    The Raymond AOR including its branded apparel, denim, cosmetics and toiletries, engineering tools and hardware, auto components and prophylactics businesses is estimated to be worth about Rs 100 crore annually.

  • McCain Foods appoints Madison Media as its media AoR

    MUMBAI: McCain Foods India, the Indian subsidiary of McCain Foods Canada, has appointed Madison Media as its new media Agency on Record (AoR).

    Madison Media will handle traditional media planning and buying for McCain along with the larger mandate on digital, display, social, video and mobile platforms.

  • Madison wins Ruchi Soya media biz

    MUMBAI: Madison Media has won the media account for Ruchi Soya Industries, Consumer Brands Division in Mumbai.

    Madison Media Sigma will handle traditional media planning and buying for the client with an approximate spend of Rs 300 million.

    The account was previously handled by WPP’s MEC.

  • Madison Media picks Amit Duggal as director digital

    MUMBAI: Madison Media has appointed of Amit Duggal as digital director to head its Delhi and Kolkata Digital business.

    Duggal‘s last stint was with Mindshare where he was partner invention, leading the digital practice for Pepsico.

    He will report to Madison digital head V Achuthan Kutty.

  • Madison Media is Radikal Rice’s media AoR

    MUMBAI: Madison Media has bagged the media mandate of Radikal Rice following a multi-agency pitch that saw participation of agencies like MEC, Zenith Optimedia and Carat.

    The account size is estimated to be around Rs 250 million and will be handled by Platinum Media in Delhi, Madison said.

  • Madison to handle CCD’s media account

    Mumbai: Café Coffee Day (CCD) has awarded its media mandate to Madison Media for its chain of coffee Cafés.

    The account size is estimated to be around Rs 400 million and will be handled by Madison Media Omega in Bangalore.

    The brand has just launched its first ever television commercial titled ‘Sit Down’ that has been created by Creativeland Asia.

    Mumbai: Madison Media has appointed Manish Bharil as general manager.

    Based in Bangalore, Bharil will lead the Britannia account. He will work out of Madison Media Omega office.

    Madison Media Group CEO Gautam Kiyawat said, “I am glad to have Manish join our team in Bangalore and am sure he will be able to add a lot of strategic inputs to one of our leading clients Britannia.”

    Bharil comes in with over 12 years of experience in media. He joins Madison from Mindshare Bombay where he was senior director –
    invention. He had earlier worked with Madison Bombay for seven years as deputy general manager.

    Madison Media gets Gautam Kiyawat to replace Punitha as Group CEO

    MUMBAI: Madison Media has appointed Gautam Kiyawat as CEO – Madison Media Group. He will replace Punitha Arumugam who is joining Google India.

    Kiyawat moves in from Research in Motion (Blackberry), where he was senior director – head of marketing operations, APAC region.

    Kiyawat has experience in media, marketing and communications spanning over 17 years in markets like India, South East Asia and US. A graduate from IIM Bangalore, he started his career with Procter & Gamble in India in 1995. In 2002 he moved for Phillips where he worked for two years before joining News Corp (Star TV), South East Asia. In 2009 he joined a digital creative media company named AdVerb.

    Madison World chairman and managing director Sam Balsara said, “I am delighted to have Gautam join us. His cross market experience of managing brands, media companies and a digital startup are all very relevant to the exciting future we see for Madison.     Madison alumnus D.Sriram is also joining Madison Media as a consulting director and will spend approximately one week every month advising on agency operations, and will also be available for key clients. Sriram was Madison‘s first media director in 1995. After that he has worked with DMB&B and Starcom Mediavest Group to eventually become APAC CEO for Starcom Mediavest Group. Sriram also had a stint as COO, China for Aegis Group, and for the last 18 months has been operating as an independent consultant to startup agencies and media companies across the region.

    Vijay TV to launch on Singapore’s pay TV platform Starhub

    MUMBAI: Singaporean pay-TV operator, StarHub, will launch Tamil channel, Vijay TV on StarHub Digital Cable. The channel will debut on 2 October 2006.

    The info-communication company had recently announced that it will offer five international channels free to customers of StarHub Digital Cable using the digital and Digital Video Recorder (DVR) set-top boxes, and on top of that, offer an additional Chinese entertainment channel, Star Chinese Channel, to subscribers of its Chinese Entertainment Basic Group.

    Singapore is the third market in the world, after India and the US to carry Vijay.

    StarHub’s VP cable TV services Patrick Lim says, “The beauty of cable TV is its capacity to offer a wide range of niche programming to cater to the needs of our different audience segments. StarHub Digital Cable has been the sole operator offering 24-hour Tamil programming in Singapore, and we believe the community of local Tamil viewers will certainly appreciate what VIJAY will bring to their living rooms in terms of vibrant and appealing Tamil programmes.”
