    Cheil onboards Kaushik Datta as ECD

    Mumbai: Cheil India today announced the appointment of Kaushik Datta as executive creative director. His last stint was at Leo Burnett. He was helming their New Delhi office while also managing the art and design duties for all of India. In his current role, he will report to Cheil India’s chief creative officer Vikash Chemjong.

    Talking about his new role, Datta (KD) said, “I believe creativity becomes more powerful and effective when technology comes along with it, and Cheil is a great place to do that. It’s a great honour and opportunity for me. I am very excited and looking forward to doing some great work.”

    Datta is an industry veteran with a career spanning more than 23 years. He has worked across a wide swath of industries, and his repertoire of clients includes marquee brands like Hutch, Seagram, LG, Bacardi, Apple, Airtel, Kohler, ThumsUp, Maaza, Limca, Minute Maid, Tinder, Fortis, Mc Donald’s, Popeyes, GM, SBI Card, GSK, Hindustan Times, Cargill, and many more.

    Welcoming Datta on board, Chemjong said, “It’s exciting times for us at Cheil, not only in terms of the type of work we are trying to do but also in terms of the type of talent we are attracting, and now with Datta coming in with his talent, experience, rigor, and enthusiasm, it’s another shot in the arm for us!”

    In this role, Datta’s scope of responsibilities will include upping the art and design quotient for our brands, with a special emphasis on the flagship products—the S and Z series. He will also be involved in the agency focus of thinking of ways to bring tech into our communication and add more zing to our creative product. The appointment is part of Cheil India’s endeavour to bolster its creative capabilities as it seeks to add more talent to its team.

    Nilesh Naik joins Rediffusion as executive creative director

    Mumbai: Rediffusion announced that Nilesh Naik has joined its Mumbai office as executive creative director. 

    With over 19 years of work experience, Naik has worked with several top agencies including Publicis, Euro RSCG, Bates, Dentsu, Percept and FCB in India, and The Classic Partnership, Grey Worldwide and GTB in the UAE, in Dubai. 

    “We have been strengthening our team at Rediffusion to keep pace with all the new businesses that we have been winning over the past few months. And of course, there has been a tremendous surge in projects and assignments from existing clients,” said Rediffusion Mumbai head and EVP Kalyani Srivastava. “Nilesh will be tasked with shouldering some of the increased responsibilities and I am sure he will come out aces.”

    Naik was ranked among top 10 creative directors in the MENA region in 2019. He is the recipient of several awards that include the Cannes Lions, Adfest, OneShow and Dubai Lynx and his work has been featured in Lurzer’s International Archive.

    DDB Mudra elevates Iraj Fraz Batla to creative head-North

    Mumbai: DDB Mudra has elevated Iraj Fraz Batla to the position of creative head – North, in order to strengthen its creative leadership structure. Prior to this, he served as executive creative director (ECD) – West for over three years in the company. 

    As ECD, Fraz successfully led the creative mandate for brands like Kwality Walls Kids, Meesho, Cars24, and Protinex. In his new role, he will drive the creative output from the North office under the leadership of DDB Mudra Group chief creative officer Rahul Mathew, said the statement.

    In a career spanning over 18 years, Fraz has worked with some of the biggest creative agencies in the world including Scarecrow M&C Saatchi, Y&R Dubai, JWT, Lowe Lintas, among others. He brings in a wealth of knowledge from his experience of working with 35+ Indian and international brands. His work has won several accolades at Spikes Asia, Adfest, Kyoorius, Effies and Goafest.

    MUMBAI: Sachin Talwalkar has been appointed as executive creative director of Havas Life Sorento, the award-winning health and wellness communications agency from Havas Group India umbrella. In his role, Sachin will be responsible for driving the creative vision and strategy for Havas Life Sorento. He will be based in the Mumbai office.

    India, August 01, 2020: Facebook today launched the next phase of its consumer marketing campaign in India – ‘More Together’, to showcase how people across the country can do more together by harnessing the power of their connections on the platform – even more so in the current situation The latest campaign is inspired by real stories and celebrates the people who came together in these trying times to help and support one another.

    As a part of Facebook’s priority of transparently communicating the role its services play in the world, the ‘More Together’ campaign showcases stories that celebrate and highlight the power of connections. The campaign includes four 30 second films featuring young parents, grandparents, two roommates and a doctor and depicts how they found support through their connections to help each other during these extraordinary times.

    Speaking about the campaign, Avinash Pant, Director-Marketing, Facebook India, said, “At the core of this campaign is our brand belief that people can do more together than alone. Over the last several months, all of us have seen and heard many stories of people across India that have been the embodiment of this idea. People who were once strangers, connected with one another through Facebook, and together addressed many challenges that have surfaced in recent times. As part of the campaign, Facebook will leverage the power of its platform extensively to bring stories to life and has partnered with Dentsu WebChutney to craft the creative strategy and communication across digital and social  media.

    Razorfish Germany bolsters creative muscle with ECD from TBWA

    MUMBAI: Razorfish Germany has appointed Preethi Mariappan as executive creative director. Her appointment further strengthens the creative department of 50 people across two offices located in Frankfurt and Berlin. One of Preethi’s most notable pieces of work is the Red Tomato Pizza Fridge Magnet, which picked up four Cannes Lions in 2012. Additionally she has received global recognition at One Show, Sabre, Dubai Lynx and Effies.

     

    Preethi’s appointment is effective immediately. She brings to the role an industry wide reputation and award-winning expertise across multiple sectors. Preethi will partner with all Razorfish clients helping navigate the unknown, drive change and enabling business transformation.

    She is founder of Adwomen Middle East, an advertising community for women.
