    Madison appoints Mani as COO of Madison Media Infinity, Bangalore

    MUMBAI: Madison Media has appointed V S Mani as COO of Madison Media Infinity, Bangalore.

    Mani‘s previous assignment was with ZenithOptimedia, where he was the head of the Reckitt Benckiser account.

    Mani will head Madison Media‘s Bangalore office which handles clients such as Britannia, TVS, Tata Tea, Levi‘s and Acer.

    In his 18 years of work experience, Mani has worked with advertising and media agencies such as Enterprise Nexus, FCB Ulka, TBWA, ZenithOptimedia and Lintas Media Group.

    Mani has worked on brands like Reckitt Benckiser, Maruti Suzuki, Sony, Whirlpool, Hewitt Packard and General Motors.
     
    Madison Media CEO Punitha Arumugam said, “I am happy to have Mani join Madison and am sure that he will bring a fresh perspective to our clients‘ businesses and guide and motivate our team for continued excellence.”

    Leo Burnett appoints Suvadip Ghosh Mazumdar as VP for Mumbai

    MUMBAI: Leo Burnett has appointed Suvadip Ghosh Mazumdar as vice president at the Mumbai office.

    Mazumdar, who has over 12 years of varied experience as a marketer, moves in from Virgin Mobile India, where he was head — consumer and marketing insight.

    Mazumdar started his career as a consumer market researcher at Quantum Market Research in Mumbai. At Quantum, he worked on brands such as Marico, Colgate Palmolive, Tata Motors and ITC.

    From Quantum, Mazumdar moved to Draftfcb Ulka as group manager (account planning) for two years.

    After a stint in brand planning at FCB Ulka for Hero Honda, HCL and Godfrey Phillips, Mazumdar moved to Virgin Mobile’s Consumer Insights Department.
     
    Mazumdar later became head of the Tata Teleservices consumer insights team as a result of the Virgin and Tata merger.

    Mazumdar says, “I have always enjoyed connecting with the end consumer. Hearing what they say and listening to what they really mean. Without missing out on this passion, moving to a mainstream business role has always been a dream. That is what Leo Burnett has offered me.”

    Rediffusion – Y&R appoints Parag Shahane as creative head – art

    MUMBAI: Rediffusion – Y&R has further strengthened its creative team in Mumbai by hiring Parag Shahane as creative head – art department.

    Shahane will report to Rediffusion Y&R national creative director N Padmakumar.

    Shahane has previously worked with Mudra Communications, Lowe, FCB Ulka, Percept and Forefront. He also had an international stint with JWT Colombo for a span of three years.

    Rediffusion – Y&R VP Neville Medhora said, “Parag brings a lot of energy and passion in to our Mumbai team. His cross-category experience will surely add a lot of value to our clients’ brands. I am confident that Parag will continue to carve out some great work and add value to our clients.”

    Shahane started his career with Forefront Advertising in Mumbai and later moved to FCB Ulka. After a two-stint at FCB Ulka, Shahane joined Lowe, from where he moved to Sri Lanka to join JWT Colombo.

    Shahane returned to India three years later and joined Percept H. After working for close to three years at the agency, he moved Mudra in August 2007 and worked there for over three years.

    Shahane stated, “The scope of work that most of Rediff’s brands have to offer is remarkable. They have built some great iconic brands and continue to partner them in their journey.     MediaCom selects Niti Kumar as national director-new biz and insights

    MUMBAI: MediaCom has appointed Niti Kumar as national director-new business and insights. She will be based in Delhi.

    In her last stint, Kumar was head of operations at Mudra Connext-North and East India.

    This was Kumar‘s second stint with the organisation. Earlier in 2003, she had joined Connext as business director and was with the company for five years before she took a one-year sabbatical.

    Says MediaCom India COO DebrajTripathy, “Niti’s experience and expertise will help in growing MediaCom’s client roster and will add immense value to our media product. She is definitely the kind of talent that we are looking for and her hiring is in line with our objective of having the best people in MediaCom.”

    Kumar specialises in media planning and has over 11 years of experience. She started her career with FCB Ulka Advertising in 1999 where she handled clients including Whirlpool and Tropicana. She has also worked with Universal McCann and clients such as ICI Paints, HBO, Dabur, Amway, Gillette, Reckitt Benckiser, Electrolux and Yatra.com.

    MUMBAI: Alchemist, the talent solutions company led by former Percept Talent Management CEO Manish Porwal, launched its Delhi (NCR) office last week with communications expert Nandini Bhupat as its lead.

    Alchemist provides solutions to Media, Marketing and Agencies, in the field of human resources – both corporate and entertainment.

    “Gurgaon is the new Nariman point and NCR is the new Mumbai” says Porwal. “Delhi is almost 60% of our business in entertainment talent and 33% in the corporate vertical. She then added to her multi-dimensional experience as the business development head at First Advantage, a Fortune 100 company.

    Kavita Gadkari is Grey VP planning for Mumbai

    MUMBAI: The marketing communication company Grey has roped in Kavita Gadkari as vice president, planning for the Mumbai office.

    Gadkari joins Grey from Stellar Search in Dubai, where she was leading the startup. Prior to Stellar, she headed strategy and insights at Inca Tanvir Advertising in Sharjah, UAE.
     
    “I am pleased to join Grey at this exciting stage in their growth. I am particularly looking forward to working with Bindu on a wide range of clients across industries. I am also excited to be back in advertising. The buzz beckoned me back to this big and not-so-bad world of advertising,” Gadkari said.
