    Yours Truly on Romedy NOW with Alia & Gauri gets under way

    MUMBAI: Latest Bollywood sensation, Alia Bhatt and English Vinglish fame director, Gauri Shinde get up close and personal with Romedy NOW on its’ first-of-its-kind property ‘Yours Truly’. Viewers of Romedy NOW, a premium English entertainment channel, will now get a chance to get a sneak peek into the deep held feelings of these stars on love, life, happiness, friendships, relationships, destiny and imperfections of life.

    These exclusive videos of conversations between Alia Bhatt and Gauri Shinde are set to go on air from Monday, 14 November, and will be aired throughout the day in intervals for the entire month of November. ‘Yours Truly’ will be a part of a larger property on Romedy NOW called, ‘Life Happens’, a movie festival that will feature movies that connect to the theme of Dear Zindagi.

    Director Gauri Shinde said, “Life in general is complicated, it’s never simple and hence it should be about enjoying these little things. There couldn’t have been a better platform for us which is so similar to the theme of our movie and we look forward to engaging with maximum audience through ‘Yours Truly’.”

    Dear Zindagi has the unusual but crackling pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt on screen with director Gauri Shinde of English Vinglish joining hands with Gauri Khan and Karan Johar under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions, and Hope Productions. The film has all the ingredients of a blockbuster.

    The line-up in Life Happens includes movies that are romantic comedies and are both popular and critically acclaimed. Begin Again, which is a one of the line-ups, is a film about a beautiful collaboration of two budding talents in music, with an IMDB rating of over seven and will air on Saturday, 19 November at 9pm.

    Shah Rukh Khan & Alia Bhatt to star in Gauri Shinde’s next

    MUMBAI: The English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde is gearing up for her next film, which will star Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt.

     

    The film will be produced jointly by Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions along with Hope Productions.

     

    Johar took to the micro blogging site Twitter to make the announcement. 

     

    Shinde also tweeted saying, “Yes I am making my next film:)script done…well almost…going on the floors soon.looking forward to be back in action.”

     

    Bhatt’s tweet read, “Will no longer have any problem with my English Vinglish.. can’t wait to be directed by Gauri Shinde  with the man himself Shahrukh Khan!!!”

     

    This will be the first time that Khan and Bhatt will share screen space together in a movie.

     

    Shinde’s debut movie English Vinglish, which was also the comeback vehicle for actress Sri Devi, received acclaim galore. For the uninitiated, Shinde is also the wife of adman R Balki.

    MUMBAI: A special screening of the award winning Marathi film Tapaal was organised recently and attended by Bollywood veterans like Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, director Imtiaz Ali, R Balki, Gauri Shinde and Niranjan Iyengar along with the cast and crew of the film.

     

    Appreciating the movie, Sridevi commented on a micro-blogging saying, “Just watched Marathi film ‘Tapal’. After a long time, was teary-eyed & emotionally choked. A must watch film for all.”

     

     “Laxman who also was the DoP of English Vinglish has done a commendable job in his first film as director & has packed some memorable moments in Tapal,” she added.

     

    Produced by Maitreya Mass Media and distributed by Pickle Entertainment, starring Nandu Madhav, Veena Jamkar, Milind Gunaji, Urmila Kanetkar and introducing Rohit Utekar, ‘Tapaal’ is all set to release on 26 September 2014.

     

    Tapaal is National & International Award winning Marathi film is set in a small village in the year 1977. It dwells with sympathy, concern and understanding on the bond between a little boy and a childless couple, and the social discrimination that they face.

     

    Even before its release, Laxman Utekar’s directorial debut is creating the right buzz. It has been critically acclaimed and has even won various accolades & awards at different film festivals for its sterling performances.

     

    Tapaal had its World Premiere at 18th Busan International Film Festival 2013, South Korea. It was also selected for the Indian Panorama Section at 44th IFFI (International Film festival 2013). Veena Jamkar bagged the best actress award at South Africa Film Festival. While Rohit Utekar won Best Child Actor Award, Prakash Holkar got the best lyricist award for his emotional composition ‘don disanchi sawali ‘ at the Maharashtra state film Awards.
