BTVI (Business Television India) – India’s premiere English business news channel took its pioneering show The MF Guide on ground on Tuesday, 25th September’ 18 in Mumbai.
The show completed 100 episodes and to mark this milestone, the channel invited its audiences to be a part of the show by inviting them for an on-ground interactive session where fund managers and industry experts shared insights which would help the audience in successful wealth management.
The event kick started with a talk by Ashutosh Bishnoi, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Mutual Fund.
This was followed by a panel discussion on setting goals and achieving them through different mutual fund investment strategy. The panel had V. Balasubramanian, Chief Equity Strategist, Mahindra Mutual Fund, Hemant Rustagi, Chief Executive Officer, Wiseinvest Advisors, Suresh Sadagopan, Founder, Ladder7 Financial Advisories, Pooja Bhinde, CFP, PB Investments as panelists and it was moderated by Mr. Muralidhar Swaminathan, Channel Director- BTVI.
The session was informative and threw light on the current market situation along with sharing insights on how to invest in mutual funds and how to manage expectations and risks involved in investing. The on-ground show was to encourage Indian investors to SAVE, INVEST AND PROSPER which is part of channel’s credo.

Suzuki Motorcycle to spend around Rs 40 crore on Gixxer campaign
BENGALURU: Suzuki Motorcycles India Private Limited (SMIPL) announced the launch of its flagship 155cc bike Gixxer in Bengaluru.
SMIPL executive VP Atul Gupta said, “Loaded with exciting equipment, power, handling and trusted Suzuki quality, the Gixxer will make a statement without saying a word. It is an overall mix of elegant styling, classy on-road presence and promising performance, and will attract young bikers to rev up and ride. We expect Gixxer to create a strong foothold for itself in the market.”
He added, “Suzuki is keen on providing youth-centric products for the Indian customers at a very competitive price. Our track record of new launches iterates Suzuki’s legacy built on the ethos of credibility along with advanced, unmatched engineering. In tune with its endeavours to reach out to maximum potential buyers the motorcycle major is also coming up with a marketing campaign featuring the actor-endorser Salman Khan.”
The first phase of its TVC campaign has already begun, and will run until post the festival season. A TVC featuring the company’s brand ambassador Khan has been created by Hakuhodo Percept for Gixxer.
Industry sources reveal that the company will spend around 30-40 per cent of it’s approximately Rs 100 crore advertisement budget for FY-22015 on Gixxer.
“The company is targeting the 18-25 age group male, and apart from Colors TV channel in the HSM and the leading GECs in each of the regional markets, the Gixxer campaign will be aired on sports, lifestyle, music and niche channels,” said SMIPL national head of marketing Anu Anamika. Besides television, SMIPL is betting big on digital as well as print.
“We’d said that we would launch four products this year, Gixxer is the fourth one. Post Diwali we plan to launch a brand campaign. Our previous campaign had our brand ambassador Parineeti Chopra for our scooter Let’s,” added Anamika.

Nokia launches flagship Lumia 1520 in India; campaign in the offing
BENGALURU: Nokia India (Nokia) announced the all India launch from the NCR region and Bengaluru of its new flagship Windows operated smart phone – the Nokia Lumia 1510 yesterday. The company has already launched this phone along with the Lumia 1320 in other markets a while ago. Plans are afoot to launch the Lumia 1320 in India also shortly.
Nokia has had an aggressive campaign for its Lumia and Asha series of phones across multimedia including television in the country. A campaign for the Lumia 1520 is being planned by Nokia India along with its creative agency JWT revealed Nokia India Sales director of south markets T S Sridhar to www.indiantelevision.com.
Nokia’s mass communication message is likely to focus on three key attributes of the Lumia 1520 – it’s the first six inch screen smart phone from the Nokia stable, the 20 MP PureView camera with RAW capability and optical image stabilisation and the phone’s long battery life with a 3400 mAh battery revealed Sridhar further.
Nokia India, Middle East and Africa Director – Smart Phone Devices Vipul Mehrotra, said, “Large screens are increasingly becoming popular among smart phone users and imaging is one of the key factors that define a good smart phone. With the Nokia Lumia 1520, we have boosted the Lumia design to a large six-inch screen, with the clearest and sharpest display offering people a better way to tell their stories.”

Zee Cafe to exclusively broadcast Miss World in India for the sixth year in a row
MUMBAI: The English general entertainment channel from the Zee stable, Zee Cafe will yet again showcase Miss World 2013 Live, as stunning women from across the globe fight it out at Indonesia for the esteemed title.
Zee Cafe will exclusively telecast Miss World 2013 Live in India on 28 September in the early hours at 5:00 am with a repeat telecast at 7:30 pm on the same night. Miss World will additionally be simulcast on Zee Studio. India’s very own Miss India World Navneet Kaur Dhillon will by vying for the crown with the most beautiful women for the title of Miss World 2013.
“I was a child, and when Aishwarya Rai won miss world – my father was watching that show on TV and he said when my daughter grows up she will become miss world. So after that whenever anyone asked me about what I wanted to be I always said ‘I want to become Miss World when I grow up!” said a very excited and nervous Navneet who will represent India at the pageant on Saturday.
The Miss World pageant is the oldest surviving major international beauty pageant. The dazzling contestants from all across the globe compete for a month in a series of events including top model and beach fashion before the winner is crowned on the day of the grand finale. The winner spends a year travelling to represent the Miss World Organisation and its various causes. The Miss World Organisation owns and manages the annual Miss World Finals; a competition that has grown into one of the world’s biggest.

Nachiket Pantvaidya goes back home to Sony
MUMBAI: It’s like a homecoming of sorts for senior television professional Nachiket Pantvaidya. Pantvaidya has reportedly put in his papers at Star India and will be joining Mulitscreen Media (Sony Entertaintment). He will be taking charge as the business head of the MSM Motion Pictures, which is a division of MSM. A formal announcement is expected next week sometime.
MSM Motion Pictures has a slew of films planned under its banner over the next two years. Among these: Bajate Raho (already released) and Mango among others are lined up for release.
Nachiket Pantvaidya will head the motion pictures division of MSMLast year, Star India had elevated Pantvaidya to head its flagship Hindi general entertainment channel Star Plus as its general manager. Prior to this, Pantvaidya was heading Star India’s Marathi GEC Star Pravah.
Pantvaidya had joined Star Group in November 2009 as MD of Fox Television Studios India. Later he was moved to Star Pravah as EVP and GM.
Prior to that, Pantvaidya has worked with Balaji Telefilms, BBC Worldwide, Disney and Sony Entertainment (now Multi Screen Media).
