AI storm brews as Studio Blo films fashion in a whole new dimension

MUMBAI: When fashion meets philosophy in the middle of a sandstorm, you know something otherworldly is at play. Studio Blo, the next-gen content studio pushing the limits of AI-driven filmmaking, has dropped a 100 per cent AI-generated film for the Almost Gods × Fila collection blurring lines between fantasy, sport, and storytelling.

The high-concept short, live on Youtube and Instagram, unfolds during a rare celestial event where three cloaked figures summon a sweeping sandstorm. Each figure wears pieces from the new collection, which reimagines Fila’s clay-court tennis heritage through Almost Gods’ brutalist aesthetic, laced with mysticism and elemental power.

In a striking industry first, real fashion models were digitally cloned, with every garment and accessory rendered entirely in AI, no physical shoot, no stitched seams, just crafted pixels with the gravitas of a full-scale cinematic production. Months of prep went into the project, with seasoned cinematographers, creative directors, and AI artists at the helm.

Studio Blo co-founder & CEO Dipankar Mukherjee set the record straight: “AI films aren’t quick and cheap. This took months, not minutes, because pedigree demands time, talent, and vision. Almost Gods treated us as true creative partners, and that made all the difference.”

Studio Blo Co-Founder & CCO Rishabh Suri added: “AI gave us the canvas to make a metaphysical thriller in fashion form. Traditional production would’ve struggled with the sheer scale and spectacle. Here, we created something immersive and emotionally resonant, where philosophy and symbolism flow seamlessly into couture.”

Studio Blo, staffed by veterans from VFX giants like Dneg and MPC, has already delivered showstoppers for Warner Music, YRF Films, Dentsu, and Nykaa. This film cements its mission: AI is not a shortcut, but a collaborator expanding fashion’s stage into realms once thought impossible.

With the Almost Gods × Fila collection, sport-luxury isn’t just walking the runway; it’s conjuring storms.

The EBITDA margin stood at 32.6 per cent  with a profit after tax (PAT) margin of 13.7  per cent. During the quarter, Metro Brands expanded its retail presence with the launch of its first Foot Locker store and a new kiosk for New Era, catering to an increasingly diverse customer base. The company also enlisted celebrities Triptii Dimri and Vijay Varma for its Metro Shoes line, alongside Shanaya Kapoor and Vedang Raina for Mochi, which bolstered brand visibility and contributed to growth.

Metro Brands liquidated its old Fila inventory during this period and is set to release a second drop of India-manufactured merchandise by mid-February 2025.

Over the nine months ended  31 December 2024, the company opened 61 new stores while closing four bringing total net new openings below the initial guidance of 100 for the year. However, the company remains committed to its overall target of establishing 225 new stores by FY 2026.

Hailey Bieber named FILA global brand ambassador

Mumbai: FILA has tapped Hailey Bieber as its new global brand ambassador. The model and entrepreneur first debuted in a FILA campaign in the fall of 2022. With this new multi-year partnership, Bieber will collaborate with FILA to design signature sportswear collections, with the first drop slated to launch in fall/winter 2024.

FILA built its legacy championing individuals who make their mark in sport, fashion, culture and beyond. Hailey has quickly cemented herself as a style icon and continues to provide her own unique interpretation of the brand’s most classic designs.

“I am grateful to expand my role with FILA, a brand that has always stood out for its quality, elegance and bold and beautiful designs,” says Hailey Bieber. “I appreciate the brand’s Italian heritage and the eras of FILA fashion where I can continue to draw inspiration. I am excited to bring my own point of view to FILA’s iconic styles, as we work to create something special together.”

FILA is also releasing a new campaign where Bieber is joined by sponsored tennis player Reilly Opelka, as the company celebrates the 50th anniversary of its iconic F-Box logo. Introduced in 1973, when FILA first brought color to the tennis court, the logo is a symbol of FILA’s influence in sport and style and the legendary individuals who have represented the brand. As an athlete who pursues his passions in art and fashion off the court, Reilly transcends the game and embodies the brand’s spirit of boldness and creativity.
