  • Logitech X Saaksha & Kinni collaboration at the Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI was a stylish union of fashion and technology

Logitech X Saaksha & Kinni collaboration at the Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI was a stylish union of fashion and technology

Mumbai: The association of Logitech with designers Saaksha & Kinni for the collection “Prism” was a celebration of style and technology with geometry, colour, and mirrors forming a perfect amalgamation at the Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI.

In a creative confluence of fashion and technology, popular actress and fashion icon Sobhita Dhulipala walked the ramp as the showstopper for Logitech X Saaksha & Kinni. Sobhita flaunted Logitech’s popular POP Keyboard as an accessory to sport her bold and experimental look from the “Prism” collection at the show.

Talking about the collaboration, Logitech India country head Srinivas Rao Vishnubhotla said, “After two successful collaborations with Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, we are excited to associate with them once again. This year was all about accentuating the bold aesthetics of our studio series through the signature vibrant and stimulating sensibilities of the dynamic duo Saaksha & Kinni. Today’s millennials and gen-z’s seek style, design, and self-expression as part of their daily activities, and technology has become a reflection of their identity. Hence, Logitech is committed to innovating technology that is playful, chic, colourful, and bold. For young people and working professionals who are constantly on the lookout for creative, productive, and unique tech solutions, our accessories help in making a bold statement.”

This creative confluence of fashion and technology between Saaksha & Kinni and Logitech was a celebration of a hybrid future of work lifestyle to make “work from anywhere” stylish, fun, and productive. Recurring themes that ran through “Prism” were youth, colour, experimental, and bold; all attributed to Logitech, with whom it strongly resonates with. This was reflected in their studio series, which was designed especially for gen-z and working millennials and sports a sleek and stylish design with pops of colour.

The designers were inspired by prints that moved through the tie and dye craft and continued onto geometrics and abstract flowers, which represented their favourite states – Gujarat and Rajasthan. The intricate hand embroidery collection was inspired by the colour palette of Logitech’s studio series. Hence, the addition of mirror work, thread work, tassels, and metals proved to be a perfect fashionable balance.

Designer Saaksha Bhat said, “This season we have collaborated with Logitech to showcase our new collection ‘Prism’ at Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI. The collection showcases pinks, purples, and yellows—an ode to the fun and vibrant colours used in Logitech’s Studio series. The silhouettes are layered, youthful, and easy breezy-a testament that you can work comfortably from anywhere and in style!”

Saaksha & Kinni are known for their signature hand micro pleating, which was once again used extensively throughout the diverse collection this season. Visible on several silhouettes like dresses, skirts, and jackets, the micro pleating and shapes allowed free movement and comfort for the wearer. Layering was an important aspect of the look, as different weights of light chiffon, hand-woven cotton, and satin were cleverly balanced with heavy denim and drill.

The collaboration between Logitech and designers Saaksha & Kinni for their collection “Prism” was a great offering for the fashion-conscious who prefer to work from anywhere while remaining stylish, productive and relaxed.

Nykaa partners with Apparel Group to enter Gulf markets; sees it as a multi-year growth opportunity

Mumbai: Nykaa, the Indian fashion and cosmetics retailer, has tied up with the Middle East based fashion and lifestyle retail giant, Apparel Group. With this strategic alliance, the former aims to utilise the latter’s robust retail infrastructure network and deep market relationships to recreate its beauty retail platform and build distinctive Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) focused beauty offerings in UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.

The joint venture will create an omnichannel, multi-retail brand for the Middle East with Nykaa holding a 55 per cent stake in the new entity and the remaining 45 per cent will be owned by Apparel Group.

As per reports, Nykaa CEO Falguni Nayyar believes that the per capita consumption of beauty is very high in the GCC region, and the company views it as a multi-year growth opportunity.

As per Elara Capital senior vice president – research analyst of media, consumer discretionary and internet Karan Taurani’s margins in the GCC market is far superior as compared to India (around 48-50 per cent gross margin). Nykaa’s gross merchandise value (GMV) contribution from private labels currently is 11.2 per cent, which can potentially lead to 10-15 per cent higher sales volume for this segment in the near term due to new market expansion, he points out.

“As per our assessment, this joint venture will thereby have a positive impact of one-two per cent on growth rates for the overall beauty and personal care (BPC) segment; it may be margin dilutive initially due to investment in the overseas market (creating brand awareness) but will impact earnings positively, once they achieve scale,” says Taurani.

Elara Capital has estimated 23.7 per cent revenue compound annual growth (CAGR) for the Nykaa BPC segment in the upcoming years, he adds.

For the record, Nykaa has 112 retail stores in India (as of 30 June), catering to approximately 28,000 pin codes and offering over 4,500 brands across platforms. Apparel Group is a global fashion and lifestyle retail conglomerate headquartered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is home to over 75 lifestyle and beauty brands with over 2,000 stores in 14 countries.

  • Indifusion launches its fusion fashion collection in its first campaign

Indifusion launches its fusion fashion collection in its first campaign

Mumbai: Indifusion, the Indo-western brand by Bestseller India has revealed its first brand campaign, “Flaunt your Indi”. An amalgamation of Indian tradition with international fashion is what Indi’s brand promise is all about.

The campaign is conceptualised and executed by Thought Blurb Communications. The agency won the creative business for the brand following a multi-agency pitch.

Fusion fashion is something that we all have been experiencing since decades but establishing the right mix of Indian creativity with a Western outlook is stimulating. Indifusion has utilised design, colours, texture and fabrics from both, Indian and Western sensibilities in its collection.

The launch of the brand’s communication is multi-faceted and spans across film, print, outdoor and digital mediums – which is also a reflection of the brand’s spirit to blend Indian and Western cultures in its apparel. The campaign is shot in Ladakh and the models are European, Indian and a few from Ladakh itself. Ancient monasteries, magnificent palaces, petal-strewn forest floors and placid lakes, make for a scenic view of the campaign. The casting of multicultural models brings alive the theme of fusion in every way.

Focusing on the strategy of the brand, Bestseller India CEO and country head Vineet Gautam said, “Bestseller India has always been at the forefront of getting international fashion to India. But with Indifusion, we intend to expand our portfolio and cater to a larger set of audience with Indian fusion wear. Indian wear will always be at the heart of our country and by using our existing expertise in the retail industry, we will drive Indifusion to be a key player in this segment. ‘Flaunt your Indi’ is our first campaign for the brand, and we’re excited to see how it connects with our customers.”

Discussing the creative thoughts which led to the culmination of the brand campaign, Thought Blurb Communications founder and chief creative officer Vinod Kunj stated, “The look had to be of a high fashion Indian brand appealing to an international audience. This is for the woman who wants more than what off-the-rack brands can provide her. The treatment of the film interlaces a light, playful soundtrack and has been visualized with an overall sense of joy. The product design played hand in hand with the vision we had for the brand.”

Thought Blurb Communications executive creative director Renu Somani added, “The creative inspiration behind the campaign comes from the distinctive fashion that the brand portrays. After having seen the designs curated for the collection, the fusion of two different perspectives was very apparent. There is grace, elegance and beauty in the contrast of simple lines and intricate textures. This fashion of the brand slanted the thinking – towards a zone that is grounded yet flighty, Indian yet global, a grammar that is uniquely Indifusion.”

Bestseller India operates 20 brands, such as women’s western wear labels Only and Vero Moda, and menswear brands like Jack & Jones and Selected Homme. Talking about Indifusion, every collection from this brand will showcase not only a signature style, but it will also explore aspects of India and Indianness that have not been explored in the fashion arena.
