    Flipkart launches ‘InvoiSIS’

    MUMBAI: Rakshabandhan has always been a high-activity moment in Indian e-commerce, but over the years, the space has become crowded and undifferentiated. Most brands compete on price, speed, and generic gifting assortments. Flipkart wanted to shift the focus from discounts to what really matters – the bond between siblings.

    The idea was rooted in a simple truth that sisters do a lot for their brothers; things that often go unnoticed or unacknowledged. So this year, Flipkart launched InvoiSIS, the world’s first Rakhi invoice generator. A light-hearted, yet functional tool that lets sisters raise itemised invoices for all the favours they’ve done, from sharing their fancy skincare to saving their brothers from family drama.

    Each favour came with a certified value, calculated in collaboration with finance educator and sister CA Rachana Ranade. Sisters could then attach a Flipkart wishlist that matched their invoice total, turning emotional dues into a real-time, shoppable bill.

    At the centre of the campaign was a microsite, www.invoisis4rakhi.com, designed like an old-school Indian invoice pad in pastel colours. The flow was kept simple and inclusive. To launch it, a fun digital film featuring CA Rachana walked audiences through the idea in her signature lecture style, complete with charts, data, and a direct call to action.

    The campaign conceptualised by the DDB Mudra Group was extended through culturally relevant content, including fictional invoices for iconic sibling duos like Monica & Ross and Aisha & Kabir, meme formats, and influencer engagement, all built for sharing, not scrolling. With minimal media spend and maximum relatability, InvoiSIS encouraged more thoughtful, higher-value gifting across tech, fashion, grooming, and wearables.

    Flipkart VP – growth and marketing, Pratik Shetty said, “Rakhi is an emotionally rich moment, and we saw an opportunity to move beyond transactional gifting. With InvoiSIS, we wanted to create something sisters could truly relate to, something fun and rooted in their everyday reality. It’s not just about the product value, it’s about making that bond feel seen and celebrated.”

    DDB Mudra group creative directors, Gagandeep Bindra and Rahul Arcot added, “How much should you really spend on a Rakhi gift? We figured it should at least match the value of everything sisters do for us. So we teamed up with financial expert Rachana Ranade and put a price on all sisterly favors, letting sisters raise an invoice for what she is owed, and demand a fair gift in return.”

     MUMBAI: Phones usually dread the drizzle this one does a dance in it. With the monsoon in full swing, SW Network and Flipkart have tapped into a universal fear wet phones and flipped it on its head with the launch campaign for the Moto G96, a smartphone that’s not just water-resistant, but water-embracing. Armed with an IP68 rating and a Watertouch Display that works flawlessly even when soaked, the G96 became the centrepiece of a cheeky, insight-rich campaign titled “Always a Water Baby.” The phone’s monsoon-proof credentials became an open invitation to throw away the plastic bags and rice bowls and say goodbye to panic-mode hairdryers.

    The outdoor campaign went bold and witty hoardings dismissed old-school hacks with lines like “You don’t need these anymore.” In one standout execution, the agency installed a monsoon shelter with the tagline: “While other phones run for cover, I’d stand in the rain for you.” Subtle, it was not but the point was made loud and clear.

    Print creatives took gentle digs at waterproof phone pouches still clinging to relevance, while a quirky double-hoarding visual metaphor featured the Moto G96 as “a great catch”  literally caught between two billboards.

    “Moto G96 doesn’t just survive water, it loves it,” said SW Network co-founder Raghav Bagai. “We wanted the campaign to be playful, visual and instantly relatable. ‘Water Baby’ gave us the perfect language to celebrate this feature without falling into the spec-sheet trap.”

    Instead of leaning on technical jargon, the campaign found humour in a shared everyday pain phones and puddles are usually a nightmare pairing. But not this time.

    With the G96, SW Network shows once again it knows how to turn product truth into pop culture, proving that even in tech advertising, a little splash of humanity goes a long way.

    The post quickly went viral, racking up laughs and likes and once again proving Flipkart’s mastery at marketing mischief.

    MUMBAI: Bengaluru-based logistics firm Shadowfax Technologies Ltd has filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) through the confidential route, signalling its plans to go public. The move comes roughly three months after the company transitioned into a public entity.

    Shadowfax is aiming to raise between Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore through the initial public offering, which will comprise a fresh issue of shares and an offer for sale (OFS) by existing investors. Key backers including Flipkart, Eight Roads Ventures, and NGP Capital are expected to dilute part of their holdings through the OFS component.

    ICICI Securities, JM Financial, and Morgan Stanley are acting as lead advisors to the issue. The company is targeting a post-listing valuation in the range of Rs 5,500–6,000 crore, according to individuals familiar with the development. As per TheKredible, Shadowfax was last valued at approximately Rs 5,981 crore ($712 million) during the first tranche of its Series F funding round earlier this year.

    Founded in 2015 by Abhishek Bansal, Vaibhav Khandelwal, Praharsh Chandra, and Gaurav Jaithliya, Shadowfax operates in the last-mile logistics segment, serving e-commerce and hyperlocal categories such as grocery, food, and pharmaceuticals. The company claims a network of over 1.25 lakh monthly active delivery partners across India.

    To date, Shadowfax has raised around $246 million in equity funding. Eight Roads Ventures remains the largest external investor, followed by Flipkart, NewQuest Asia, and Nokia Growth Partners.

    Financially, the company reported revenues of Rs 1,885 crore in FY24, marking a 33.2 per cent year-on-year growth. It also significantly narrowed losses—from Rs 142 crore in FY23 to Rs 11.8 crore in FY24, representing a 91 per cent reduction.

    Shadowfax now joins a growing list of Indian startups eyeing public listings. Recent confidential DRHP filers include PhysicsWallah, boAt, Urban Company, Shiprocket, Groww, Pine Labs, Capillary Technologies, Wakefit, and Curefoods, underlining a renewed momentum in India’s startup IPO pipeline.

    In its regulatory filing with the NSE and BSE, Honasa underscored its intent to reinforce business scale, growth strategies, and sustainable momentum through Bhargava’s expertise. “Yatish has led category transformation, built scalable go-to-market strategies and driven sustained growth across diverse consumer businesses”, the company noted in its official statement.

    An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, Bhargava will be tasked with building on Honasa’s already expansive omnichannel approach while navigating the highly competitive D2C landscape.

At its Goa Fest 2025 masterclass, the e-commerce giant rolled out a full-funnel manifesto for how brands can advertise smarter, sell faster and even deliver anti-love chocolates in 10 minutes flat. Packed with metrics, media strategy, and a sprinkling of Valentine’s wit, the session was a whirlwind tour of how retail media is no longer just about deals but about data, delight and deep hyperlocal targeting.

    At the Flipkart masterclass held at Goa Fest 2025, the brand flipped the script on what e-commerce advertising can do showcasing how its ecosystem is now a robust, intelligent ad-tech playground for everyone from FMCG giants to rural D2C sellers.

    Launched as Flipkart’s quick commerce vertical, Flipkart Minutes is not just delivering tomatoes in 10 minutes, it’s shipping electronics. Over 25–28 per cent of all orders now include phones and gadgets, especially in Tier 2 India, where users increasingly need a “Pogo phone” faster than their Wi-Fi can buffer.

    Flipkart’s anecdotal evidence packs punch. Coke targeted party hours before New Year’s by finding users buying Lays and Chakna—not soda. Cadbury ran two opposing Valentine’s Day campaigns, pro-love for Silk, anti-love for Gems and saw their sales shoot up 42% over last year’s campaign.

    With Big Billion Day on the horizon, Flipkart is focusing on customer loyalty targeting, allowing brands to reach habitual discount-hunters during specific periods.

    Their ambitious roadmap includes pushing retail media as a top-funnel tool too. It’s no longer just a performance play. Retail media is now about brand discovery, contextual engagement, and creative risk-taking without betting the whole national ad budget.

    From smart shopping insights to delivering slow-mo smartphones faster than you can say “Galaxy S24 FE,” Flipkart’s masterclass proved one thing: retail media isn’t just booming, it’s blooming.
