    One Life Studios bags worldwide rights for media licensing of TPL

    Mumbai: One Life Studios (OLS), synonymous with creating Indian content for the world, is set to make a mark in premium sports entertainment. OLS has won the worldwide rights for the media licensing of the brand new season of Tennis Premier League (TPL).

    Helmed by former tennis player Kunal Thakur and actor-entrepreneur Mrunal Jain of Skygoal Sports, TPL provides unparalleled global exposure to India’s young talent, shaping the future of tennis in India, said the statement.

    With two highly successful previous seasons, the third season will have eight teams and 80 players with the best of Indian and international players coming together in a lineup of matches over five days, it added.

    Some of the Indian players include current India’s top singles player Prajnesh Gunneswaran, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Yuki Bhambri the first Indian to win the Junior Australian Open title, and the fourth Indian in history to capture a junior singles title at a grand slam championship.

    The international rankers who will be seen in this season’s TPL are Samantha Dawn Murray Sharan (UK), Diana Marcinkēviča (Latvia), Peangtarn Plipuech (Thailand), Valeriya Strakhova (Ukraine), Sabina Sharipova (Uzbekistan), Sofia Shapatava (Georgia).

    Joining them in the dugouts will be tennis legends like Leander Paes. A host of Bollywood and sports celebrities are also expected to be spotted cheering for their teams.

    Viacom18 bags exclusive TV, digital rights for Abu Dhabi T10

    The sporting extravaganza will premiere LIVE on COLORS Cineplex SD (Hindi), COLORS Cineplex HD (English), Rishtey Cineplex (Hindi), Voot, and Jio starting 19 November. The multi-year partnership was facilitated by sports management firm RISE Worldwide.

    Speaking about the partnership Viacom18, head- Hindi mass entertainment and kids TV network, Nina Elavia Jaipuria said, “Sporting events have always attracted a wide spectrum of audiences and we have been successfully experimenting with sports content on our network. The Abu Dhabi T10 collaboration is a bold step in further enhancing our sports content mix and we are hopeful it will help us expand our viewer and sponsor base.”

    The format will have eight participating teams, each representing a region from the subcontinent. The team comprises Delhi Bulls, Pune Devils, Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators, Maratha Arabians, Qalandars, Northern Warriors, and Team Abu Dhabi. The league will witness participation from cricketers like Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Shahid Afridi, Muhammad Amir, Eoin Morgan, David Miller, Dawid Malan, Faf Du Plessis, Jason Roy, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Colin Munro, Babar Azam, Wahab Riaz, Imran Tahir and many more.

    The tournament is sanctioned by ICC and licensed for ten years by Emirates Cricket Board. It will have 90 minutes of fast-paced ‘cricketainment’ spread over 34 matches, said the company in a media statement on Tuesday.

    AIR bags exclusive radio broadcast rights for commentary of Cricket World Cup 2015

    NEW DELHI: Even as controversy continues to prevail over how Doordarshan can fulfil the Delhi High Court order in the light of the must-carry clause, All India Radio (AIR) has bagged the exclusive rights for the broadcast of radio commentary for the International Cricket Club Cricket World Cup 2015.

    All India Radio will broadcast ball-by-ball bilingual commentary of 17 one-day international (ODI) cricket matches of the forthcoming World Cup tournament in Australia and New Zealand from 15 February to 29 March.

    AIR will broadcast commentary of matches that are played by India and some of the matches involving neighbouring countries. It will also broadcast all the matches that will be played from quarter-finals stage onwards.

    The commentaries of the 17 ODI matches will be broadcast on the national hook-up and the same will be relayed by 66 identified Medium Wave AIR stations and FM Gold network. All India Radio, Delhi, will broadcast hourly updates of the 17 matches on its FM Rainbow Channel and it will be relayed by all other AIR FM Rainbow Channels, thus ensuring unique dissemination.

    The commentary will be interspersed with news and bytes of nationally and internationally acclaimed cricket stars to add value to the coverage. One will hear the close knocking sound of bat, the gasps and the beauty of the match will be crisply worded to give the vivid picture of 17 matches.
