    Sandeep Ranade joins Hansa Research as EVP & quantitative research head

    Mumbai: Hansa Research has appointed Sandeep Ranade as the executive vice president (EVP) and national head of quantitative research.

    Sandeep was working with Kantar as executive director and head of media in South Adia. He brings with him an experience of 27 years of working in the research industry. He has extensive experience in FMCG, telecom and the media sectors across brand, creative and media domains. He has also led teams across locations to help clients build their brands and solve their critical business issues.

    In his professional journey, he has led multiple global studies including developing a windows-based software for analyzing NRS (National Readership Survey) 1995 data with a team of software developers. He was also the team lead for setting up a panel for monitoring lubricant usage in trucks (2003-2004) and also transitioned customer satisfaction study for a large telecommunication client in Africa (across sixteen countries).

    Commenting on Sandeep Ranade’s appointment, Hansa Research CEO Praveen Nijhara said, “We are pleased to welcome Sandeep to our organization.     Having completed his education in PGDBM (Marketing and Finance) from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune and B.E. Mechanical with Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Sandeep has many awards to his credit for his exceptional contribution to the research industry.

    Havas Group India onboards Chandra Dobhal as EVP-investment

    Mumbai: Media professional Chandra Dobhal has joined Havas Group India as executive vice president – investment. 

    “I’m happy to share that I have re-joined the #media planning & buying industry and have started a new inning as Executive Vice President – Investment at Havas Group from 1st Feb ’22. I must mention thanks to Venkat, Mohit Joshi and Uday Mohan all my seniors at Havas Group for providing me this opportunity to come back to the mainline media business. I am also seeking best wishes and cooperation from all the friends, partners and stakeholders I am going to work with,” Dobhal said in a LinkedIn post.

    Prior to joining Havas, Dobhal was associated with dentsu International as executive vice president – national head, buying and operations.

    He had a 17-year stint at dentsu where he was responsible for developing process of buying and implementation and setting benchmarks to deliver the best products and value to clients.

    In a career spanning over two decades, he has also worked with Carat Media Services, Percept H, and Concept Communication.

    Mumbai: DoubleVerify, a software platform for digital media measurement, data and analytics, has announced the onboarding of Rose Velez-Smith as EVP and chief human resources officer (CHRO).

    As CHRO, Rose will be responsible for all aspects of our human resources strategy and people functions globally, including talent management, leadership development, compensation & benefits, diversity, and inclusion & belonging, said the company in a statement on Tuesday. She will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to ensure the company continues to build a culture that attracts, retains and develops the best people for DoubleVerify’s rapidly growing workforce, it added.

Most recently, she served as vice president of Total Rewards and HR Shared Services and led the organisation’s Covid-19 management team throughout the pandemic. Prior to Pitney Bowes, Rose worked at Navigant International as regional human resources director. She also spent nine years at Champion International in various HR roles.

    Viacom18 appoints Siddharth Sharma as EVP – sports

    Mumbai: Viacom18 has appointed Siddharth Sharma as executive vice president (EVP) – sports.

    Previously, Sharma was with The Walt Disney Company-owned Star Sports network as senior vice president. He joined Star Sports as AVP in 2013 and was elevated to the position of vice president – head of Kabaddi (content and production) in 2015. “As I end my 8.5 years journey at Star Sports, I reflect with humility and thank my mentors, co-conspirators and team members who have massively contributed in making my work look good,” Sharma wrote in a LinkedIn post.

    Prior to Star Network, Sharma worked with ABP News as sports editor for almost 11 years. His past stints also include Zee News.

    Viacom18 is looking to expand its presence in the sports broadcasting segment. The media and entertainment network recently announced a multi-year partnership with The National Basketball Association (NBA) to deliver live NBA games and programming to fans in India across television and over-the-top streaming.

    Prabh Simran Singh moves on from Disney+ Hotstar

    Mumbai: Disney+ Hotstar EVP and head of subscriptions Prabh Simran Singh has moved on from the video streaming service after a five-year stint. He had joined the OTT platform in October 2015.

    “I announced my departure from Hotstar yesterday, where I learnt how to back big dreams with audacious thinking and high quality execution. The last 5 years have been transformational, from creating World record concurrency on the back of immense user love to making Hotstar into the largest subscription service in India with an explosive 30x growth in just 2 years. Today, Hotstar contributes to a third of Disney+ global subscribers!” Singh said in a LinkedIn post, announcing his departure.

    He will be with Disney+ Hotstar till December.

    “In this exhilarating 0 to 100 journey, it’s been an absolute privilege to work with whip smart people. I’m incredibly grateful to my insanely talented teams for believing in my vision and coming on-board as co-conspirators in building Hotstar. I’ll be at Hotstar till the end of the year,” Singh added.

    In his current role at Disney+ Hotstar, Singh leads the charter to grow the subscription category and build the largest D2C subscription platform in India with an ambition of 50 million subs by 2023. His mandate included brand, revenue, content, product, pricing, customer experience, payments, and partnerships (telcos, fintech, OEMs).

    Earlier, he was EVP & head of consumer and revenue at Disney+ Hotstar, where he led the Consumer & Revenue organisation with the mandate to accelerate user scale for ad-supported business and growing monetisation. In this role, he accelerated the streaming platform on the back of cricket as an acquisition lever and retention through Star network shows and films.

    While his next move is yet unknown, Singh, in the same LinkedIn post, said that he is excited about the increasing role of technology in solving large & complex problems, particularly in health.

Nigam has spent around three years in the company. Before Joining OMD Mudramax, he was the CEO and co-founder, PM Media Solutions.

    Nigam has about two decades of experience in the advertising world, over the years he has played an important role in brand building for many leading brands.

    In his versatile journey, he has worked with established brands like Diageo, Radico, Gillette, Hero Honda, Hero Cycles, Monte Carlo, Oracle, Richemont, LVMH, Samsung, Suzuki Motorcycles, Starwood Hotels, Tetrapak, VLCC, Wrigleys, Yahoo and Makemytrip.com amongst others.
