    Discovery India launches travelogue promoting Uttar Pradesh

    Mumbai: Discovery Communications India, in association with the Uttar Pradesh government, is all set to launch an exclusive travelogue “Heritage Trails, One District, One Product.” 

    Releasing on Discovery channel and discovery+ on 25 September, the documentary highlights the states’ rich culture, diversity, and the plan to ensure livelihood to the MSME sectors and accelerate economic development under ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) – a vital scheme set up by the government to preserve the indigenous crafts and artisans and boost the MSME economy.

    “When we speak of culture and legacy, the one word that comes to mind is India. Being a diverse and secular country, every part of India including Uttar Pradesh oozes tradition in numerous forms and it is important to protect it in every way possible,” said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. “Our association with the Discovery for ODOP initiative is a step towards spreading awareness, protecting, and propagating the rich heritage of our country and generating self-employment.”

    The documentary is hosted by popular TV actor Gaurav Chopra who takes the audience to cities like Agra and Varanasi and gives them an immersive experience as he learns about and makes the products with the local artisans, and understands how these crafts are related to their livelihood and welfare. The documentary will reveal the true indigenous side of Uttar Pradesh while elaborating on the government’s efforts to promote and rescale its local crafts and products that give the state its identity. It also highlights crafts like Gulabi Meenakari and Marble Inlay work that is exclusive to the state.

    Asianet starts airing popular serials

    MUMBAI: Prominent GEC in Kerala Asianet is back with some exciting entertainment for the audience. TV shoots which were stalled due to the Covid2019 outbreak have resumed following the guidelines issued by the government.

    The GEC has started airing a few episodes in the content bank and the newly shot episodes from 1 June. Popular shows Maunaragam and Kudumbavilakku will go on air from 15 June.

    The channel will also telecast popular series Kannante Radha at 5.30 pm, Sanjeevani at 6 pm, Vanambadi at 7 pm, Pournamithingal at 7.30 pm, Seethakalyanam at 8 pm and Kasturiman at 8.30 pm.  

    Sanjivani is one of the popular medical dramas which portrays the lives of a group of doctors. The show has Surbhi Chandna, Namit Khanna, Mohnish Bahl, Gurdeep Kohli and Gaurav Chopra in the main roles.

    Bollywood to get ‘Transformed’

    MUMBAI: Touted to be the year’s most awaited, high octane action film, Transformers – Age of Extinction is the fourth edition of the epic Transformers franchise. With an ever growing fan base, this Hollywood flick seems to have transformed B–town celebs who attended the industry screening on Monday night at PVR Cinemas in Juhu.

     

    Celebrities that graced the occasion were Darsheel Safary, Resul Pookutty, Gaurav Chopra, Siddharth Shukla, Manish Paul, Salman, Lauren, Rithvik Dhanjani, Smita Bansal and Vishal Malhotra. MTV’s Ranvijay an ardent Transformers fan turned up in a super-cool Transformers belt and specially designed Transformers watch.

     

    The current movie will witness an all new star cast and a new twist. Directed by the maverick Michael Bay, the film includes a star studded cast with superstar Mark Wahlberg playing Cade Yeager, a single father who will go to any extremes for his daughter Tessa, played by Nicola Peltz and her handsome boyfriend Shane played by Jack Steynor.

     

    The film also introduces a series of new elements like the Dinobots, the dangerous intergalactic bounty hunter-Lockdown and the revival of the fire breathing T-Rex Grimlock.

     

    The returning Transformers include the courageous warrior and leader of the Autobots – Optimus Prime, the much loved Bumblebee who takes the most risks and will be seen in a new avatar and Drift, an Autobot tactician and a former Decepticon amongst others.

     

    Another first in the series, are human made transformers that join the evil forces of the Decepticons. Galvatron is a human-made Transformer who becomes the Decepticon overlord while Stinger becomes a Decepticon spy and sabotage specialist. The Army of the Dinobots is yet another challenge that Optimus Prime will have to overcome in this epic battle.

     

    Shot in 3D technology, Transformers – Age of Extinction is a spectacular cinematic experience in Dolby Atmos. Embellished with breathtaking VFX, it is also partly shot in IMAX.

    Colors associates with Lakme Fashion Week; to air the event from 1 Aprila

    Mumbai: Colors has announced its association with India’s premier fashion and trade event, Lakme Fashion Week (LFW).

     

    Titled ‘Lakme Fashion Week – Colors Ka Jashn’, the channel will air the event from 1-5 April at the afternoon time-slot of 3 pm.

     

    Taking fashion to the viewers, this season of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 will have artists from Colors’ popular shows in a whole new designer avatar.

     

    The show will be hosted by Rohit Roy.

     

    Presenting a blend of style and drama a la Colors style, the channel will showcase all the behind the scenes action from the fashion week in a half an hour special episode. Colors’ artists like Shamim Manan (Bhoomi), Gaurav Chopra (Rathore), newcomers in the Colors family such as Shefali Sharma (Gurbani), Toral Rashputra (Anandi) and Aakansha Singh (Megha) will be seen in a new avatar as they prepare to charm the audiences.

     

    This special association will see Colors’ artists interacting with the top notch designers of the country.

    Bindass to telecast ‘Big Switch Season 4’ from 13 January

    MUMBAI: Youth entertainment channel Bindass is bringing back its popular property ‘Big Switch‘.


    The fourth season of the reality show will launch on 13 January. The airing time of the reality show, however, has yet not been finalised.


    Big Switch Season 4 will be hosted by actor Gaurav Chopra.


    The show will see participation of a certain number of youngsters who get a chance to reform themselves and make themselves worthy of the luxuries without their parents‘ money.


    The contestants would have to survive in a house and be responsible for working and earning a living by doing various tasks.


    The channel is expected to bring some changes in the format to make it tougher for the contestants.
