    Zee Media’s consolidated revenue up 33.6 percent at Rs 866.86 crore for FY22

    Mumbai: Zee Media Corporation has announced its fourth quarter and yearly results for the financial year ended 31 March 2022. The company reported audited consolidated revenues of Rs 866.86 crore for FY 2022 as compared to FY 2021, which was at Rs 649.07 crore. The company witnessed 33.6 percent growth during the same period.

    The network incurred expenditure of Rs 613.2 crore and its operating revenue stood at Rs 247.73 crore up by 35.4 per cent as compared to the corresponding quarter FY 2021. The company’s operating expenditure stood at Rs 189.13 crore up by 54.1 per cent year-on-year (YoY). The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBIDTA) stood at Rs 58.60 crore during the Q4 FY 2022.

    The company’s advertising revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 237.1 crore up by 39.4 per cent and subscription revenue stood at Rs 9.2 crore. Its advertising revenue for the year stood at Rs 822.6 crore up by 36.4 per cent and subscription revenue stood at Rs 38.49 crore.

    After including exceptional items, Zee Media reported loss of Rs 51.45 crore for the quarter and consolidated loss of Rs 117.72 crore for the year ended 31 March 2022.

    Zee Media operates 14 TV news channels including four national, nine regional languages and one global. It also operates four digital channels and 17 digital properties.

    Mumbai: Balaji Telefilms announced its third quarter financial results for FY 2022. The company’s quarterly income from operations at the end of 31 December 2021 stood at Rs 76.2 crore. It posted a net loss after tax of Rs 26.4 crore for the quarter.

    The company reported that total subscriptions sold for their OTT platform ALTBalaji for the third quarter year-to-date FY22 stood at 3.48 million. The direct subscription revenue was recorded at Rs 45 crore.

    Engagement time on the video-on-demand platform was recorded at 82 minutes with a watch time of 15.45 billion in minutes. Till date, cumulative video views on the platform stands at 1.26 billion.

     ALTBalaji added 11 shows in the nine months and has taken the overall library to 89+ shows.

    The company said its TV business continued normal in the past nine months with 618 hours of production across seven shows and a strong pipeline for the year. “Three new shows have been lined up and should commence shortly,” said the company statement.

    The company also has five film projects in the pipeline. “Movie business resumed production and the company made good progress,” said the company adding that it continues to wait for availability for theatrical launch windows and looking at deals across direct to digital as well. As part of its strategy it continues to control investments in movies and pursue pre-sales and co-production deals where feasible.

    “ALTBalaji continues to drive subscription growth and we added 3.48 million subscriptions during the nine months,” said Balaji Telefilms managing director Shobha Kapoor. “We added 11 shows in the nine months and now have a solid line up for the rest of the year. Our strategic content sharing deals will ensure we control on the cash spend while driving overall profitability. Our TV business has shown good recovery in terms of production hours and we hope to improve this momentum as three new shows will commence. In the movie business, production for some exciting projects is at various stages of completion. We closely monitor the availability of theatrical releases and direct to digital launches. Overall, the year has been good and expected to continue the momentum.”

    Sun TV Network reports 9.59 per cent growth in Q2 FY22

    Mumbai: Sun TV Network has released its results for the financial quarter ended on 30 September. The media company has reported revenue collection of Rs 828.67 crore up by ~9.59 per cent compared to the corresponding quarter in 2020. 

    The company’s advertising revenue increased by ~39.84 per cent to reach Rs 341.77 crore. It reported profit after tax of Rs 393.32 crore up by 13.71 per cent. EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 520.58 crore as against Rs 502.03 crore in the corresponding quarter in 2020.  

    Sun TV Network is one of the largest TV broadcasters in India and operates channels in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla and Marathi, airs FM radio stations across India and owns the Sunrisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise of the Indian Premier League.
