    Panvel Mumbai to get its first PVR multiplex

    Mumbai: In proximity to Mumbai, the heart of the bollywood film industry, Panvel gets its first PVR multiplex. Panvel is an important city of Raigad district (Maharashtra) and is highly populated due to its closeness to Mumbai. The diverse population of the city has created a customer base which is expanding at an exponential rate. However, the market is clearly untapped when one talks about the entertainment destinations.

    PVR, India’s largest cinema exhibition company, realizing the growing demand of a premium entertainment hub, launches its 5- screens multiplex at Orion Mall, which is also the first multi-brand mall in the city along with the multiplex. Situated in the heart of city, with ease of access from Railway Station and the ST Bus Depot, the location provides an unexplored viable catchment. With this launch, PVR’s screen count in Maharashtra reaches to 143 screens across 35 properties.

    Speaking at the launch of the cinema, PVR Cinemas CEO Mr Gautam Dutta said, “Panvel is an upcoming city of Maharashtra. It has great infrastructures, good connectivity, affordable residential apartments and an audience, who are highly inclined to watch cinema at the best state of the art facilities. We are very excited to open our first multiplex in the city and hope that our brand becomes equally popular with the people here as well.”

    The newly launched cinema has a unique and contemporary design of bollywood artwork and décor with an entrance wall of orange Italian stone portals marking the grand entry to the cinema foyer. The cinema is spread across an area of 25,292 sq ft and is capable of catering to 940 patrons.  PVR Cinemas also offer an added convenience to movie-goers with the availability of Quick – tix, a time saving technology to instant ticketing solution. This allows the patrons to enter the theatre in a quicker and more efficient manner by avoiding the long queues. To add up to the offerings, PVR is also providing recliners for extra comfort. Technology remains the most important aspect of the cinema and PVR provides an exceptional digital movie watching experience to its patrons with 7.1 Digital Dolby surround sound, 4K projection system and 2nd Generation 3D enabled screens.

    PVR expands into South India with second multiplex in Chennai

    MUMBAI: PVR Cinemas has expanded its presence in South India by launching its second multiple property in Chennai.

     

    The five-screen multiplex is at The Grand Mall, Velachery in Chennai. The company’s first multiple in Chennai is at the Ampa Mall.

     

    With this, PVR now has a a screen count of 482 screens at 108 properties pan India across 44 cities. In southern India, PVR now has 110 screens in 17 properties.

     

    The newly launched property in the region is spread over an area of 50,000 sq ft with a capacity of 1275 seats.

     

    PVR Cinema CEO Gautam Dutta said, “We have received an overwhelming response from the audience here and we ore even more enthusiastic to launch our second multiplex in Chennai. South is on essential market and we have made constant endeavours to reach out to the movie lovers in the city.     PVR opens three screen multiplex in Kolhapur

    MUMBAI: Multiplex player PVR has opened a new multiplex at DYP City Mall in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. 

     

    The three screens multiplex with a seating capacity of 726, enabled with state of art technology and 3D technology with 7.1, became operational from 22 October.

     

    With the opening of this multiplex at Kolhapur, PVR’s screen count in Maharashtra has touched 138 across 34 properties. Pan India, the multiple chain now operates 477 screens at 107 locations across 44 cities in 15 states and 1 Union Territory.

     

    PVR joint managing director Sanjeev Kumar Bijli said, “Our debut in Kolhapur is an earnest attempt to bring in the multiplex culture to the city. We want to make sure that the best in class cinematic experience is accessible to all our patrons, not only metros but to tier 2, tier 3 cities.”

    MUMBAI: With increasing digital penetration in the country, more and more companies are upping their digital game to keep abreast with the ever-changing and evolving consumer demand. Keeping that in mind, multiplex chain PVR has introduced two digital interactive platforms, which will help increase customer engagement.

     

    The two platforms – Interactive Consumer Experience (ICE) and PVR Movie Calendar – can not only connect with customers, but also take real time feedback and provide on the move information.

     

    Through the mobile based Interactive Consumer Experience, consumers can give instant feedback to PVR via SMS and USSD, a technology that allows menu based interactive communication.

     

    On the other hand, the PVR Movie Calendar will allow customers to track the movie line up at PVR for the next three months as well as enable them to set reminders for new movie releases. The PVR Movie Calendar is compatible with the iOS, Android, Windows and Mac operating systems and can also be synced with phones and gadgets.

    PVR to bring 4DX technology to India with CJ 4DPLEX

    MUMBAI: India’s largest multiplex operator PVR has inked a deal with 4D cinema company CJ 4DPLEX to bring 4DX technology to its movie theatres.

     

    PVR will launch the 4DX technology at PVR Cinemas this year at its first Superplex, a 15-screen multiplex at Logix City Centre in Noida, India. This will make the Superplex India’s most advanced cinematic viewing experience, strategically located in the heart of the city, bringing the audience world class formats including Imax, ECX, PVR Premier, PVR Gold Class, PVR 4DX and PVR Playhouse.  

     

    PVR CEO Gautam Dutta said, “We are excited about our association with CJ 4DPLEX. India is a land of cinema lovers. The country has an immense potential to both produce and consume movies in various formats. Introducing 4DX at PVR Cinemas will be another step to offer finest movie experience to our patrons here. PVR has always aimed to give the best to its audiences and we see a promising future for this technology in our country.” 

     

    CJ 4DPLEX CEO Byun Hwan Choi added, “Our partnership with PVR is a great opportunity for 4DX to accelerate expansion in the world’s largest film-producing country.     CJ 4DPLEX is also expanding its reach in Japan and has inked deals with two Japanese exhibitors. As of 31 March, it signed with Harima Enterprise to bring a 96-seat 4DX auditorium to a newly built multiplex in Himeji city, Japan. Additionally, another top-tier Japanese exhibitor is scheduled to sign in the last week of this month, becoming 4DX’s sixth partner exhibitor in Japan – the second largest number of partners in a single country thus far, behind only China. 

     

    Since its first 4D screening of Avatar in 2010, CJ 4DPLEX has brought more than 23,000 4DX seats to 170 theatres in 33 countries – opening on approximately one new screen every week as theatres recognize the power of being able to offer a wider range of formats and differentiated movie-going experiences to its patrons. In 2014 alone, 4DX launched 53 new screens compared with 47 in the previous year. Globally, 4DX has attracted more than 20 million attendees as of January 2014, and it is expected to pass 30 million by the end of 2015.

    PVR opens four-screen multiplex in Hubli

    MUMBAI: Theatre chain PVR Cinemas has opened a new four-screen multiplex in Hubli, Karnataka, taking its total screens in the state to 51 across its seven properties.

     

    The new theatre has a distinct design and is equipped with 2K digital projections, 7.1 channel sound and is 3D enabled with large screens, comfortable seating and a wide range of food and beverages.

     

    “We look forward to entertaining a wide spectrum of audiences by offering them more comfort and convenience, greater engagement and loyalty, premium sight and sound and a variety of movies with targeted programming,” said PVR CEO Gautam Dutta.

     

    PVR joint chairman-managing director Sanjeev Kumar Bijli added, “PVR taps the tier-II and tier-III cities as well and envisions providing the people of Hubli with the best.”

     

    PVR launched its multiplex in Hubli with an aim to target the twin cities of Hubli- Dharwad, which hosts over three lakh students. Moreover, the city is also emerging as an educational and industrial hub of the country.

     

    With this launch, PVR now operates 462 screens in 104 properties in 44 cities across India.

    MUMBAI: PVR Cinemas, the largest cinema exhibition company in India has further strengthened its national presence with the launch of its 2-screen multiplex in Milap Mall, Kandivali (West) with a seating capacity of 325. Opening with 100% occupancy for the blockbuster film Dhoom 3, PVR Milap commences its journey on a buoyant note. PVR Cinemas recently surpassed the milestone of 400 screens and with the newly opened multiplex it reaches a count of 94 cinemas, 404 screens and 38 cities in India.

    PVR opens its third multiplex in Kolkata

    PVR Cinemas launched its third multiplex in Kolkata, spread across an area of 42,000 square feet (sqft) with a total capacity of 1,146 seats on Friday. The five-screen multiplex at Diamond Mall, Jassore Road, is likely to give an overwhelming response to the company.

     

    With this property, the cinema exhibition company has reached a screen count of 13 screens at three different locales of the Kolkata city, with its existing ones at Avani Mall, Diamond Mall and Mani Square.

     

    The opening of the latest multiplex has increased the total screen count of PVR to 398 screens in 92 cinemas in 37 cities across India.

     

    “PVR has spread its presence at three different locations in the city for easy accessibility by the movie goers.” said PVR chief operating officer Gautam Dutta.

     

    It is learnt that the multiplex also boasts of 2K ‘Christie’ digital projection, 7.1 surround sound, 3D enabled screens and three-way JBL speakers in order to offer an unmatched movie experience to the movie lovers of the city.
