    Colors Tamil to air new show Kanda Naal Mudhal on 13 June

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil has launched a new show Kanda Naal Mudhal that will premiere on 13 June. The show will air every Monday to Friday at 8:30 p.m.

    The show narrates the life of Kumaran played by actor Navin who crosses paths with Nandhini played by actor Dharshana and in a cruel twist of fate ends up marrying her despite being at loggerheads.

    Zee TV to air new show ‘Mithai’ on 4 April

    Mumbai: Zee TV is set to telecast a new fiction show “Mithai” starting 4 April at 7 p.m, every Monday to Saturday. Produced by Arvind Babbal Productions, the show is set against the backdrop of Mathura.

    The lead role is played by actor Debatamma Saha, who essays the titular character. The male lead opposite her is actor Aashish Bhardhwaj. The show will take viewers into the by-lanes of small town named Jatipura, where barely four shops exist today that prepare a unique traditional sweet called ‘Aloo Jalebi’ which is served as the ‘Mahaprasad’ at the Mukharvindh Temple. “The show is an amalgamation of a love story and a family drama tied together inside a box of traditional Indian sweets,” said the statement. 

    The title track of the show is sung by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant Sanjana Bhat.

    “With ‘Mithai’ we want to infuse our early primetime with the positivity of this vivacious girl from Jatipura who wants to spread smiles with her late father’s unique traditional recipe of Aloo Jalebis,” said Zee TV business head Aparna Bhosle. “Her journey of building a relationship with her husband who deeply resents the very concept of sweets will be an intriguing story for the audiences to follow. We have shot extensively in Mathura to capture the true cultural essence and the authentic backdrop of our narrative. We look forward to yet another successful collaboration with writer-producer Arvind Babbal with the show.”

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil is set to premiere a new fiction show “Meera” on 28 March starting at 9:30 p.m, every Monday to Friday.

    Directed by Jawahar and screenplay by Devi Bala, the show portrays the essence of a woman discovering her self-worth as she goes through trials and tribulations in her life, said the channel in a statement.

    “I am delighted to helm Meera, especially with a phenomenal actor like Khushbu in the lead,” said director Jawahar. “The rest of the cast is also supremely talented. Further, executing the story written by Khushbu is a joy altogether. With Meera, we are attempting to showcase a powerful facet of a woman who is bold, courageous and chooses her self-respect over everything else. The idea is to create a positive influence on audiences and to encourage women to value themselves and prioritise their dreams and aspirations.     The show features actors Khushbu and Suresh Chandra Menon in the lead roles, alongside Pooja Lokesh, Shalini, Shanthi Williams, Sai Krishna and Pasi Sathya in supporting roles.

    Mumbai: In a bid to strengthen its programming lineup, Hindi GEC Colors is set to launch new romantic drama “Spy Bahu” on 14 March at 9 p.m. Produced by Ashvini Yardi’s Vinyard Films, the show features Sana Sayyad and Sehban Azim in the lead.

    “Colors has always believed in curating differentiated and relatable content for the viewers. Having recently launched a variety of unique fiction offerings like ‘Naagin 6,’ ‘Parineetii,’ and ‘Swaran Ghar,’ we are thrilled to add to our robust lineup, a new romantic drama, ‘Spy Bahu,’” said Viacom18 head Hindi mass entertainment and kids TV network Nina Elavia Jaipuria. “This show will bring to the audience an exciting new concept, and we are certain that they will find this unusual love story of a spy an absolute treat to watch.”

    “Spy Bahu” follows the journey of a spy Sejal who sets out on a mission to uncover a suspected terrorist Yohan Nanda but ends up falling in love with him.

    Colors has devised a robust marketing and digital campaign for the launch of the show. The channel kickstarted the campaign in a strategic partnership with Kareena Kapoor Khan for the promos of the show. The promos were aired on various television channels including Hindi news, movies, music, kids as well as regional channels.

    A range of impactful ads across English, Hindi and regional print publications are also being targeted. On the digital front, the channel has created fun spy vlogs with the lead character Sejal (Sayyad) who took the viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of “Hunarbaaz- Desh Ki Shaan” and “Choti Sarrdaarni.” The actor also reacted to spy confessions from netizens during this initiative.

    Colors has also collaborated with top comedians with a high social media following to create quirky skits around the title and plot of the show. An extensive media plan is also being implemented across mediums namely Facebook, YouTube, Zapr to increase the awareness of the show.

    Mumbai: Colors has announced its first fiction offering of 2022 called “Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawaan.” The show will premiere on 31 January at 10:30 p.m.  

    Produced by Dipti Kalwani and Karishma Jain, the show features actors Reem Sameer Shaikh, Zain Imam, and Akshit Sukhija.

    “Love stories coupled with thrill is a perfect recipe for a show. Our audience has witnessed some exceptional stories from the ‘Ishq Mein Marjawaan’ franchise and it gives us great pleasure to present its brand-new chapter, Fanaa Ishq Mein Marjawaan,” said Viacom18 chief content officer Hindi mass entertainment Manisha Sharma. “This edge-of-the-seat drama will portray how the emotion of love in the garb of obsession turns out to be the most dangerous aspect of Agastya and Paakhi’s lives.     Colors Tamil launches new fiction show ‘Valli Thirumanam’

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil has announced its latest show “Valli Thirumanam,” which is set to air on 3 January at 8 p.m.

    The fiction show features a star cast with Nakshathra (Valli) and Shyam (Karthik) in the lead roles along with actor Nalini (Vadivu), comedian Nanjil Vijayan (Gundurasu), and actor Gayathri Jayaram (Vasundra) playing supporting characters.

    “Colors Tamil is pleased to present Valli Thirumanam, which adheres to our philosophy of unique plotlines and inspiring storylines that have a social impact,” said Colors Tamil business head Rajaraman S. “It is about a strong woman who is a true personification of women’s empowerment. In addition to OOH Innovations, a popular magazine print magazine is being used as a story-telling medium through Belly Band Innovations.

    Zee Kannada to telecast new show ‘Puttakkana Makkalu’ on 13 Dec

    Mumbai: Zee Kannada has announced a new fiction show “Puttakkana Makkalu” that will premiere on 13 December and air every Monday to Friday at 7:30 p.m.

    Former minister and National Award-winning actress Umashree is all set to make a comeback to the small screen with this fiction show. She will be seen playing the lead role of the mother of three daughters – Puttakka.

    Along with Umashree, stars like Manju Bhashini, Ramesh Pandit, Karthik Mahesh, Hamsa Sarika Raj, Renuka, Guru Hegade, Sunanda Hospet and other budding actors like Sanjana, Akshara, Shilpa, Nisha, Dhanush as well as Santhosh and Gajendra of “Comedy Kiladigalu” fame are a part of the star cast.

    Aruru Jagadish of “Jothe Jotheyali” fame is directing this show, while JS Productions is producing it. The co-producers on board for the show are Pradeep Ajri and Pareekshit MS, while the story is being developed by the Zee Kannada team and the screenplay and dialogues by Satyaki. The title song of the serial is already a hit with lyrics written by Harshapriya and music by Poornachandra Tejaswi and sung by Panchama Jeeva.

    Based in Devipura in Mandya district, “Puttakkana Makkalu” follows the hardships of Puttakka. After her husband abandons her for not giving birth to a male child, her life starts revolving around her three daughters – Sahana, Sneha, and Suma.

    The story begins with Balaramayya, the brother of Subhadra, refusing to accept her marriage with Sridhar, who he believes to be below their social class and acceptance. Balaramayya’s wife, Janaki, who is supportive of Subhadra, ends up fostering two children while she gave birth to one, post the occurrence of electrical accident in the hospital which was survived by both the new born babies. Promising her daughter to become Subhadra’s daughter-in-law one day gives them hope and courage of their families reconciling. Venkateshwarlu enters Balaramayya’s house and their lives as the Town’s Bank Manager, as a tenant, with an aim to reunite the family!
